Someone asked me if Sai exists in teamworkverse, and, well, I don't know. I sort of remember deciding that Danzou existed, so I guess Sai would be around as well, I just have no idea how I might use him or why.

Besides he has no Sasuke to replace, which means he wouldn't get the full effect of the Naruto/Sakura-rawr!lurve and then he'd never change and open up. It seems kind of sad to introduce him just to show that he gets to stay an emotionless pawn for Danzou forever. ;__;

If I got an idea on how to use him that gives him good character development, then I probably would. Just, I don't have that idea. Besides, it's team-seven centric and right now they're not in the best place emotionally speaking to care very much about some random outsider. >_>;;;

Anyone got suggestions? It's not like OMG I WANT HIM AROUND, just, heh, maybe, if there's a chance. It's interesting to think about. (besides I love the idea of Sai/Sasuke interaction in general, though I wonder how it would work in this setting.) In the same vein, I wonder about Suigetsu and Juugo and Karin and stuff.

(btw, in a Teamwork sidefic I had Itachi and Kisame kill Orochimaru and Kisame allowed Suigetsu to run off -- though he was just a no-name cameo in the ficlet.)

Edit: Jin / Sai interaction, best idea ever or what? *chortles evilly* oh, I have to find a way to slip it in.

If Sasuke's curse seal starts acting up, they might go looking for Orochimaru's notes on how he created it - which would then lead them to Juugo. You could argue for Karin being en route at one of the labs they search. Suigetsu, though, I'm not sure it would be so easy to finangle. (Which is a shame, because out of Hebi he's probably my favorite.) I suppose you might be able to fine-tune something where he has the key to some sort of secret about Kisame or some... but that would be pushing it.

The real problem with Hebi would be the same as with Sai - what makes them really interesting (at least to me) is the blink-and-you-could-miss-it camaraderie with Sasuke. And that wouldn't develop without the whole missing three years that he was with Sound, I suspect...

Wasn't Suigetsu trapped in a lab in Orochimaru's original lair?

He was, so I suppose they could find him there. But he was also basically a liquid in a vat, and hopefully the shinobi would be smart enough not to go following mysterious disembodied voices... ^^;

Yeah, but in Teamwork Itachi and Kisame destroyed that lab and Kisame allowed Suigetsu to run off so he could come back to kill him later. XD;

*just got mental image* Suigetsu ends up in Wave, hears a garbled version of the Haku arc that basically says "a bunch of Leaf genin kicked that missing-nin's ass! Uh, yeah, we named the bridge after the kid."

Suigetsu takes the sword outta the grave and goes Leaf-huntin'. (Because if he can take out the guys who killed one of the seven famous swordsmen, surely he can beat Kisame!)

Well… the only interesting thing that I can think of is if Danzo decides to go ahead and deal with the Uchiha Clan. However, that causes all sorts of its own complications because Sakura might be carrying a heir and everything, so yeah. Kinda difficult to bring him in. I think it would depend on how you want Root to respond to the shenanigans that they have been up to and how comfortable Danzo is with his own power. I know a lot of what 7 has been up to has been kept hush hush but there has to be some of it leaking out. And I doubt anyone in root is happy with the baby. Granted, anyone going after Sakura is signing a death wish…

But really that’s the only angle I can think of. For Sai. And it depends a lot on the plot you wanna play with.

For the rest of Hebi… well, there still technically with Orochimaru aren’t they? I can see Team 7 running into them if they end up tangling with something of Orochimaru’s, but I can’t see the same reactions to those characters as they have now. Hebi is of no consequence to any of them because Sasuke isn’t involved. However, Konoha might be interested in them for one reason or another (long distance chakra sensing… the ability to get to the bottom of the curse seal with Juugo…)

Again, a lot of it would depend on how you plan on playing with the rest of the plot.

Well, no, Oro is kind of dead. XD; He's been dead for a while actually. Itachi killed him because if his little brother made his choice then he'd live with it and Oro wasn't allowed to kidnap him. (blargh, I also have to decide how much of recent revelations I want to slip in my plot. I already know for sure I won't be using any of the Madara is the Mist Leader, probably no Madara at all. Itachi's motives... Hm. I still saw him as loving his little brother, just in a slightly more mentally unbalanced way...)

