Still mildly writer's-blocked, oh joy.

I don't feel like doing a review of this week's naruto chapter yet; maybe later today or tomorrow... As for One Piece OOOO ACE I did not expect that. I'm interested in his character now and I think it's the first time since he popped up in the series that I even found him more than vaguely interesting. Yay for familial bonds. (strangely it means right now I ship him with Luffy a little less. oh self. XD)

Posted the first chapter of Newtype on ffnet, though I must have changed maybe two words here and there from the version on LJ.



Teamwork-related question... Is there any missing scene you wish I had written (or even just referenced)? (except from the porny ones. >__>) that means plz give me prompts, guyz. .____.

Re: Naruto and Genjutsu.

In Teamworkverse there are kitsune around, more than just the canon Kyuubi I mean. In Japanese legends, kitsune are great at illusions. Kyuubi, though, seems to exclusively use brute force. My headcanon was that he didn't find illusions satisfying enough and he didn't bother with that shit very much.

And then I noticed I tend to make Naruto very vulnerable to Genjutsu, which, yeah, manga canon anyway, but it kinda went *sparkles!* in my head.

If Kyuubi has an innate affinity for Genjutsu, no matter how developed, why doesn't Naruto?( Read more... )

... I really do have a "everything and the kitchen sink" approach with this fic. XD; And so many plans, and scene ideas, and -- whoa. Suddenly there's zomg!gotta match the tone of the manga a little more closely! add some akatsuki and village stuff! come on, there's six months of preggyness left, surely you can fit in more stuff! wait, now that THIS has evolved then THAT scene you were working toward doesn't really fit anymore -- and what did you plan to do with THOSE again? Damn it, should have taken more notes.

And then I totally forget that it started out as a get-together thing. And now Teamwork 3 really feels like teammates-and-best-friends-who-also-have-sex.

Anyway, I fail hard at NaNo this year. Total word count so far: 600~. And not even all of it on the same fic. I lose and fail. -___-;

I think I'm getting a better idea of why I have such a writer's block with Teamwork 3.

At first I thought it was that I like writing character interaction more than action -- I hate having to describe a fight, especially with the whole choreography and whatnot, and the next chapters are going to be nothing but. And, well, it's partly that, but mostly it's that I worry about the gap between TW2 and 3. Things happened in between, and I haven't written them down -- mostly that they settled down a bit re: romance-and-sex related worries, but also that Sakura had her first fight where she used the smashy punch (and broke her hand cause she lacked training XD), and ShikaTema things started to happen, and Sasuke had jealous moments over Naruto and Sakura that make it feel less like he's utterly asexual and just humors them because they're his teammates/friends...

I haven't written then down, and I hate flashbacks, and so it's kind of like they haven't happened. Since I never know precisely how a scene happened in detail until I actually write it down. Often it turns out completely different from my notes.

So then I go and write TW3, and... it's all teammates, fights and politics, and there's almost no space to write anything about the romance/friendship relationship since they're also professionals and they wouldn't mix it up during a friggin exam, and -- well, teammates = already pretty strong bond, but. Hn. Nrrrrgh. It doesn't mention anything much about what they did or how they resolved some interpersonal stuff and progressed about it and found other problems to worry about, and I feel like the fic is missing a dimension because of it, because it doesn't have that background of trust and love and broken fingers as a background. It feels like I'm writing a story about teammates who, and it is rarely mentioned, happen to fuck from time to time, and while it's part of it, that's not how I want to portray it.

haha. "portray". I just want some molest0ring to make the fights less dry. XD

So I think I'mma gonna go back and write that friggin trip to Sand Village after all. >_> Boy is this going to be amusing to post on FFnet. Bah! Chronology is for pussies.

I think I'm gonna have to scrap the scene I started -- or shove it back into a sidefic -- and start the fic a couple of weeks later in the timeline. As fun as it could be (if I ever find that stupid bunny again and manage to write it), it's slow and low-key, and that's definitely not a good intro to the HOMGWEREGONNADIE-ness of the rest. Too boring.

In other news, I'm being plagued -- PLAGUED -- by bunnies of Sasuke and kitties. I'd give him pets in the future of Teamwork, but KyuuNaru would kinda scare them off with his BWAHAHAHA I AM TEH ULTIMATE PREDATOR aura. T_T Been trying to draw Sasuke napping with kitties draped on him, but you wouldn't believe how difficult that is. When it's not Sasuke's head or the way his legs fold, it's the cats' bodies. Unfaiiiirr.

In other, other news, my connection still sucks unholy amounts of ass and I'm not sure my comment alerts is back. I got a couple of alerts, but is it back or did they just get slip through the cracks?


edit: I still don't have a good idea for the first test. It was, apparently, a test of both spying/smarts and resolve. I don't want to copy what Ibiki did. Anyone got ideas? It's not gonna be very long anyway because it's mostly to weed out people who really aren't qualified for Chuunin, so team Seven will breeze right through, but I still need something before I throw them in the survival test.

from the first half of my vacation. I'm staying with kineko, but since she still has to work by day, here I am trolling teh internets for porn anyway. XD

Bretagne was pretty, and I managed to escape before boredom and my parents's attempts at making me walk for hours on end under the sun everyday did me in.

(and camping gave me a few ideas for the chuunin exam for Teamwork. woohoo~)



I still don't know how I will resolve the situation with Akatsuki -- I have scene ideas with Kisame and Itachi, and I know why they didn't come after Naruto sooner and what's happening to the other Tails, but... Hrrm. Maybe I should wait for the manga to progress a bit farther, see if it gives me ideas to steal adapt. 9.9

Diverging universe or not, there's a thing that's totally noncanon now that we have more info (thanks Kishi for Jossing me XP) and it's the way Naruto's and Sasuke's seals work. (teamwork!Naruto's is getting stronger and he's assimilating Kyuubi, and teamwork!Sasuke's died with Orochimaru because the power boosts came from Oro, or at least through him, so he could have more control on his curse seal people) Blah. I can't edit it without reworking my whole plot from the start, so, whatever. *still pouting a bit though* ;.;

My Teamwork bunnies just informed me that it's been way too long since Kyuubi possessed Naruto and was allowed to run around a bit.

But after the end of Teamwork2, even if Naruto doesn't go "WTF no way you bastard-traitor", the ANBU will have a problem with it. So. Hrrm. *ponderponder* Maybe a melding ficlet would be enough... >_> And I do have this Inuzuka clan w/Kiba&Hinata scene I had planned... Problem being, of course, that this is pretty much all I know about what actually happens. I can't see the scene at all. Why must Kiba and Hinata inspire me so little. T__T Any suggestions as to how Inuzuka-mommy can teach Naruto how to use his senses and instincts? Examples? actions?

Also, I still need a transition scene for Sasuke. I did Sakura's with Tsunade, I need to write Naruto and the Inuzuka... Who could Sasuke deal with that's not a member of his team? I started something, but 1) it was introspection, and got kinda boring after the first twenty lines or so, and 2) it was about Sasuke and dead people. How pitiful can you get, Sasuke. Do you really know no one else. XD

I like some of it, but I have no earthly clue where it's going. i've been poking at it for the last three months and I still have no clue, so I'm going to post the draft here and if you people get an idea, maybe you can tell me. Because otherwise I'll have to scrap it. ;_; (i'm not adverse to cutting out rambly bits, amputating the end, or anything like that. Where does it start to drag on for you? How could I fix it? What could actually HAPPEN, even if it's not actually an action but only a new thought in Sasuke's head?)
