You guys should not let me meme. I never finish all the prompts. I always end up with another brand new 'verse or three added to my load. I am bad with memes. baaaaaaad.

I'm blaming hiza_chan somehow. I was reading her genderswitch meme and then I was like OMG WANT. But I don't feel imaginative enough to write genderswitch ANYTHING, needs some limits...

Then I started wondering what would be different in teamwork if Sasuke was born a girl.


Give me one of my fics (anything I've posted in english, be it Teamwork, Restore, the Swingersverse, ofic... or one of those drabbles I wrote months ago *), give me a character to genderswitch (two max), give me a writing prompt (a word? a moment in time? a sentence? an action? note, I don't do well with poetic prompts. Hell, the prompt is optional. I might whine if inspiration doesn't come, though.)

Basically I'll write a ficlet inside a genderbent!AU of my stories. (I'd prefer a born the other gender AU than a temporary genderbending, actually .__.) I don't have the brains to manage brand-new verses or fun and different explanations for genderflipping right now.

Sasuke gave Kakashi a long, unamused look. Kakashi smiled back. "Sadly enough Naruto can't do it -- don't mutter, Naruto, you don't have the manners to blend in. And the target would notice a genjutsu on Sakura's hair color. There really is no choice."

Arms crossed, Naruto kept glowering alternately at their teacher and at his teammate. Sakura sighed and patted his shoulder. "There, there. You don't want to do it anyway, there won't be any fighting. It'll be boring."

"But I am SO hot enough, damn it!" He threw his hands up in the air in frustration, and then slumped and gave Sakura a pleading look. "I could be, right, Sakura-chan? Maybe if... Sakura-chan?"

Sakura gave a dazed blink and turned back to him, but her attention didn't stay on the blond very long. "... Oh."

"See," Kakashi said, sounding quite pleased with himself, as Sasuke glowered at her. "What do you think, Sakura?"

"... oh yes please."

Naruto turned to look, and let out a long, long whine. "Damn it, Sasuke-bitch, it's just not fair. You tweaked the jutsu, didn't you?"

Gorgeous slanted eyes, thick eyelashes, pretty face -- it wasn't much of a change, save for the length of the hair. The body, now, all long legs and long torso, and those shoulders...

Sakura bit her lip. She could feel her cheeks flushing. "Um. I don't think she bothered. But when you think about it, it's... really rather logical, isn't it? I mean, if you're--" she muttered the rest, because however much she felt for Sasuke now she'd always felt a lot against -- prettier and maybe not quite as book-smart, but like it mattered when she moved like the wind, when Sakura had none of the same killing instinct, "attractive in one gender, and the jutsu translates that..."

Sasuke huffed at her, and placed her hands on hips she didn't have much of anymore. The effect wasn't very masculine -- a bit campy, actually -- but the challenging, irritated tilt of that jaw now emphasized a long masculine throat, jutting collarbones, in a way that wasn't male or female -- just dangerous.

Sakura wondered for a moment if she would have been so irritated by perfect-untouchable Sasuke as a child if she'd been a boy, with more sexual attraction to throw in the balance -- because Sasuke might be her one glaring exception (and hadn't she fought and raged before admitting that) but Sakura still called herself straight.

It would have been horrible. Who would she have pushed herself again? She couldn't imagine.

While she thought Naruto's affront had melted away, turned into worry. He took a step closer, brushed his fingers against a too-flat, too-muscled belly. "The jutsu won't hurt him, right?"

Sasuke sighed, shoulders relaxing minutely. "The spawn is fine, idiot." Then of course she slapped his hand away, though it was so half-hearted it almost didn't count. Sakura rolled her eyes and chuckled.

"What did you do to me," she said, the girl, the too-pretty girl sprawled on that jutting rock under Naruto's not-so-inner demon. She should have sounded scared -- Kyuubi scared even Naruto himself on some days, though he never showed it -- but the slight tremble in her voice came from mounting rage and nothing else.

A blade flashed, lightning-fast -- lightning followed. Kyuubi flew back, crashed. He sat up still laughing, blood trailing down his forehead.

The girl stood with her back against the rock, her hand on it for balance, the sword steady -- not across before her like a shield, but pointed straight toward Kyuubi, like she was about to pounce and skewer him.

Naruto didn't know which of them to run to. He reminded himself they both needed stopped more than protected.

