Life and Times of Teh Asuka

I am very FLAIL FLAIL AAAAAAA today. Since yesterday actually. It's all a convergence of little things... meh.

I went into town! and the bus was late. and had a meeting with people! (was stressful since i don't like arguing/disagreeing with people irl and um yeah -__-) and went shopping for books and the cashier was new and incompetent and ate up all my security margin of lateness! and went to a second place to get some paperwork but it was SURPRISE CLOSED! so that kept me being late for NOTHING, and got lost on the way to a THIRD appointment and was LATE! (not a lot and it didn't bother her but it bothered ME, seriously I find it disrespectful as fuck and here I was, ten minutes late) and then i took the bus home, and then i had to cook. Cooking was fun enough since i was still all flaily and spastic with nervous energy, but wow. Now I can feel I am slowly but inexorably heading for a belly-flop.

So yesterday I had a plagiarist on devart who was all "This is my entry for the spring contest! :D" ohh, a CONTEST. Good job on... reposting my pic, I'm sure you'll go far with that one! and someone in the comments was asking her all :| -faced, "who's askerian?" because the fucking dumbass had left my url on it, and her answer was a bitchy-apathetic "what's it to you?".

her gallery was full of comments of a person asking her to at least credit the other pics she was mutilating and calling hers, and she was all no no shut up who caaaaaaaaares. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD oh honey you shouldn't have. I'm too polite for my own good, when someone shows me that much of their ass it's a pretty foregone conclusion I won't be able to refuse the engraved invitation to apply foot to it.

The case was pretty much open and closed and the dA staff handled the removal of the stolen picture quickly, but since I was nervous about my day from hell I had a good long snarky rant to try to evacuate some tension, and I know some of you guys like to see me bitch up a storm, so here it is: ( Ranty ranter rant )

And finally my deep ... four paragraphs of thoughts on Naruto. ( :/ :/ :/ )

So recently I've been v. depressed sob sob over how much my f-list activity has dwindled. Used to be I'd have to go back two pages if I missed one day, and now there's maybe four more posts a day and I am a sad and emo Asuka.

But then I thought, hey, I haven't been posting much either.

Mostly I keep feeling like I can only post, and therefore spam people, if I have either fic or manga observations to share.

I don't post my random thoughts/plotbunnies/crack scenarios because right now most of them are about Homestuck and I'm pretty sure most of you guys aren't into that and i've been enough of a virus vector already, and I haven't seen a good fandom meme that I haven't done already in ages (kinda want to do a "opinions on pairings" meme for homestuck because I have ~feelings~ but aaaaa), and my real life is boring as fuck and not something interesting enough to share. (okay no yes I've gone from 180 pounds to 144 in the last six months and i'm not done yet! >:O i'm exactly five feet tall so yes, still quite visibly overweight. shut up i'll be proud if i want to be. told you it'd be boring!)

But as a result I'm complaining of something I'm doing too. Hrrm.

It doesn't help that I'm guilting over not writing much teamwork recently. (but hey! the other day I started chapter two of the wedding fic. It has Sasuke and Naruto and Sai at a bathhouse. Sai keeps being Sai at the two of them, which is hilarious but hard to balance lest I fall into total moronisation of the guy. :/ Still, it's not teamwork proper. hrrrrn.) I think part of that is the canon hasn't been really grabbing me as much as it used to recently. Insane!sasuke is so frustrating and Naruto the lone hero who makes token "efforts" at team fighting while gloriously bathing everything in his radiance as Sakura is sidelined... meh.

(the rest of that is that I have to write a Sakura-POV fight scene while naruto and sasuke are off having relationship angst in the background. I like writing fight scenes, but only if there's emotion in it, and I REALLY like to write character interaction, which cannot be focused on right now because dramatic tension blahblah. If I keep stalling on it, it means I'm doing something wrong with my plotting, but I haven't figured out what that is yet.)

I need to rekindle my love for Naruto. Maybe a reread/rewatch. Idk.

