It's strange but I don't read a lot in the Naruto fandom at the moment. Maybe because I have a much firmer headcanon for it than for FF7, where I can more easily enjoy whatever happens without going I DUN LIEK IT... Anyway today I was wondering why the hell I just stopped reading Mixed In With the Lightning of Slaughter (or whatever is the exact title, bad asuka not checking) because I read the first few chapters and they were amazing -- then I just... didn't continue when the next came along, I'm not sure why. But at this point maybe I'll just wait for it to be done... I dunno. .__.;

In Teamwork news, I have a Sakura scene that's ALMOST ready to post but... the middle doesn't work. I have no clue how to fix it and it's pissing me off. >:/

Doesn't help much that the next scene is Sasuke and, this is not a big spoiler (you guys might hurt me if I found a way to make it NOT happen actually), he's going to see Itachi in there. And I can't feel it at ALL. Canon utterly destroyed my OH MY GOD IT'S ITACHI FIGHT OR FLIGHT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW gut reaction, so now I don't know how I'll write that feeling convincingly in Sasuke's POV. Nrgh.

/whining because every other time i whined about being stuck in teamwork i magically got unstuck in the next day surely it'll totally work now I'm expecting it to work, right? *crosses fingers*

I don't know if anyone remembers that ficlet 'verse where Wufei ends up in SOLDIER and Duo goes after him and Heero and Hojo meet under unfavorable circumstances. But anyway...

The fic still has no title. >_>;;; AHA! Continuing with my trend of using materia names, this fic is now "Enemy Skill". (nothing else really fit. sadness.) To push the cuteness even farther, every chapter will be named after one enemy skill. (... my first reaction was OH SHIT I CAN ONLY HAVE 24 CHAPTERS. Oh, self. Thankfully, charcoalcat suggested "If you run out of chapter names and still have story to go, you could always snag the attack names of some of the summons. It would be cheating, yes, but it is technically the use of someone elses skills..." Good idea. XD)

SETTINGS: FF7 world, but instead of sealing Jenova inside her, the Cetran woman melded them at the genetic level (what this accomplishes will be explained later.) 2000 years later...

CONTAINS: eventual Sephiroth/Zack/Cloud, psychic bonding, slavery of sorts.
(of course me being who I am there might be strange bisexual polyamorous shenanigans at some point, because a pack ought to be bigger than three people and somehow! not everyone in that universe is male. I have no idea, but I can't rule it out either. It's just... pack boooond. ngh. *_*)

I admit this fic was inspired by Vathara's Ruby. Hopefully I managed to do my own thing with it... XD But if you like the theme, you should read hers, because prrrrt.

Holy fuck, the last time I actually posted a chapter of this fic was almost a year ago. I hated that stupid dialogue scene SO MUCH ARGH. ... I'm giving myself performance anxiety, I swear.

New version of the previous scene (not too different actually but. Hn.) is going up in a second and I'll link it here.

Summary: Post-advent children. There are some people Cloud and Tifa never dared hope to see alive again. You know what they say about things too good to be true. Meanwhile in Wutai, a sinister plot is brewing...

In the last episode... : Aeris puts Sephiroth to bed in Cloud and Tifa's attic and the little foursome have a heart-warming little chat about how come Aeris and Zack even bothered to bring that crazy asshole killer along, srsly wtf. Then they sleeps. Mm sleeps.
Then Yuffie's dad keels over somehow.

Fandom: Final Fantasy 7 (post-Advent Children, no Dirge of Cerberus, no Crisis Core)

Status: Work in progress. And I write slowly.

Summary: Two years after the events of Advent Children. Cloud and Tifa never hoped they might see Aeris or Zack ever again -- and they did hope they wouldn't have to deal with Sephiroth a third time. They were wrong on both counts.

Having their friends back is great, but it also comes with its share of awkwardness, confusion and other, more practical troubles; having to deal with a newly sane -- or is he? -- but still bastardly killer doesn't help. Especially when they still have to keep Denzel, Avalanche, WRO and the Turks happy.

Meanwhile in the Wutai court, a sinister plot is brewing that could engulf the whole world once again...

Genre: action/psychological/romance. Plot. Attempt at redeeming Sephiroth. Possible polyamory.

Pairings: ...Well. This is kind of complicated.

It starts out more or less Cloud/Tifa and Zack/Aeris, mostly because two of them were alive and two of them weren't. They won't cheat or betray each other. But they might start mix'n'matching.

And then there's Sephiroth.

There will be straight, male/male and female/female interaction. It also means that the dating situation will be more complicated than "do you like me, Y/N" and "Yay we kissed once, now we're gonna get married true luve forevarrr." Mm, polyamory. I'm going to be shooting for a fivesome, just to see if I can make it happen in character, but at best I expect fluid twosome/threesome combinations amongst the five of them and for people to have favorites, not an equal "everyone loves everyone else just the same" situation. There will be jealousy and awkwardness. Tifa is shy like that, Cloud is confused and likes keeping to himself, and Sephiroth will be trying his best to stay asexual and not interested. I'll have to see how far I can believably push them, and if they won't do it in a way that doesn't break suspension of disbelief, then I won't force it. (Strangely enough, I expect no problem from Zack and Aeris.)



And even with all that babble, the plot still gets more spotlight than the relationships.

There are probably stray mistakes here and there and weird characterization or anti-canon stupidity. I'll be thankful if you feel like pointing them out, but it's alright if you don't.
