I cheated because I have about twice the number of files there, but half of them are long abandoned, and often also nothing but notes and no prose, anyway.

Some of the ones I listed here might be all notes and no prose, too, but they're still ideas I'd like to work on at some point.

Pffff. Not so much of a snow blanket of pristine whiteness, sorry. It's a blanketfic. XD;; Also it's oooooold. I think I started it before Valley of the End, even.



"D'you want me to warm you up, baby?"

Sakura giggles, even as she hits Naruto's arm. Sasuke almost groans at the lameness; he doesn't bother turning around to let them see his expression.

"Shut up and sleep, both of you."

"You come and sleep too, Sasuke. You're gonna be a frozen Uchihacicle tomorrow."

"No." He doesn't turn around, once again. He sits at the arrow slit, watching out, hands cupped in front of his lips to hide the white clouds of his breath.

"Oh yeah, the snow's gonna rise up and swallow us -- wait, it's done that already."

"Shut up and sleep."

"You come and sleep too," Naruto repeats; it's his stubborn voice. "You come and sleep with us."

Sasuke doesn't want to. He doesn't want to see them, snuggled together under the old, ratty blanket. He doesn't want to see Sakura -- his Sakura, the one supposed to love him; he doesn't know if he loves her or not, but she's not supposed to just decide that he isn't worth the wait after all, just like that -- watching Naruto with such badly hidden smiles. He doesn't want to see Naruto grinning -- not even because he was better than Sasuke, but just because he has her. It should mean to Naruto that Sasuke doesn't, that he has won against him. But it doesn't even mean that much, because Naruto has stopped caring.

Sasuke has lost them both, and they don't even notice.

"I'm keeping watch so you can sleep, so just sleep already!" he snaps, in an angry whisper.

There isn't anyone around for miles, and the snow is going to be too unstable to attempt walking on it for hours, he knows that. They'll be safe that long. Still -- he wants to sleep back to back with them about as much as he wants a hole in the head. They're being so ... cute. Stealing glances and touches when they figure he doesn't see, whispering to each other. He can't stand the thought of being this close as they cuddle, as they caress each other.

He wonders if they've had sex already, and tries to scour the thought from his mind.

"Oh well," Naruto replies. "Whatever."

It stings. It stings so goddamn much and he's so busy curling up on himself inwardly, he doesn't feel the blond closing in, until there's a hand in the back of his shirt. And then he's flying back, and wonders where the floor has gone. He lands on the thin mattress with a bone-jarring thud.

Vampirefic is this.


The vampire started moving, circling the bike as the bike circled it. Sasuke nocked another arrow, though he was starting to think that perhaps he should just pull out a gun, shoot it in the legs five or six times, and then go for the arrows. It really was too bad wooden bullets were so slow and impractical.

And then it blurred from sight. Sasuke swerved by instinct. Rubber protested; a shower of dust and dirt sprayed the ground in a wide circle as he pulled a 180.

Sasuke ducked low and hit the gas. A hand whizzed by overhead; the bike wobbled as something glanced off the back seat.

Fast, too fast, especially for its age. A vampire who wasn't even eight year old should never have possessed that kind of speed. It wasn't any use to think about "should have," though. Turned out the vampire was Master-class, the end. Sasuke had staked Masters before -- but not alone, and not without carefully choosing the time, place and weaponry. He had the fleeting thought that Kakashi would not be happy with him.

There hadn't been any choice, though -- not from the moment they became aware of each other.

He screeched to a halt and scanned the empty lot. There, by the fence, disappearing and reappearing in short bursts of speed. It was swift. Almost quicker than Sasuke could follow.

Almost.

This time, when the vampire blurred from sight, Sasuke only brought up the crossbow as a visual aid. The fire poured from his bare fingers, gushed forward like a jet of red-gold water.

And then it was in his mind and for a second his sight blurred. There was like a tug, and no, he hadn't looked into its eyes, it couldn't do that to him, it couldn't purr in his head and make him feel --

"Get out," he snarled, shoving more of his power into the blast.

