Not about Team Seven, but about other pairings in the fic I'm not even sure everyone caught on to. XD; I'm not even sure anyone WILL, because Teamwork is incredibly team-seven centered, in that the kids are so busy with their own life and sentimental problems and I find the rest of it so useless to the plot -- like "oh, Sakura goes out with Ino and eats with her parents sometimes" or "Naruto plays with Konohamaru and visits Iruka" -- okay, life goes on around team Seven, I know that, but how does it FIT with the rest of the main fic without looking like pointless filler? It doesn't. The one time I tried to shove in an Iruka scene, it looked so out of place I cringed.

(or maybe that's just because I utterly suck at writing anything Iruka. >_> Yes, this sounds likely.)

I could use them in a sidefic, but frankly I don't have a plot to showcase the issues, and I DO have enough sidefics to complete as it is. XD; So far, those are just things I know about the characters.

I'm pretty sure it's not even that obvious from the main fic that Kiba and Hinata arer dating, despite them appearing for the first time when Sasuke burst in on them in the middle of a date. It was Sasuke POV, so he had no goddamn reason to actually notice or care they were on a date. After that, Naruto did mention that they were together now once, but it sounds like such a throwaway comment. XD;

Hinata and Kiba have been together for two years, since they were 15-16, but it isn't a "that's it, they're together forever" couple. Hinata likes Kiba a lot, and loves him tenderly, but she isn't in love with him. It's more like he's familiar and safe, and she knows he will always treat her well, rather than she feels the irrepressible desire to be with him. Also some of the traits she loves in him are traits he shares with Naruto, which doesn't help much with Kiba's "second best" status. Hinata is mostly over Naruto by now, but she still gets twinges of regret from time to time.

Also, Hiashi is okay with letting her date outside the clan -- he does care about her, so he wants to let her be happy for a little bit -- but the elders would really hate it if she married an Inuzuka. They consider the Inuzuka as beneath them, and the bloodlines don't even compliment each other harmoniously blahblahblah mannerless peons blah. So she'd be encouraged to either marry in the clan, or marry into an allied clan whose bloodline does match. (I would make it NejiHina because I like the pairing, but frankly I think Hyuugacest would deserve to be treated with more attention than "narusasusaku ANGST ACTION narusasusakuSEX FUN SEX and then Hinata married Neji, by the way blahblah narusasusaku.")

I'm not going with an EVIIIL interpretation of the Hyuugas, so if Hinata were really crazy in love with Kiba, Hiashi could and would force them to accept it (though there would be lots of failsafes placed on her and on the eventual kids, and lots of unhappy bitching), but she isn't, so she doesn't feel totally torn on doing her duty to the clan. So eventually she'll probably end it and marry some OC. Sorry Kiba. XD;

ShikaIno/ShikaTema. Prrt. This one I feel a lot more interested in. >.>

Mostly because at some point they will have a threesome. *_* And seeing how Ino is connected to Sakura and girls gossip (more than Kiba would talk with Naruto about his relationship with Hinata, that's for sure. XD) it has more of a chance to come up in the narration. But I still need to drop hints here and there so it doesn't come off as a total surprise... Hmmm.

Ino starts off as being in denial about finding Shika as even remotely attractive, but when she sees him interacting with Temari, she knows one thing; she sees him as HERS. She can't help but be jealous of Temari -- Temari is bitchy, smart, prideful, and powerful, in a very "in your face" way, but she isn't manly and unsexy for it. Ino compares herself to Temari and finds herself wanting. Sure, Ino's field is more recon/spy work than all-out combat, but she still realizes she could be better/more dangerous/more skilled, and she isn't, because of her interest in things that are, in the end, pretty shallow. Ino likes being shallow and girly, but that's not all she is.

And she wants to be proud of other things -- like she's more attractive than Temari because Temari doesn't diet and does hard work that gives her muscles and doesn't care much about makeup and her hair is unmanageable, but... Well. Temari still wears pretty, functional-but-elegant things, and even with her bushy hair she still manages to be hot. So even on the appearance side, Ino feels challenged.

And then she sees her Shikamaru chuckling and having smart conversations with Temari and she's all HISS. (by then, Shika and Temari are still just... sort of flirting/enjoying each other's company) So she starts being more possessive of Shika, and at some point he asks her what's up and she kisses him. Shika is -- well he does like her (even if he'd never say so), and he's a healthy teenage male so he did have quite a few wank sessions with her in mind. Ino doesn't want to talk about it, and Shika is all "ahhh so troublesome, maybe if i just lay here and pretend it's normal, it will BECOME normal and thus not to be thought about too hard", so... They're not really dating since Ino still doesn't know what she wants, but she ambushes him a couple of times and they make out.

But then at some point Temari hits on Shika too, and Shika is a little "uhhh is it cheating on Ino or not... are we even dating -- oh hey, hand on my ass, nice -- uh, wait."

Ino and Temari are both with Shika -- much earlier than he'd planned them to ever meet face to face again, he tries to broach the subject of WTF is going on here because he's losing control of the situation and he'd rather adress it before one of them gropes him and it ends up in a bitch fight. He would have adressed it before and separately, if he'd thought it would come to a head that soon, so those are not optimal conditions in his point of view, but there's no getting around it.