"Hey, stand down, the both of you!" He tried to look impressive, bring up a little anger to his eyes. "Kyuubi, what the fuck did you do?" Because he knew what it had looked like -- he'd gotten a good long look at that -- but that didn't make it make sense.

The... pinning down and the purring and the kiss, mouths sealed together, jaws working -- tongues...

"Drained the yang out of her," he said, and spat blood and laughed, the slice through his chest already closed.

"You're dead," promised the girl who was Sasuke, all calm and quietly sincere.

She took a step forward and the belt shifted, and too-wide pants slid off smooth wide legs. Naruto flinched at Kyuubi's cruel, delighted laugh, didn't know whether to avert his eyes or not. A real girl he would have, but Sasuke...

Sasuke's legs, Sasuke lost in a too-wide kimono, Sasuke but a girl.

He was hard. He didn't want to be but he was.

Sasuke wasn't a girl, though, and even if he'd been a girl he would still have been a kunoichi, so his high kick sent the pants flying at Kyuubi's head and he followed right after.

It wasn't obscene or shocking anymore to see him -- her -- half naked, to catch flashes of those secret parts. War goddesses and demons weren't smut, they were art. Beautiful, lethal art.

Man or woman Sasuke had always been so. Throat tight, Naruto watched until he couldn't stand anymore not to be the one who faced that.

this is difficult, so far none of the plot I posted yet would really change if Seph had boobs. I think i'll go with pre-game background instead.
(... I wonder if they'd call her Sephira instead. Somehow it sounds less threatening and more soft-core actress instead. Nahhhh. He was named for symbolism, so there's no reason why that'd change with gender.)

He slides inside her, cautious like the camp surgeon was before the war beat it out of him. She barely notices. She damages herself worse every day merely by training.

He's the third son of a Wutaian warlord or other, she isn't sure. She doesn't care. He offered; she was curious.

It's strange and a little awkward and at some points rather silly. It's pleasant, in the end. She thinks maybe she will try it again, with people whose hands she can feel stronger than skin-deep, light as a butterfly, fleeting. (She cannot ask them first, it would be an abuse of her authority, but perhaps tomorrow when the rumor has gone through camp they will know they can offer. Perhaps. She is the General no matter what, so perhaps not.)

She spends all night half-awake, waiting for him to rise and assassinate her. Nothing.

The next morning, the way he smiles, the way he touches her hip, she realizes; he thinks he has conquered her. There's no need to kill her.

When she brushes his hand off and gets up and gets dressed he stares, shocked and then angry. She arches an eyebrow at him -- what did he think, really? -- steps toward the door and there it is, the rush, the blade in his hand.

From the delayed shock on his face he notices the Masamune in his heart slower than she noticed his penis inside her yesterday. She shakes him off her blade. The biggest regret she feels is for the futon bed, whose sheets she liked.

His father will make trouble. Not that they weren't all planning for the cease-fire's abrupt end already.

They should have sent her a geisha, Sephiroth thinks dispassionately, because she cannot imagine that another woman would have believed her so easily disarmed.

"You want to have sex?" Gray brows furrowed, he looked the picture of puzzled annoyance. "Why didn't you say so? I seem to remember you being fully able to make yourself understood on that topic in the field. Mostly by barging in my shower stall and offering to wash my rear end for me."

Groaning, Zack slumped in her chair. All that gorgeous innuendo, wasted. She sneaked Aeris a glance and they both started giggling like mad.

"Oh god, Seph. We were --" It was hard to speak and giggle both, but she managed to choke the words out somehow. "We were flirting all day..."

"Should I have taken you seriously? I thought your relationship with miss Gainsborough was exclusive."

Zack's hilarity died down, replaced with a softer, more melancholy sort of feeling. Yearning. She wanted this man, who amongst his many, many bouts of social weirdness, would not even think briefly that two bisexual girls together might merely be decoratively passing the time. "It's... not casual, no," she said.

But she didn't want it to be casual with him either.

Aeris smiled, with dimples, and reached over the table to take her hand for support. "It's mostly exclusive in the sense that we're both really, really picky."

Sephiroth gave a slow, wary blink. Zack smothered a snicker in her hand.

"And I have been... picked."

"Yep."

"Should I feel flattered?" he asked, an eyebrow arched high and immensely doubtful.