I need to friend more communities with interesting stuff on it? but like what. No clue. aaa.

I need to start posting on LJ more! D: but about whaaaaat. DX

Argh. Stupid f-list. Update more, damn you!

-And I spent all day saturday devouring this fic... which, uh, is a Sentinel AU where sentinels and guides are known/relatively common and guides are oppressed, and usually those fics are, frankly, rather shitty, especially the ones that pretend to be gen and yet keep warning for "intense bonding scenes" that happen in "bonding suites" that are not bedrooms and "bonding platforms" that are most definitely not beds, where the two men keep cuddling and lying on top of each other and describing their emotions like a softcore romantic porn scene for hours on end, but it's totally NOT GAY goddamnit NO GAYNESS HERE AT ALL LET US SPEND SOME TIME BEMOANING THE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING FEMALES IN OUR LIVES and in conclusion cousins.

... I might have a slight issue with that type of protesting-too-much fic. I would love fic where the primary bond is a platonic friendship and they have girlfriends on the side, it would be kinda poly actually and y'all know I'm all about that, but that's not what those stories usually are.

But anyway. This here chapter is the first of the second sequel but there's links to everything in the header. So.

Realistic "the guides are oppressed!!" situation (not an evil situation of evil just because some a segment of the population is evil and the rest doesn't care enough to protest), Jim and Blair being awesome in a totally non-sue way, lots of anthropology and sociology geekery, and awesomest awesome OC pair that I totally fell in love with. (oh, it's slash too, but even the sex is fun and IC and non-gratuitious, and non-Ikea at ALL! gasp.)


-Saturday and Sunday I also babysat the puppies. Only four left! ;^; But man they're even more active so it's about the same amount of work keeping up with them. x___x graargh pointy teeth and claws.

It's sad that their mom is less exhausted and is interested in them again, and of course they're always extatic when they can even just omg touch noses!!! with mommy, and I couldn't let her in the room with them, because she just had an operation to unwoman her and there's stitches between her back teats that the little brats would tear out in approximately ten seconds.

- yesthisisme/Esme and I were chatting and she mentioned she was looking for people to RP Naru/Sasu/Saku threesomely goodness with. I alas don't really RP anymore, apart from with Saro sometimes (when I RP too much all my creativity goes there instead of in fic writing and then I don't really write anymore), but I promised to mention the issue to people. She usually plays Sakura but is open to trying either of the boys.

- Due to previous owner disappearing off the face of the internet, anyssia took over the FF7 kink meme => ffvii_kink_meme Oohoho. I helped her a bit to repost prompts (not a lot sorry hon .__.) and some of them are definitely interesting. >__> Will be keeping track.


... I was sure I had a third thing that needed mentioning. Argh, what was it again?! *headscratch*

Oh, and the fourth Shippuden movie is out. It's the one with Naruto sent x years into the past and meeting his dad, but I can't tell how much they interact (rumors say not a lot) because I've only seen the first 17 minutes. I do know that there's a singing tsundere princess in it. Naruto's Movie Harem increases by one! What IS with him and princesses, srsly. I also know that Naruto gets to be whacked by the idiot stick several times in a row, seriously that boy is sixteen by now, not twelve. DX But anyway it's pretty to look at so far, if giving off a vibe that is really not narutoverseish.

If they like AU so much, they should just give in and make a Konoha High School movie next time, it'd net more people. >__>


edit: OH YEAH i'm on AO3 now. Here. Nothing much there yet, apart from Restore, Swingersverse and the GW/Stargate crossover thing. I'm too lazy to reupload everything, so I was thinking maybe i'd just do the stories I like best. I dunno yet.

Manga: ( very quick chpt.534 )

Anime: This week was Sakura's confession. It was pretty faithful to the manga and the art looked pretty nice. I have to say my favorite thing was the new opening, though. XD There's a new ending too but I found it kinda meh. It might interest people who like to see Naruto art with a different artstyle. I don't like things to be off-model in animation apparently. XD