"Just burn already!"

-- pride.

That wasn't fucking allowed. Sasuke was going to kill him -- it. It.

His arm slashed into a wide arc, following the trail of the vampire's movement. And fire again. The edges of his glove were curling away from his flames, smoking.

'Nice trick, little brother.'

Sasuke snarled and sent out a wider burst of power, a cloud of flame that swallowed everything.

When the fire dissipated, the only things still burning were the lonely patch of dry grass at the foot of the fence, and the bottom edge of his brother's long coat as he disappeared through the black hole of an empty doorway.

Folders. Lots of them. Though right now all the fandoms save gundam wing and naruto are stuffed together in a "divers" folder, because on the folder tree "fanfic" is the third folder and then "naruto" is the third folder in THAT and "teamwork" is the third folder THERE and then the "teamwork" .doc file is also third so it means I don't have to move my mouse at all, i can just click-click-click-click until it's open. XD I'm lazy.

Reiyel chuckled, and his hand slid down Askerian's bare arm, moving to his waist. Askerian tightened his own hold; it wasn't possessive and domineering if he did it first. Well, it was, a tiny bit, but -- oh, damn his issues. Reiyel would stop if he said stop; there was no need to overthink it.

He nuzzled Reiyel's chin; he smelled weird, too -- well, too male, but underneath was the smell of the herd, and that was something that had been lacking in all his latest girlfriends. It was comforting, in a way.

He kissed his throat; Reiyel's breath hitched. Was he pretending? Was he that sensitive? Or had he just wanted it so much? Reiyel's arms tightened around Askerian's waist, and the blond man twitched a little, wondering if he would be able to break that hold if he wanted to.

"You're thinking too much." Reiyel rolled onto his back, bringing Askerian with him. "There. You're on top."

"It's not as fun if you put me here yourself," Askerian commented dryly, though he didn't make a move to get off him. Reiyel was... not squishy. But on the upside, he didn't seem to be crushed by Askerian's weight either, which was good.

Reiyel chuckled. "You're the 'fighting for dominance' kind, aren't you. We could do that," he offered, eyes gleaming in amusement.

"Bah. You'd either win or throw it, which kind of defeats the purpose," the blond admitted, annoyed.

The vibration from Reiyel's laughter made something clench in his stomach. Askerian pushed himself up, looking down at him.

"Don't sell yourself so short, f--Askerian. I wouldn't use my magic."

"You're still bigger, and besides I saw you spar with Ashram. I'm more used to tackling things or stomping or kicking the shit out of them."

"We could fight as unicorns. Would you like that?"

Askerian stopped breathing. A honest-to-god duel, a real fight against another stallion... Hooves and teeth and horns, shoulder bumping against shoulder, and then a unicorn's body between his forelegs, a unicorn mane to nuzzle as he-- "Uh. Maybe not in the inn," he managed to squeak out. "Besides you don't know what to do with your horn, and it's so long I would have no problem slipping under your guard and --"

"... And you really, really like the idea, I see."

They cornered the intruder a handful of minutes later, in a dried-out creek. He wasn't looking so hot; there were bruises yellowing on his face and his clothes were stiff with old blood. Gai was too experienced to let it relieve him. Predators often were more dangerous when injured.

They were about to attack when he held his hands up over his head and knelt stiffly in the dust, letting whatever he'd been holding on his back slide off.

There was a small, pale hand, holding tight on the edge of his shirt. Head bowed, face hidden behind his bangs, the criminal whispered a quick order. After a second of hesitation, the hand let go.

Gai glanced at Tenten, who was in the best position to see behind the intruder. She was gaping.

The missing-nin looked up, eyes traveling over their team for a minute, to stop on Lee. Gai's favorite student cautiously didn't meet his eyes, holding his fighting stance. Gai was proud of how far Lee had come.

Then the silence was broken by the intruder's low, roughened voice.

"... Go with Lee," he said, nudging the child in full view.

