01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
kineko, via YyuyHakusho crossovers. When we met we were both into YYH, but we had no internet access, so she'd burn fics onto a floppy disk (omg I just dated us, so old XD) and pimp them out to me. (incidentally that's where I started realizing my sucky english was a problem, because there were very little french sites and we finished them SO FAST and she was the one who started giving me english fics. "no come on, this one rocks, just use a dictionary or something!" What, realizing because of abysmal school results? Hah right.) Anyway so I started reading crossovers without even having seen pictures of the Gboys, so I built up mine. Which turned out totally wrong! Then I started reading pure GW fics. Then I started writing my own fic.
Without having ever seen the series. -___-;;;;
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I moved on.
Then I came back.
I think it's always going to stay in a corner of my brain. It won't let go. DX I did stay there at least four years, though, even if the last year was mostly me bitching about it. >_>;;
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc?
I think the most epic moment ever is at the very end when Heero blows up the Libra. And then Duo yells HERE HE IS or something (i listen to it in japanese because of the really neat OMGWHEE!!! the voice actor managed to get into it) and there's the theme swelling behind him. prrrrt. *__* Also heero shooting his grappling gun thingie as he's falling and then crawling around and twisting metal bars apart. Yes. Also relena in the Sank uniform with the trousers being kickass. Also Duo calling Deathscythe his partner.
Oh man I haven't rewatched the whole series in SO LONG. Every time I manage, say, the 12 first eps and then I get distracted.
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
As of this year it's mostly fanart and fanfiction, but I keep them to my LJ and devart account. I don't post them to message boards or GW communities, and I haven't even started posting the fic on ffnet. I intend to do that much, but as for th lj comms, I don't know.
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Well... yes, seeing as it's apparently slowly dying and noooo my childhood. ;__;
Naruto
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
... I think Kineko too. ♥ We were huge yaoi shippers back then, so the narusasu kiss? NO ONE COULD HAVE TORN US AWAY after that.
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I ... well, i want to say NEVARR but then i was saying that about GW too, and then i just fell out of love even though I didn't want that to happen. I think what burned me out the fastest in GW was the fanbratting and fan entitlement, but since in Naruto I participate a lot less it's bound to happen more slowly. Also the climate is different -- GW was a complete 49 anime epps, whereas Naruto is still ongoing and therefore keeps bringing in fresh sources of inspiration. (in the other hand it was crazy the number of AUs you coul write with the gboys, whereas I tend to dislike most AUs with Naruto characters. It's because the setting is a lot more shiny, I don't want to lose the context of a lot of things that shaped the naruto characters since that's what makes them cool to me.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc?
... EVERYTHING.
Gaara fight, Episode 101, Hospital roof fight, goodbye scene, Neji VS kidoumaru (SO PRETTY), the aftermath of gaara VS Kimimaro ("your most important person doesn't have to be a good person.") Valley of the End, Sakura/Chiyo epicness, Sakura punching Sai, TEAM SEVEN REUNION T^T, ramen feeding scene, onsen scene, any and all Karin/Suigetsu interaction, wich each other or with Sasuke, "Sorry Sasuke, there won't be another time" TT^TT shit just reading it again makes me tear up, SIX TAILED NARUTO yessss.
My favorite movie, er. they all suck in their own ways... XD;; I liked the snow princess movie though (there was adorable team seven-ness!!) and I liked Shion in the first shippu movie too (though the rest of her movie is booooring)

YES. But only if they're not 'tards and bashers. We have enough of those already. >_>
Final Fantasy 7
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
There was an ad in my Dragon ball Z monthly magazine. .__. the graphics were SO PRETTY. So I kinda... bought it, even though I never played with my brother's playstation, on the condition that my brother only play it while I was there to watch. (I mostly contributed "Hah! I told you to turn left!") Once he was done I played my own game, already knowing the biggest pitfalls bwahahahahaha. >XDDD
I didn't get into the actual fandom until, er. I don't know, I regularly glanced at fics here and there in the years since then, but until
chibirisuchan started writing them and pimping out ciceqi it was one of my random, rarely there fandoms like The Sentinel and YuGiOh. Then, well. Ciceqi. So now I write for it too.02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I think it'll always stay one of my back-up fandoms, never really a favorite but always there in the background.
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc?
The whole game is epic. Most favorite scenes are Aeris dying, the Zack and Seph flashbacks, Cloud handing over the black materia, and the ending. Oh, and I love raising chocobos. .__.; My favorite city is Cosmo Canyon. I... don't like the rest of the compilation as much. ._.;; But it's a moot point since my brother took the playstation with him when he moved out, that rat bastard. The movie was very pretty eye candy but that's pretty much it.

(In fact, when I finally did get hold of a copy of Gundam Wing, I was sorely disappointed by the canon, because it didn't measure up to the frequently-superb fanfiction.)

Also, GW is one of those fandoms that just sucks you back in, no matter how long you've been out. I'm not even really sure what does it, but I've never met someone (myself included) who hasn't gone back at least once. ^^;
