manga rec : beelzebub
Sun, Apr. 12th, 2009 13:35It's very simple! It's the story of a school delinquent who gets adopted by the demon lord's baby boy.
I laughed SO hard. The main character is hilarious, the constant flying snark hits my funny bone just right, and the characters are excellent -- Hilda the gothic demon maid, and the hero's buddy/straight man who keeps trying and failing to be the voice of reason. He goes on fighting gang members and delinquents with a naked baby clinging to his arm, and then there's trying to explain it to his family, and etcetera -- it just killed me with LMAO.
Tatsumi (hero): So if there was a stronger, more evil shitty bastard than me, he'd be chosen as the parent?
Demon guy: *doubtful* Ahh, perhaps, if that kind of guy could exist... it would happen...
Tatsumi: >8D
Buddy: =____= No, that kind of guy doesn't exist. Try looking in a mirror.

Also, I keep reccing Nurarihyon no Mago, which is the story of a too-nice pushover who is slowly learning to own his youkai side and making himself into the kind of lord that his grandfather's followers can respect. The beginning chapters are a bit choppy, but the cast is adorable, the folklore interesting, and soon enough the plot finds its legs and becomes awesome. Read it! >:O