The kid was small, maybe three or four year old. His short black hair was messy, his unhealthily pale skin streaked with dirt, his dark eyes wide and panicked. He looked in askance at the kneeling criminal, who turned him in the right direction and nudged him again, more sharply. "Go."

As the child stumbled toward Lee, the team tensed as one, expecting it to be a distraction. But the criminal didn't move at all, excepted to cross his hands behind his head in a clear gesture of surrender. Still kneeling, he looked up at Lee, expressionless. "Get him to Sakura, if you can."

Sasuke didn't even twitch when Tenten's needle hit him in the neck; he was still for a few seconds, and then he toppled over in the dust like a felled tree.

It took her a second, looking at the empty spot where Cloud had been standing, to realize what had just happened. Tifa dropped to her knees, crawled through old rubble to the edge of the hole on hands and knees, cautious but barely. She could see nothing down there but a big black void.

"Cloud?" she called. "Cloud!"

No answer.

"... Well."

Tifa stiffened at the voice, reminded of the man's presence. Moving up to one knee, she watched warily as he circled around to her side of the hole.

Sephiroth must have guessed what put such suspicion on her face; he gave her a faint snort. "There's a support beam just underneath you. Otherwise it's likely you would have followed him."

She shuffled her weight, feeling mocked and not knowing how to deal with that. Without Cloud to act as a buffer she had no idea how to handle him, apart from with open hostility. But they were supposed to be getting past that.

It would have helped if Sephiroth hated or disliked her half as much as she him, but what irritated her the most was that most of the time he didn't even seem to be giving her any second thought, tolerating and ignoring her as one of Cloud's inconsequential hangers-on.




"Well," she said briskly. "This isn't the first time that happened. He'll be okay."





Askerian: and they're all awkward and avoidant about being more or less alone together, and yelling down at cloud to try and figure out if he's okay and if he can climb back up. (short answer, he can't.)
Askerian: but when I tried to find the words, to figure out how it ended, there was a big fat nothing. My brain won't kick into gear.

Askerian: so much dust and ashes, he wouldn't see a weak section of the floor before it gave way

Sakura is waiting for them out in the street, arms crossed and foot tapping, damp hair pulled into a high bun and scrubbed-clean skin flushed. It doesn't seem like it's just because the water was hot.

Naruto turns red; he immediately gets self-conscious about whether he's walking weird and ends up overcompensating, which Sasuke could tell him only makes it more obvious he just had something up his ass.

"Um."

She gives the both of them a long unimpressed look. "Next time I swear I'll scale the wall." She doesn't specify whether it'll be so she can throw soaps and brushes at them or ...

"They have jutsu to stop that," Naruto blurts out. "-- Um, not that I tried or anything."

Sakura's disgruntled frowns melts into a smirk. "Actually, not on the women's side. Not that I tried or anything."

Sasuke snorts. "I knew I felt someone watching." And as Naruto flails, he adds, "Next time warn me, I'll find a better angle."

I love your ChiChi and Bardock! And your description of ChiChi and Goku's early days in their marriage. You have the amazing ability of making characters that were only given two dimensional/sterotypical roles in the manga shine and become people that you want to read more about.

Ahh, the inSPACE. I posted the only prose I've got for it here, so the rest is all confusing notes and AIM chats. XD;



Askerian: i had a tentative history for sakura where.. okay there's a war in the background, and she wanted to be a field medic, but her parents pulled strings and got her to do her internship at the ass end of the galaxy so she'd be out of the way, which is why she's in the research lab poking at sasuke
Askerian: but it's unsteady
Askerian: 1) field medicine and research are very different beasts
Askerian: 2) if she's just a lowly lab tech she wouldn't be alone with sasuke or get to ask him much
Askerian: maybe if she wanted to solve/fix x problems due to Y biological weapon that the other side is using on the battleground, that's more research oriented
Askerian: and then when she's sent for her internship she's taken to sasuke's station because she's very gifted, and she finds an enthusiasm for it because she thinks the BEEPBEEP SPOILER might have a solution for it!

