I think I'm gonna have to scrap the scene I started -- or shove it back into a sidefic -- and start the fic a couple of weeks later in the timeline. As fun as it could be (if I ever find that stupid bunny again and manage to write it), it's slow and low-key, and that's definitely not a good intro to the HOMGWEREGONNADIE-ness of the rest. Too boring.

In other news, I'm being plagued -- PLAGUED -- by bunnies of Sasuke and kitties. I'd give him pets in the future of Teamwork, but KyuuNaru would kinda scare them off with his BWAHAHAHA I AM TEH ULTIMATE PREDATOR aura. T_T Been trying to draw Sasuke napping with kitties draped on him, but you wouldn't believe how difficult that is. When it's not Sasuke's head or the way his legs fold, it's the cats' bodies. Unfaiiiirr.

In other, other news, my connection still sucks unholy amounts of ass and I'm not sure my comment alerts is back. I got a couple of alerts, but is it back or did they just get slip through the cracks?

edit: I still don't have a good idea for the first test. It was, apparently, a test of both spying/smarts and resolve. I don't want to copy what Ibiki did. Anyone got ideas? It's not gonna be very long anyway because it's mostly to weed out people who really aren't qualified for Chuunin, so team Seven will breeze right through, but I still need something before I throw them in the survival test.

Well, the core of Ibiki's tests, as I perceive them, seems to be, "Here, I'll give you this clear-cut choice to make and then give DEAFENING SUBLIMINAL SIGNALS which answer you should pick. Get it right and you pass." The written part is probably traditional but not required, and the teamwork emphasis is, IMHO, too much of a Leaf thing to be a part of every exam.

*snerk* yeah, but most cats also zip out of here very fast if you go HSS at them and startle them, and they can tell Kyuubi is HUGE and hungry. Alas. T__T Maybe if they got one as a tiny kitten...

OOH good point about the teamwork emphasis. Especially since the country that's hosting this year isn't really known for its friendliness. Still, I need something to make them DO... Hnn. A test of resolve? *ponderponderponder* But since it's still the last one where you can go "I quit" without risking too much... Hmm. (because qitting in the middle of the survival exam is probably doable, but you still have to get the hell out of the area on your own, and the other teams won't know you quit anyway XD)

Okay so, test of resolve... And perhaps spying. Hnn. And maybe genjutsu... "FACE YOUR WORST FEARRRR!!" ? ... kay maybe not, Sasuke and Naruto would level the area if they were faced with Itachi or loose!rampaging!Kyuubi. XD Hmm hmm hmm.

You will allow yourself to be put under this very painful genjutsu. Why, yes, it's torture. Agree or fail.

Hm. A test where saying, "Screw you, I quit" is actually how you pass? Proving you have the intelligence not to do something supremely stupid?

Well, they have nin-dogs, why not nin-cats? A nin-cat would probably be less likely to be skittish and might well hang around just to prove they're not scared. XD (Although I'm trying to remember anything about how Naruto affects animals and not coming up with any weird reactions...)

XD; I'm not going to get Sasuke cat-summons just so he can sleep under them at naptime. It would be a rather frivolous drain of energy, i'd think. But the idea is cute ^^
