You guys should not let me meme. I never finish all the prompts. I always end up with another brand new 'verse or three added to my load. I am bad with memes. baaaaaaad.

I'm blaming hiza_chan somehow. I was reading her genderswitch meme and then I was like OMG WANT. But I don't feel imaginative enough to write genderswitch ANYTHING, needs some limits...

Then I started wondering what would be different in teamwork if Sasuke was born a girl.


Give me one of my fics (anything I've posted in english, be it Teamwork, Restore, the Swingersverse, ofic... or one of those drabbles I wrote months ago *), give me a character to genderswitch (two max), give me a writing prompt (a word? a moment in time? a sentence? an action? note, I don't do well with poetic prompts. Hell, the prompt is optional. I might whine if inspiration doesn't come, though.)
* (apart from the stuff I posted nowhere but in that "what's in your files?" meme. That stuff's disqualified.)

Basically I'll write a ficlet inside a genderbent!AU of my stories. (I'd prefer a born the other gender AU than a temporary genderbending, actually .__.) I don't have the brains to manage brand-new verses or fun and different explanations for genderflipping right now.

Hopefully I'll manage to write you something. I'll do my best. I just. ngh. genderbending. I can't stop myself. I'm a memeholic.

Not sure if this counts but... Locker Room Therapy. How about girl!Sasuke? Ooor, if that's too hard, girl!naruto. or... both? I guess that'd kinda screw with the whole locker room bit.

(I'm still thinking about the LTR prompt because Sasuke being gays means if either naruto or sasuke are a girl then shacking up does not happen. They can still be a weird kind of friends, i guess, but i'm sad about it. having them both as chicks without changing anything else seems too easy XD)

Naruto tells him he's brave to demand training of Tsunade-sama -- everyone knows about the destruction their Hokage can wreak with one punch, and of course little savage that she is, Naruto approves of that.

Sasuke thinks it would be stupid to become someone's apprentice and not learn *everything* they know, and it's practical to have a healer in the team. Useful. (Haru hasn't been useful in many other ways, is the bland observation behind that, and they have two heavy-hitters already. And what if Naruto's pregnancy has complications.)

Kakashi hears about the training in politics, and nods without a word, his eye sober and thoughtful as he looks -- for once -- at Haru, and not past him.

None of them say anything about Haru's mentor (role-model) being a woman, but others do. Whisper, joke, look surprised at him. Isn't it weird for a boy to go to a woman to learn how to be strong? Is it more or less emasculating than simply being weak?

Maybe no one really believes it, but it's a little voice in the back of Haru's brain anyway, his brain that thinks too much, pushes too far, because the only way he could get any respect was by becoming harsh and ruthless enough to ...

... he thinks, there is one more role model he can use, because even with Tsunade-sama's chakra punches he'll never have Naruto's reserves or resilience, he'll never be Sasuke-fast or Sasuke-proficent with all jutsu elements. Like Tsunade-sama he can heal, almost like Tsunade-sama he can dodge and punch, but his greatest gift is with healing and he isn't sweet and gentle, selfless enough to be happy with only that.

But Kabuto. He can use Kabuto, or part of that template, at any rate. He can smile and be pleasant and be terrifying. Heal with one hand, and kill with the other. Keep his teammates alive, keep anyone from hurting them -- at least keep them from doing it twice.

He doesn't quite want to be Tsunade, and he doesn't want to be most of Kabuto. But somewhere inbetween, he thinks, maybe there is something that will suit him.

as for LRT.. it's been a while since I read it and I"m not actually positive I read the second bit (I think I did, but..)... but, does Sasuke have to be gay? I mean... she could be regarded as a tomboy and everything already thinks she's gay, and the surprise is that she's not... oooor ..I dunno. I think I got distracted by the hot idea of aggressive!girl!suke and a boy naruto like that in such a fragile state. and.. I dunno. XD But it made you think which is the important part XD

LRT: what if one of them is trans? Then you can stick to the born-the-other-gender thing, but not have to change sexuality or any of the ships...

I thought about it, but being FtM instead of just plain M seems like cheating to me. It's not the spirit of the meme and it's not what I want to write either. Being a different, wrong sex is a totally different set of issues than "guess what would be different if they were a different gender".

of course he is. You know boy or girl Naruto and Sasuke are going to spare ten minutes for the misogyny in the system and then go "fuck that noise." Well, girl!Sasuke might have issues because she was raised to be a kunoichi like her mother (woohoo seduction/flower arrangement/genjutsu) instead of a ninja who has a real shot at being strong/devastating like her brother but that might piss her off and motivate her even more. XD And since it means that boysakura is not even as strong as his GIRL teammates le gasp he's the one who ends up with even more uselessness issues.

YES. YES, HARU, YOU NEED TO TAKE KABUTO AS YOUR SECONDARY ROLE MODEL. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE. DO IT!

Now if we could only get Sakura to properly do that in canon, too...

Boy!Sakura just made my day. XD I love the idea of Haru learning how to heal from Tsunade and, in a way, how to use that skill from Kabuto. Also, the idea of Haru going "*smilesmilesmileHARUKILL*" like Kabuto is actually perfectly in character for him. >DDD