"That'd be nice," Zack replied drolly, "but not necessary." Ah well, flirting was fun, but it was still a way not to commit. She looked at Aeris; who gave her a little nod, 'it's still fine, go ahead'. "We want to have sex with you. But not only that. It wouldn't be Zack-and-Aeris, plus Sephiroth sometimes in bed. It'd be... Zack-and-Aeris-And-Sephiroth. Or at least Zack-Aeris, Zack-Sephiroth. I dunno. Depends on what you want. What do you think?"

"I prefered it when it was merely juvenile innuendo," he replied, and he didn't sound sarcastic, he sounded subdued. "This is... not an easy question."

"There, there, we won't ride you to exhaustion," Aeris teased, but so gently it was clear as day what she meant; 'we'll be careful with you'.

She reached across polished wood and took his hand too. He stared at it for a long time, but he didn't pull free.

Most of the time Wufei honestly barely remembers that Heero is a woman.

Women are weak. (He doesn't even really believe that absolute, anymore -- Meiran and Sally, and even Relena, in her way -- they showed they weren't.) Heero is the strongest person he knows, stronger than him, better. A worthy adversary, a foil.

Women are nicer to look at. They take care of their appearance, at least. Heero wears old jeans and too-large jackets, and her hair is a bird's nest, cut when it starts tickling her neck and otherwise left to its own devices.

Women are visibly different. Heero's flat as a board and has no hips to speak of. When they were younger people routinely thought her a pretty boy, and she never bothered to correct them. (Duo used to tell entertaining stories about her and Relena's first meetings.)

Women are... Wufei doesn't know, he isn't sure how to pinpoint it; they're different, the way they think and act and speak, of course they can have valor and strength and smarts and sarcasm and violence as men do, but even so, even then. He can usually tell male from female merely from ten lines of correspondance; there are tells. Heero doesn't have any.

Heero is... just Heero.

"Tell her you're dating me," she says, smirking faintly, and even as he blusters and growls a part of him says, 'oh.'

It's stupid to get involved with a coworker, and stupider with your partner; not that he thinks Heero would lose objectiveness, or that *he* would -- if he dropped the ball on a mission to protect her, Heero might kneecap him herself ... no, she wouldn't, but she'd do worse, she'd stop respecting him and pull away -- but there are regs. They fit too well to let something like this force Une to reassign them.

But a part of him says yes. It would be weird. It would not be husband-and-wife, clear defined roles and patterns to conform to. Heero would not let him protect her and she would not know what to do with the classical trappings of romance and he can't even imagine wrapping an arm around her shoulders to keep her warm; she could stand naked at the South Pole and it wouldn't occur to him. He'd probably just make a snarky comment about her frozen toes and she would snort at him and steal one of his pairs of socks. It would be nothing like what he had with Nataku.

He thinks maybe it's as perfect as it gets.

"That's interesting," she said, voice saying the opposite. "I always assumed you had designed me as a woman so I could do that on my own."

Hojo gave a faint, disdainful sniff. "Those are mere knockoffs. Cheaply done as a batch. They're fine in tanks."

Doctor Kanzaki's eyebrow twitched. He didn't contradict his boss, though. "Also it wasn't worth taking you off-duty for nine months when we can grow them in a tank in the first place," he added, which Sephiroth knew meant Hojo had denied the requisition for use of her womb.

Not that he owned it to rent out or not, or the rest of her, but Hojo always seemed to have trouble remembering that.

She watched the children through the glass.

She didn't like it, that they would use her genes without asking, even though it was nothing new. She wasn't sure what to do about it. Lodge a protest? Shinra would ignore it, or at best assume she wanted to own her genes and receive compensation, and she didn't. Legally no cell of her body, no hair she shed in the shower even belonged to her in the first place.

The children didn't belong to her, either. They should have, perhaps, but they didn't.

"It's a good thing anyway," Kanzaki was saying with a little greasy laugh. "The only good point of a pregnancy is what happens at the very start of it."

Sephiroth stared him down until he fell silent and turned back to the control panels and their glowing lights, uneasy.

She hadn't slept with the fathers, and yet here they were, merged together.

Perhaps she ought to ask them what they thought of the situation. She knew she ought to feel something, but all she could name of the odd little tangle in her chest was confusion. She honestly did not know how to react; but she didn't want not to react at all, either.