And then, well, they all end up in bed. >.> ~~go temari go~~.

At first, Ino tells herself "it's fine, Sakura is in a threesome and it works!" Intellectually she doesn't have that much of a problem with the idea. It can't be a full-time threesome because Temari is still in Suna half the time and Ino isn't placed on Shika's team whenever he's sent over there, but it could be a timeshare with occasional group molesting and that would be fine with her.

But really, apart from the sex, which is utterly amazing, she hates it. She feels like "the other woman" and she wouldn't mind that too much, except that for once she doesn't think she could win the man if she tried to make him choose, and she's always twitchy and jealous around Temari. She wants to blow up at her and fight it out, but she knows that Temari would win and she really dislikes the idea of losing to her, so in the end she restrains herself pretty hard to keep from bitching her out and that makes her tense and unhappy.

Eventually she accepts that her whole wanting to keep Shikamaru is much more a MINE! BACK OFF reaction aimed at Temari than a real "I'm in love with Shika". She likes him and he's hers, and okay he's good in bed, but from start to finish the whole thing was more about Temari than about Shikamaru.

Then she realizes that the sex being amazing is more due to her competitions with Temari (both in the Shika molesting area and the molesting each other area) than to Shika himself. He could be Chouji (though, a slimmer Chouji) and the sex would still be the same kind of amazing.

So in shock, she breaks it off and runs.

Ino: ... sakura I think I'm a lesbian ;_;
Sakura: ... >_> You're what?
Ino: A LESBIAN T.T
Sakura: ... -__-;; *presents picture of naked sasuke*
Ino: :DDD -- uh. Ahem.
Sakura: So. Lesbian?
Ino: ... nevermind. ^-^;;

Then she tells Sakura everything, and Sakura is O_O because she had no idea, and they have a "you can tell me everything so why don't you!!" "you were so busy with your own problems damn it!!" heart-warming bitchfest, and then, I don't know. Ino breaks it off with both Shika and Temari for good, but after that, i'm not sure.

Naruto might hear about Ino being into girls at some point and be all :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD about it. >D I don't know what would be better, that he suggest ask Ino if she ever thought of Sakura naked, or that he turn into the sexy no justu and ask if that gets Ino hot. Oh, probably both. He'd get KILLED. XD

... And then I dunno. .__.;;

... I really need to find places in teamwork "canon" for that inoshikatema thing to happen. XD

You might--MIGHT, if you do it right--be able to turn all of that lovely inoshikatema plot into emotional ~~yay unreliable narrator~~ exposition when Ino tells Sakura everything. Sakura's reaction to it all would be beautiful to behold. Then it also fits into the way you design your chapters, the reader gets the same 'this came out of NOWHERE omg' reaction Sakura has (in an awesome way), and you can have a little fun with it/not have to tell the thing basically twice.

Food for thought, I guess.

Seriously, during the song... I don't know where their accents came from there and I'm not sure I want to. Têtes à claques is epic, though. Except between the totally Québécois talk and the vast number of Canadian in-jokes, I'm not sure you could fully appreciate its epicness. Maybe you should try anyway. XD

They could meet during the Chuunin exams, because isn't Temari there (or was it just Gaara, gotta go reread that part) and of course Ino would have to go support her best friend during the finals of the Chuunin exams. LOL
Ino catches Sakura after and explains all. Just the mental image of Sakura's reaction is funny.

Unfortunately I understand very little French, so I did not under stand to much of that other that it was a Mcdonalds commercial. Really cute talking hands. LOL

haha. XD I'm thinking about a sidefic but it would rest heavily on being the "other side" of events I haven't even defined yet, so I can't write it anytime soon. Let's hope the bunny doesn't die before that.

One question I always run into whenever I think about a TemShikaIno story (always think about, never write, as with many of my stories) is: Was everything between Ino and Sakura just about Sasuke? The answer can run the gaumt from "nothing at all" to "yes, but she never realized it" to "she had two big childhood crushes" to "Sasuke was an excuse to be in her life!". But if I was Sakura hearing this big revelation, this would certainly be a question on my mind once the initial shock died down.

My Sakura does think "wait, does that mean Ino ever wanted...?" at some point, but she never asks, because honestly she doesn't want to know. She's afraid Ino would say yes. Ino is her best friend, her support, her safe haven from the crazy of living with Sasuke and Naruto, and it would be an incredibly awkward and possibly painful situation.

My Ino had a, not really an obvious romantic crush on Sakura, but she was very protective/possessive of her and wouldn't have minded them adding some benefits to the best friends thing. She just never fully realized/accepted before now that there was a physical component to her affection too -- they were kids when they stopped being friends so she never really noticed that she really liked petting and hugging sakura and combing her hair. But she was about just as much attracted to Sasuke because he was handsome, mysterious and all that, as because it pissed Sakura off and when Sakura got angry at her at least she thought about HER, not him. XD So in my mind the possibility for Ino to crush on Sakura is definitely here, but when she starts getting aware of it, she forbids herself to even think about it because she knows Sakura is totally stuck on Sasuke and she'd only hurt herself if she let it grow even a little bit. Woe. She's happy being her bestest best friend though, and she's not even sure she wants to DATE a girl just yet.