Oh, no, I LOVE that fic. I just forgot about in a brain spaz. It's actually one of my favorite things you've written. Its faaaaaaaabulous.

Gah. I'm not a huge fan of recent cannon, really. Some things work well, some seem to be a bit of a cope out and some just make me want to tear my hair out. Thank goodness your Sasuke is using his functioning brain (or really, bless Naruto for smacking him hard enough to turn it _on_.) I was really fond of batshit!crazy!Itachi and I'm probably bitter about letting it go. I'll get over it...

Suigetsu being alive is fun to play with if you have the plot. He might be interested in finding bait to draw in Itachi/Kisame partnership after all and where there is one Uchiha...

I honestly think you should take care of Orochimaru before going on to the other antagonists. I can see Orochimaru coming after Sasuke again, maybe not while he's in the village (on a mission with Naruto, assuming that Sakura is too pregnant at the time to go).

How about Sai being Sakura's temporary replacement?

I think this is an EXCELLENT idea. I know very little of Sai, but I am curious as to how you think he would fit into the dynamic, if at all.

I was going to suggest this. When she gets farther along in her pregnancy, she's not going to be able to go on missions. They'll need someone to temporarily replace her.

You don't have to allude to that, of course. I mean, they've got a full plate pretty much already so dealing with someone on their team trying to kill--

There should be a way to rephrase that, but the teammates trying to kill each other is pretty common. Mostly with Sasuke and Naruto, but yeah.

Maybe it could just be intelligence gathering for the time being? Like.. Danzou'd get in mad trouble if he outright ordered Sasuke killed and since things have changed so much, he might want to see if Sasuke's even a threat anymore?

That way, you could have Sai and then pick it up later or leave it as you choose.

---> Yeah, I can see Danzou telling Sai to keep an eye on Sasuke, find out as much he can about Itachi and Kisame (because maybe he thinks Team 7 would know?). Kind of in a "just in case" sort of way. So then Sasuke would basically be being spied on by Sai. XD;;
And if there's not too much plot going on at the time, then maybe Sai can be converted to the Church of Naruto ~~XDDDDD~~ or maybe even, just to mix it up, the Church of Sasuke?

eheh...hiya. i'm gonna bug you with random ideas again, hope you don't mind >.<.
soooo...i was re-reading TW1 today and in the back of my mind, ticking over was thoughts on how you could solve some problems you were having at the moment... namely 'how the hell does sasuke develop/discover his libido' problem (i think you mentioned it a couple of posts back) and this sentence stood out.

"High Chakra levels always gave him something of a figurative hard-on." ~ Sasuke, when he first meets Kyuubi in TW1

so i figure with Naruto learning elemental chakra with his manymanymany clones and Sakura learning Tsunada's power punch, both training like mad, alot more chakra would be flaring around and out of control. that and the fact that sasuke is more at ease in their relationship.... something would develop? eh. i don't know its an idea.

As for Sai...um? Danzou thinks making Naruto/Kyuubi 'disappear' is best and gets his pet ANBUs to ambush him. Sai's one of his guards while they try get contact Akatsuki/find a way to kill Naruto. He gets converted, gets Naruto back to his 'Precious People' and decides to stick around as ANBU guard(i can just see Sasuke bristle at the idea) to learn to be social? if the emotional angst gets to much they could always foist him off on some of their friends? i dunno Ino? or.......oh god. Team Kunoichi. Jin would kill him. XD

I get the feeling that if Sai did turn up in the Teamwork-verse, it'd probably be sometime waaaay in the future. Like, they'd need him for a mission or something. But that'd have to be after the chuunin exams and probably after they have their kid. Maybe if two of them goes on a mission while the other stays home, Sai could turn up.

And/or maybe Danzou will send Sai to spy on Team 7. The council doesn't seem to trust any of them, so maybe he'd do that.

That's a great idea, though, about Sai and Jin interacting with each other. I've GOT to see that. ^^