She'd have gone to Zack first but he was on assignment. She thought she'd ask Jon Galevik first. He was getting married next month. He had to have thought some about children -- the usual type, anyway, the ones that happened in normal families. Maybe between the two of them they could cobble a reasonable reaction to lab-grown clones.

It's funny that when she was a kid and flat as a board, her sexy no jutsu was pretty much what she hoped she would grow into. Now that she's sixteen, she has curves, not as much as she hoped -- nothing like the incredible, sensual perfection of a hourglass figure and full breasts, but still really nice.

Kyuubi, of course, has those curves somehow. The world is unfair. It doesn't look pneumatic either, airbrushed perfection ; it looks heavy and soft, something real, that your hands want to touch.

She's reclining on Naruto's bed and spilling out of Naruto's bra, the straps pulled taut. Naruto kind of wants to bite her.

When Naruto-kun walks in and then promptly gets a nosebleed, she locks him on the balcony and pull the drapes on him, and she tries to remind herself that it's kinda messed up to be jealous of your clone because your other clone didn't look twice at your clothed chest.

She knows leaving them behind wouldn't be fair -- if it worked at all. Still for a moment she wishes she could go sleep over at Sakura's.

I just made this little tiny sound of absolute GLEE because, well, I love genderbent AUs. So, so, so much. But trying to figure out what I want? That's when it gets difficult. So, femme!Sephiroth (or femme!Zack, if you'd rather) and male!Aeris in the Restore verse, mostly because I want to see how you'd write Aeris as a guy.

Prompt... Zack and Aeris teaming up to seduce Sephiroth and Cloud. (And Tifa? But you'd be writing five people then, so it's up to you.) I'm assuming this will be set sometime in the future. Or something. God, I adore all of these prompts.

I already did ZackAeris teaming up to flirt so to vary things a bit it's only Aeris, or else it would end up six pages long because i'd have to explore the yaoi zack/aeris dynamics as well.

The muffled thump reminds her of a body hitting a wall, a little bit. It's still not quite that, so Sephiroth doesn't bring along her sword when she goes down the stairs to check.

She finds Aerith in the backroom, hoisting a large canvas bag over his shoulder. He bends his knees, breathing out in a huff as he attempts to redistribute the weight. Sephiroth catches a corner of the bag and lifts before it can tip him over.

"Oh, good morning, Sephiroth." He grins at her from under the bag, head craned, already straining a little.

Sephiroth breathes in. "Is that... earth?"

"Soil, yeah. I managed to strike a deal with Billings; I now have a greenhouse of my own!" He beams, proud and happy.

"Congratulations," she says. She's seen the little corner of land Billings was selling; it's barely big enough for a garage, and stuck between the building the bar is part of and another as it is no decent-sized car can get to it. The only advantage is how close it is. Then again, Aerith did manage to make plants grow under the Plate; he must enjoy a challenge.

"Alright, I've got to go before I fall over," he sayd good-naturedly, and starts toward the door. Sephiroth snorts quietly and opens it for him, pointedly. "... It was open a second ago!" he protests, laughing, and wobbles a little.

Sephiroth gives him a dubious look. He firms his stance, gives her a look that's half challenge and half 'yeah, I know, okay?' with a dash of sheepish added on.

There are three more bags of soils waiting. He'll have broken his back out of pure stubbornness by the time he makes the second trip. Sighing a little bit, she swings two of them over her shoulder and tucks the last under her opposite arm. "Lead the way."

"I should probably -- huff -- be hurt in my manly pride," he comments, trudging down the street, bent double under his load. "I think. Must be in the handbook."

She smirks a little. "You would, if you hadn't planned it that way."

"Well." He laughs, utterly unrepentent. "It's a shame not to make use of a valuable asset, and it just so happens there's you three SOLDIER-types in this very house."

"Zack took Cloud for a spar, actually, so I suppose you were down to me and Tipheret."

"Might be better this way," he says brightly as they turn the corner, and frees a couple of fingers to wave hello at a neighbor watching them go past. The bag almost slides off. "You'd think after -- gnh -- knowing Cloud all these years, the neighborhood would be less scandalized, but... Little blonde, taller guy... I'm a cad!" he concludes.

He seems entirely too happy about it. Sephiroth tries not to smile, and fails. Aerith shouldn't be able to see it, but he seems to know anyway, because he almost tips over trying to turn to her and grin his "hah! gotcha!".