Askerian: if she was a lab tech she might get to draw blood but he would get to utterly ignore her as she does it

It was the last time, Naruto swore, that he would ever, ever let Kyuubi try a Henge. Or, well, anything pertaining to ninjutsu. The fox might have a huge amount of chakra, but that didn't mean that he knew how to mold it like a human did. It should have been a bit obvious, really, seeing as foxes didn't have hands to shape seals with in the first place. But somehow, he'd assumed ... well, he didn't know what he'd assumed. Maybe that the stupid demon-fox had observed the way Naruto was doing it often enough.

Yeah right; fat chance.

/Like I have nothing better to do than watch you,/ came the snide reply.

'But you DON'T have anything better to do,' Naruto snipped back as he tried once again to get up -- and fell on his ass.

"OW."

Or, well, something that felt like it should have been his ass, but not really. It was hard to explain how that felt.

It still hurt like a sonofabitch.

Naruto growled and carefully rolled on his hands and knees, wincing as he inadvertently leaned on the tip of a tender appendage.

"Yeah, well, if you think I'm used to have these huge... wavy... fluffy THINGS attached to my ass-- ohh FUCK!"

The Kyuubi had retracted far enough not to share his physical sensations; Naruto reeled him back in, snarling, and shoved the pain at him.

Stupid fox barely showed a bit of fang in annoyance.

/That hurts? Weak./

"I'm not used to having my fucking ass hurt so fucking much --"

"What are you talking about?" Sasuke asked as he stepped around the corner. "You haven't deigned to bottom in..."

Sasuke paused, stared at his boyfriend, still kneeling on the ground, then a little higher behind him. And blinked.

Uchiha Sasuke didn't gape.

"... weeks," he finished, his voice barely wavering. "What the hell is that?"

"Uh, you see -- Sasuke NO, DON'T OWW OWW OWW, MOTHERFUCKING SON OF A FLEA-INFESTED BITCH--"

Sasuke blinked again. And gave a considering look at the furry appendage he still held in his hands.

"Pull again and I'll bite your balls off."

Her eyes scan the rooms for a mop. A pole. Something mop-like. She doesn't care. Something she can swing around. There's nothing, of course, only scrolls and cases bolted down to the ground. She's going to catch up and she'll be utterly weaponless, and no, she'd only manage to get killed in front of Kaito and then he'd call her stupid and worse.

This side room marks a path toward weapon exhibits. It's leaving the track. She stares at the blood on the ground, and then she runs.

Katana which she cannot use. Ancient bows without rope. Crossbows without quarry.

Bo staffs.

The first doesn't feel right. Not balanced properly. The second does. She's already halfway back to the blood tracks when she realizes why.

She's used to the heavier head of a mop; her muscles know to compensate for it.

The curved blade at the end of the staff doesn't spread out to the sides, but stretches along the line of the shaft. It's old and beautiful, faded dragons winding their way up to the place where steel emerges. It's likely priceless.

She could hurt someone with it. A lot.





Kaito would dodge that. It would make a satisfying thump against a wall, though, the thick bristles of the mop dampening the jarring impact at least a little. (He'd jump up and land on the broom handle to push it down toward the ground, and she'd follow it up with a rotating sweep, to try and hook him behind the knees.)

This man doesn't, cannot, dodge like Kaito does.

She leans her weight into the thrust, and it's easy; slides in not like butter, something hard catches a little inside (inside him bone) but she's heavy and he's heavier and they're both moving toward each other. Pretty math, logic, unsurprising.

The blade won't go any deeper. He topples down slowly and the shaft pushes into her side; she drops to one knee rather than letting go, twists her upper body to the side, bends.

Something cracks loud and sharp, but nothing happens, nothing hurts.