Hmm...InoShikaTema makes me happy. *^.^* It's all shades of competition and complication, which suites me fine. My Ino is attracted to two things mostly: power/ability to kickass/be dangerous, and an androgynous/pretty appearance. XD (case in point, sasuke and sai. XD) I think she's still looking for a handsome dark knight in a way -- she has some very "this is what it means to be a real woman" ideas (beautiful, charming, able to manipulate via flirting, has to diet and keep herself perfectly groomed/cute in appearance -- I can't see her getting out of the house without combing her hair unless it was on fire, chatty/gossippy), and I suspect she holds the mirroring "this is what it means to be a man" ideas in mind too. (strong, whatever that means, protector, talks mostly about meaningful stuff, somewhat mysterious/hard to know).

So she wants someone who is pretty of face and strong. Which, um. That's not just limited to men. XD And seeing how she loves her pretty boys, I suspect she'd be all over crossdressing boys. Role reversal, oh my. In that vein, Temari's "stronger than many men, but still very feminine in some ways" thing manages to hit her buttons too, even though physically I suspect Ino still prefers cock.

... That's only my Ino, though. I extrapolated so much... @_@;

I like NejiHina well enough but it's not the kind of ship that can work without an explanation. I don't like assuming it just works so well it requires no timle spent developing it, when there are so many roadblocks for it and so many issues raised. And I'm just not interested in taking the time to develop it and deal with the fallout. XD If Hinata gets with an OC it won't be before she's at least 23-25, so we've got some time to see it coming. :p (Kid 1 will have a little sibling by then.)

Hm, amongst my pairable OCs I really only have team Summons and Team Kunoichi... Oh and Hanabi's teammates, and I guess the nice chuunin, but he's about 5 years older than team 7. (of the other three, one is married, one is an old, hateful spinster and the last is asexual and kinda antisocial XD) Team Summons isn't even from their village or from Suna so that's not happening right there. XD As for Team Kunoichi... I really don't know. I don't want to pair them with any of the leftover rookine 9 kids, because then, oh, the cries of mary sue. (also it would feel really shoehorned in to me. Maybe if one day I feel the need to pair off some of the other kids i'll create random OCs for them, but I doubt they'll ever be more than a name and a quick description. Konoha isn't so small that everyone needs to end up shacking up amongst their tiny in-group. XD)

I guess I also have Sakura's cousin and her crew of civilians, but oh man. XD;;;;; They'll never get to konoha anyway so they don't really matter.

Interesting. But I can see your problem. I don't know what to say, except that it would be good in a sidefic. OR, you could put it all in an appendix for the whole Teamwork series. Like what Tolkien did for his LotR stories. I certainly wouldn't mind reading an appendix for the Teamwork series; I think it's ingenious. ^^

As much as I like Shika/Ino (Shika/Temari and Ino/Temari, too, for that matter), Chouji's such a good, decent guy it's a shame he seems to be mostly in the background, relationship-wise.

That was the direction my Naruto fic was going before its muse died, yeah. I'd been planning to send Team 8 on the Snow Country mission with them, then bump off Kiba and Shino (Not necessarily permanently!) to force them to really interact with her on a foxhole level... which'd've led to enough personal growth to make Hinata the come-from-behind winner of my version of the Chunin exam and eventually let me promote her into being their captain for further wacky hijinks...

...probably it's a good thing that the corpse of that only rattles a little these days.

Entering her into a Teamwork-style close Team 7 is trickier, since it basically requires getting her to spend enough time around and impress enough Sakura and Sasuke that showing up on her doorstep with an obliviously trussed up gift seems reasonable to them... Hm.

Hm. Pro-OT4 points from:
Sasuke - She's got a major clan backing her, which means they can get such things (both practical and political) and not dig up old Uchiha ghosts. The catalyzing effect the dumbass has on her, combined with her bloodline, are/will be pretty impressive. She makes good tea, not Naruto's mess or Sakura's merchant-class-needs-to-wake-up-pseudocoffee. Byakugan and Sharingan gene complexes overlap so the kids'd be almost certain to have one or the other. She's someone it's easy to enjoy the company of without all that damned -noise- the other two make.

Sakura - OMFG YES feminine backup against those damned GUYS! Toilet seats that get left down! Help damping down the boys' pissing matches! Someone else who can be trusted in the cooking rota!

Naruto - U FU FU FU! Boobies! She's awesome and she listens and usually she -agrees- and when she doesn't she doesn't make him feel like an idiot for not getting it.

Hinata - No-more-than-marginally-conditional love and support? Check. Advantageous to clan's position? Check, check, check. Incorruptible praetorian guard against insurrection against house reform? Check.

Wow. That's actually pretty believable - even though I kind of imagine Hinata blushing hard enough to set herself on fire if the topic of a foursome were ever brought up.

I love the InoShikaTema that you have all worked out. It's wonderful. And yes, it would be great if it could find its way into the main storyline... or if not as much as you'd like, it always works for delicious sidefics!