"You are a cad," she confirms obligingly, though the notion is so removed from her reality it becomes ridiculous. Aerith wheezes out another laugh.

"I detect a lack of enthusiasm in that answer, dear."

"I suppose being a cad is still preferable to having no manly pride left," she replies, slow and indifferent. A beat. "Speaking of. Perhaps I should carry that last bag as well before you strain something."

Aerith splutters, and then he laughs and laughs, so hard even the bag trembles on his back.

Sephiroth doesn't bother hiding her faint, satisfied smile from the next three neighbors they pass by, either.

"You know, I think I should let you," he says. Sephiroth knows he means it, he knows she's stronger and there's no competition, and he's fine with it; though that doesn't mean he's going to. She doesn't push, though. Friendly jabs are one thing but he would thank her for sparing his back just about as much as she would thank him for trying to shield her in battle, no matter how much she's bleeding at the time.

She has a book she was reading, and the household accounts to sort out, but she digs out parcels and waters seeds for the rest of the afternoon.

Hinata jerked in surprise, eyes skittering guiltily in the direction of that well-known voice. The low-grade blush already on his cheeks revved up. "Ah -- Naruto-san," he said, turning.

He shouldn't have been surprised. He had the Byakugan. He wasn't supposed to get surprised. (He'd just been raised better than to use it in the public baths, was all.) Seeing her standing there, in the corridor between the men's shower rooms and the locker rooms, though...

If only she hadn't been in a towel. A short, strained-at-the-top towel. A towel that looked a second or two away from flying open. He fixed his eyes on the wall over her head and tried to smile.

She smiled back, sort of. Naruto-san's smiles were so lovely precisely because of their lack of self-consciousness, so it was strange to see her so awkward, looking for words and not finding them. Hinata's brow furrowed in worry. "Um, did you need -- oh." Oh, he was slow. "Are you waiting for Naruhiko-kun?"

Naruto's sky-blue eyes widened in surprise, and then sparkled as she smiled again -- a real smile this time, tinged with relief and something like thankfulness. "Yeah. Heh, figures you knew him on sight."

"The resemblance is -- well, it's rather obvious," Hinata replied, rubbing the back of his head as he gave a small, shy grin.

"He didn't do anything weird, did he? Like, uh, I dunno how different it is on your side of the baths."

Hinata's cheeks warmed. "N-no, he did fine."

Naruto made a better man than he did, was what people might have thought upon seeing them together in the spring; brash and open, his laughter loud. That Hinata would l-lo-be interested in a girl like that was one thing -- one of the elders had called it 'sowing his wild oats' within Hinata's earshot with an eyeroll that implied that his wife had better be closer to Neji-neesan's poised, polished kunoichi.

Every second with Naruhiko, every playful splash or shove, made the knot in Hinata's stomach worse. The Hyuuga heir was to be no one's neko, no one's shy, submissive catamite. Hyuuga was a strong clan with a proud history and if, after doing his duty with a wife, producing strong heirs, he wanted a pretty male lover on the side... Well, as long as it was kept discreet, no one would say a thing. But when he thought about the old woodprints the only way it fit was the other way around.

"Um, anyway. He-he wasn't done washing when I" (fled) "left, but he should be done soon enough. So, um."

"Are you okay?" Naruto-san inquired, and she leaned in to peer at him. Hinata jerked his face away, flushing deep red. The towel -- oh gods and ancestors, the towel. "Oh! You stayed in the bath too long, didn't you? You're all red. Sit down, sit down, you'll fall over!"

"Um -- um, it's okay," he protested, but he couldn't bring himself to look at Naruto-san, so the next thing he knew he was sitting on a wooden bench between the men's and women's exits and desperately trying not to look at those smooth thighs disappearing under fluffy whiteness.

It wasn't much better when she leaned down to press their foreheads together to check his temperature, because then he could see nothing but cleavage. He squeezed his eyes closed, praying for Naruto-san's twin to come out of the shower quick and save him.

"What's that?" purred that voice he knew better than his own, in a tone he had never heard. When he opened his eyes there was another girl draped on Naruto-san's back, breasts pressed to a round shoulder and an elegant arm holding her from behind, so that the hand rested negligently just above the hollow between her breasts. Long hair tumbled down until it mingled, red and blond.