There's noise and people yelling -- Kaito? Kaito. There's people running, behind her, in the corridors, it echoes. Voices she knows. Adults. It's all a mess of noise and colors (like the mush that used to be the little boy's --) but she can't, everything is moving so slowly, they'll get here too late to save Kaito. She tugs on the shaft but it's stuck, so she puts her foot against the man's chest and she heaves back, and she gets back up (barely stumbles). The mop (spear) is still tucked tight and firm against her side, right arm wrapped around and left hand fingers curled ahead so she can aim, like it's been ever since she charged in, and she thinks maybe her father would be a little proud because he keeps complaining about all those stupid newbies he's teaching who keep dropping their weapon. You don't ever drop your weapon.

this is actually a sequel to Kiss Me, Stupid, the huge narusasusaku porn. there was supposed to be more porn in there, mostly of the oral variety, but it fizzled. Mergh.




"I'm going to miss that inn," Naruto sighed as he gave a last forlorn look at the building over his shoulder.

Sasuke snorted. "It's not going to miss us."

Sakura didn't say anything; she was the one who had to deal with the innkeeper and her face was still deep red.

Naruto already felt nostalgic. The onsen where he'd first caught Sasuke expressing an interest in sex (and spying on Sakura). The shower room where he'd first realized that Sasuke was happy to see him, too. The corridor where Sakura had not punched him when he suggested they could share, where they'd let him kiss them, kissed each other. The bedroom where they'd had break-the-bed, piss-off-the-neighbors monkey-sex.

"I really wish we could have stayed longer," he muttered, and okay, maybe it sounded like whining, but neither of his teammates told him to shut up, so he concluded they agreed with him.

"It's not the end of the world," Sakura reassured him. "There will be other inns, and..."

"Not if the first warns the next ones," Sasuke commented prosaically.

"They wouldn't!"

"They would." Sasuke shrugged. "We can always camp out."

Naruto grinned. "We could camp out now!"

"No," Sakura and Sasuke chorused, though at least Sasuke didn't look all that enthused. But then, he never did.

"Mister Strife!" The old man waved at him, a friendly grin on his lined face. "Wasn't expecting you 'til this afternoon. It's a long trip from Midgar."

Cloud dismounted, parking his bike against the wall of the stable to keep it out of the way. "I left early."

The ranch was a cheery sight; green-new grass, freshly repainted buildings, and the background whistles and chirrups of a contented flock. Pitchfork in hand, Old man Bill was in the process of moving straw in an enclosure.



He eyed the busy enclosure; Bill waved him at it, so Cloud decided it was permission enough to approach.

There were quite a few adult yellows in the pasture, solid work birds. There were a green, too, and Cloud's aging black and his gold, which he stabled there in exchange for stud service.

In the double-fenced corner of the enclosure where all the excited kweh!s and piaa!s came from, he could see a few metallic flashes that let him know his gold was being put to good use.

He climbed on the lowest bar of the fence and peered at this spring's chicks. The biggest group was the yellows, but this time around they weren't even half of the total. Along with the gold chick, he counted three reds, two purples, two pinks, three blues, a black, two greens, and a white. Unexpected; old Bill usually didn't breed twitchy racers or fancy-colored, terrain-specific birds, though he stabled them readily enough.

"I see you're branching out," Cloud said.

"Yep yep. What with everyone tryin' t'save energy, people want more and more chocobos. Harder to care for than a cab or a snowmobile, but at least you don't need a Reactor to make 'em move. But then of course it's like they want the birds to be just as prettifiable."

Cloud chuckled almost soundlessly. "Right. Making good money, then?"

"Ayep. The new stable 'll be built and paid for before those are big enough to need one box each."

Cloud nodded slowly, watching as the chicks started to notice his presence and trotted to the fence to look cute at him. One of the pinks, a yellow and two blues trilled an improvised little song, flashing their big, hopeful eyes at him, and the black danced in a circle in front of him, trampling an unlucky green and provoking a battle that would have looked more serious if the bitter enemies didn't look like fuzzy balls on sticks. An aging yellow bird, who'd chosen to hang around while the mothers foraged, waded in the mess and pecked the little troublemakers until they hunkered down and warbled an apology.

