Okay I know the previous post was chapter 1 scene 1 but I decided actually there were two scenes in it and it could stand as a chapter. >_>

I thought I had posted this scene at some point since it's been written for a while, but I can't find it. So here it is? (again?? idk.) Am now prodding at the following scene. Plz motivate me, I'm being swallowed alive by Homestuck and as much fun as it is, that sort of selfish behavior from one's fandoms is just not on. >:(

This one's roughly 1 600 words long.

Duo doesn't want to join the Preventers, thankyouverymuch. Preserving the peace is all well and good but he likes answering to no one but himself, and like hell he wants to buddy up to people he and Killer used to stand against, back during the war.
Only the Preventers have a pack, and his brother-wolf doesn't, never has, deserves to, and maybe a junkyard dog isn't all a warrior wolf should be.

Guess who spent the last eight hours writing 14 pages of random new fic full of wish fulfilment. :D AND THEN DERAILED THE PROMPT AND MIGHT HAVE LANDED HERSELF WITH A NEW 'VERSE.

Kink meme prompt: kid/troll, walking in the sun
Once the game is over, and the kids and trolls (revivified and whatnot) are deposited onto the new planet they made, the trolls discover that here, on this new planet, the sunlight doesn't kill them. They can walk it in completely fine, just like Kanaya can, and they individually learn to leave soaking in the sun's warmth in different ways. Doesn't have to be shippy, but I do love kids/patron trolls interactions if you do.

Bonus points: Because sunlight = death for most of the troll's civilization, they're at first extremely weirded out by how much humans enjoy being in it

Bonus, Bonus points: Trolls turn a funny color when they tan. (maybe they turn their blood color?)

John keeps going ahaha but why don’t the brown one and the purple one just hatekiss already and then Karkat throws another manifesto or three on why that would be (hot, okay, but) UTTERLY disastrous because the brownblood is PALE on the indigo asshole okay but every time he tries to fix him it only pisses off the indigo more, and why it’s so tragic that the brownblood and the jadeblood both jilt each other because she wants him pale and he wants her flushed but she wants them both ashen so much more anyway oh god the silver-gray longing how can you not see this.)

I want to do something o-ficcy. IDK, write my old characters, worldbuild for some new fic. I want packbonding and weird alien things. I can't decide. It's horrible.

I just... Mermaids in Space? Not enough alienness. Black Ops Werewolves? Not enough scifiness. That new weirdass survival/horror thingie I've been toying with in the last couple months? I don't even know the characters all that well!

I need weird and dangerous as fuck ecosystems and people engineered into not quite human creatures and possibly also visibly unsettling and psychic powers and PACK BONDING AAAA.

I also want to write Tyr learning how to be pack alpha. Not enough aliens in that fic but. Oh man the first time he loses his temper = glorious.

-Mermaids in Space follows adorably serious, young telepathic tribal mermaid Liadan, goofy and idealist, psychic-null, intellectual/marine biologist Arun, and antisocial empath, mechanic, space pirate Blue in their mad escape from Evil Corporation that wants to mine Liadan's nice abandoned waterworld without consulting with the locals. Other characters to be found here (main trio and bad guys) and here (blue's pirate crew), illustrated.

-Territoriality: The war against pseudoelves has come to a draw, so some of the soldiers who were part of an attempt to induce lycanthropy without allowing it to conclude in transformation are cut loose. Now on top of the convenient strength and healing abilities they have to deal with powerful instincts and health issues. Also with the local werebeast society, which isn't really happy to see them. Characters are asexual, wry, introverted alpha-wolf-to-be Tyr Andersen, snarky asshole Dian Keller, one-eyed silently snarky badass she-wolf Neve Serrano, charming liar Gabe Wright the werebear, bitchy tiny tiger Xiang and her best friend Athena the Secretary, etc.

For a prompt on the Kink Meme. prompter asked for a troll/kid pairing where the troll was actually seen as intimidating/potentially dangerous (no abuse though!). 700 words of John thinking about what he finds sexy. Woo. Alas no onscreen smut, but suggestive.