"Geroff, Kyuubi, you're heavy," he heard Naruto protest halfheartedly. The redhead Naruto-san purred. "Oops," she mocked, "towel." There was a loud, embarrassed squeak.

Well. There was only one solution to the whole situation. Hinata was never opening his eyes ever again.

Perhaps he could sell it to the clan as a new form of byakugan training.

(I'm still thinking about the LTR prompt because Sasuke being gays means if either naruto or sasuke are a girl then shacking up does not happen. They can still be a weird kind of friends, i guess, but i'm sad about it. having them both as chicks without changing anything else seems too easy XD)

Naruto tells him he's brave to demand training of Tsunade-sama -- everyone knows about the destruction their Hokage can wreak with one punch, and of course little savage that she is, Naruto approves of that.

Sasuke thinks it would be stupid to become someone's apprentice and not learn *everything* they know, and it's practical to have a healer in the team. Useful. (Haru hasn't been useful in many other ways, is the bland observation behind that, and they have two heavy-hitters already. And what if Naruto's pregnancy has complications.)

Kakashi hears about the training in politics, and nods without a word, his eye sober and thoughtful as he looks -- for once -- at Haru, and not past him.

None of them say anything about Haru's mentor (role-model) being a woman, but others do. Whisper, joke, look surprised at him. Isn't it weird for a boy to go to a woman to learn how to be strong? Is it more or less emasculating than simply being weak?

Maybe no one really believes it, but it's a little voice in the back of Haru's brain anyway, his brain that thinks too much, pushes too far, because the only way he could get any respect was by becoming harsh and ruthless enough to ...

... he thinks, there is one more role model he can use, because even with Tsunade-sama's chakra punches he'll never have Naruto's reserves or resilience, he'll never be Sasuke-fast or Sasuke-proficent with all jutsu elements. Like Tsunade-sama he can heal, almost like Tsunade-sama he can dodge and punch, but his greatest gift is with healing and he isn't sweet and gentle, selfless enough to be happy with only that.

But Kabuto. He can use Kabuto, or part of that template, at any rate. He can smile and be pleasant and be terrifying. Heal with one hand, and kill with the other. Keep his teammates alive, keep anyone from hurting them -- at least keep them from doing it twice.

He doesn't quite want to be Tsunade, and he doesn't want to be most of Kabuto. But somewhere inbetween, he thinks, maybe there is something that will suit him.

The look she throws him is full of the disdain of a woman who has sweated blood for years to gain entry in one of the most elite fighters' clubs in the world. He winces. Between the guys who can only see her as 'just one of the guys' anymore and the people who call her a bulldyke, his question must seem right at home.

"I'm saying that because I need advice for me! And you're a woman so you wouldn't, er, I mean, I doubt it would happen. Not the same way."

She gives a long sigh and takes a drag, lets the smoke escape through her set teeth. "Ah, imagining I suddenly have a dick would help me figure out your brain. You know, in most guys the little head downstairs isn't supposed to be the main one."

"Imagine you got someone pregnant," he barks out, reddening already.

Silence.

"Like, it happened a couple years ago and now they come around and hey there, surprise, you're a daddy. Can you imagine you're that?"

"God," she groans. But she stubs her cigarette and she turns to him. When she speaks next she's serious and a little wry. "Thank god and Shinra for the pill, but seriously this is making me want to get my tubes tied. Okay, way too late for abortion... What does she want? Booze? Money? A matching sibling? Bit off more than she could chew, and now she needs a free babysitter?"

"She's dying," Zack says abruptly. "Her dad's a pedophile and he's the only family she has left."

Silence.

"She can't let him have the kid," he says, more quietly, voice breaking.

"No, of course not," Kegarr answers, and briefly her voice goes quiet and sad. "But daddy has a career he can't leave, huh. Or you'd be long gone already."

And it hurts, that she might assume that of him -- but she's right too, he loves his job, he likes his life as it is now and leaving might not be a choice at all but it still hurts.

"Your parents are still alive, yeah? Maybe you oughta give them a call. They can't get you back but maybe they'd be good with getting their grandchild instead."

"No," he protests, "no, I'm asking you -- if it was you."

"Boy," she says. "I'm not you."

She lights up another cigarette. She's sorry for him, but her answer doesn't shift at all.

"I wouldn't even consider leaving at all, if I were."