Slowly, the activities of the chicks went back to normal. A few kept hanging around the fence where Cloud was, hoping for food; he scratched them gently and then shooed them away. The troublemaking black was now busy strutting around with a stick in its beak and daring other chicks to try and pull it free. The little gold climbed on top of a rock to survey his kingdom, and kept overbalancing and crashing down, only to get right back to climbing. Other chicks ran around, dug dusty holes to roll in, or cuddled and preened by twos or threes.

The only unmoving, solitary one was the white chick, standing with its tail end to a corner and watching the crowd with stiff alertness.

"Haven't seen a white in a while," Cloud commented.

Bill threw a pitchforkfull of straw over the fence, prompting half the chicks into running away and the rest into running right at it to dive in. "Ayep. They don't breed well outside of Mideel."

Cloud frowned faintly as the little white gave a rowdy group of chicks a wary look and retreated farther in its corner. "Is she sick? She's not playing."

"White one? Naw, just shy. Mom's a twitchy one."

The farmer spat on the ground; Cloud frowned and arched an eyebrow in question.

"Bought the mother egg-fat, off a guy who kept her alone in some kind of courtyard. Walls all around and a cement ground, so she didn't even remember how to run or what grass was for. Half-wild, she was." The old man shook his head, giving the little white a pensive look. "It's not good for a chocobo to grow up without a flock or without seeing the wild. They get scared of damn near anything they ain't seen before, get neuroses and whatnot. Lucky this one'll grow right out of it."

itasasusasu_backfuture is actually more of this. The only unposted tidbit left in the file is this:

"Evening."

Their new cousin is tall, almost slender, the lines of his body hidden under a dark blue kimono. It's a little unexpected to see such an old-fashioned article of clothing on a young man who doesn't look seventeen. Perhaps he is even younger, or perhaps he's well over twenty ; it's hard to say, though -- he has the smooth face of the noble bloodlines and the eyes of someone older than his years.

"Good evening. I hope we didn't make you wait too long."

At least he doesn't seem out of place, with his pale skin and jet-black hair that bristle out of its high ponytail. He looks more pure-blooded than many of the Uchihas that Itachi knows.

"...I survived."

He also looks like the ANBU should start investigating Itachi's uncle Hiroto, his mother's older brother; eighteen years ago, Hiroto-san would have been just old enough for that kind of youthful indiscretion.

"So you did." Shisui's lips quirk up in amusement.

Their new cousin's unfriendliness is quite blatant. His tone and stance are barely short of outright hostility. Itachi's eyes narrow; perhaps it's the permanent red eyes, but he's tempted to read it as a threat. For all the teen's stillness and the relaxed, almost contemptuous way he's reclining against the wall of the tea shop, he seems ready to lash out any second.

XD Why not! But this isn't a real fic yet, it's just notes and a small snippet of actual writing. I mostly ignored the Enma arc entirely.


Tsuna can't sleep because his room has flimsy walls and a window and he doesn't feel safe. He goes around the house looking for someplace to sleep, testing several places.
Thinks "hey didn't dad dig out a basement a few years back"

Back in the day he'd never really wondered. His father had wanted a basement for his expensive European wine bottles. Even though he almost never drank them anyway. Tsuna who couldn't care less about his strange father's strange decisions had forgotten about it all, because as soon as the dust settled his father was gone again. He remembered his outrage much more clearly.
Now he couldn't believe he'd been so naïve and incurious. It wasn't a basement his father had dug out. It was a bunker.
He smothered the burst of relief and gratitude. It was just too weird to feel the kind of feeling he should feel when his dad did his job as a dad.
If that made sense.

Someone else (yamamoto? No, he has his dad. Gokudera? Hrrm.) arrives and asks if they can stay, he smiles and in the end they sleep in his room, it helps knowing the bunker is here but with someone else here he can sleep.



Askerian: so they come back from the ten years later arc and they're all kinda... shell shocked. >__> and it's becoming hard to sleep because they used to share dorms, and every garbage truck going BEEP BEEP startles them into battle mode, and the classmates and the parents and normal friends feel ... so detached from them
