Pick one of my stories and I will tell you the first lines of its prequel OR sequel (choose one!). Even if I was never actually planning to write a prequel/sequel. Even if it already has a prequel/sequel -- I'll give you the first line of another version of its prequel/sequel!

And this time I'll really try to keep it short, not like the last time I tried those. >__> HAHAHA I jest.

For reference purposes, here's the list of my longfic masterlists and the ficlets who already do have sequels/prequels of their own. If there's a ficlet that's not on there you can request something for it anyway! You don't even have to link me first, I'll find it (if I truly was the one who wrote it, cause i've gotten confused about that stuff before. XD) Or there's my ffnet page. Any fandoms, go go go.

"So when do we get to meet your young man?" Kaito asked with a bright, totally innocent smile.

"You have a young man?" Ran said, and paused in the middle of pouring him a cup of tea. Saguru sighed. So much for brining up the topic in a cautious and controlled manner.

"Yes, actually, that is the reason I requested you all meet me here today."

Heiji made a show of looking around. "Usually when you introduce a new in-law, you bring 'em with."

"That isn't -- he isn't... a new in-law." A pause, as he felt his way through words he couldn't be sure conveyed what he wanted them to. "Yet. Or ever. Depending how you mean it."

Kazuha threw Ran a look, and took the teapot from her hand to finish filling his cup. Saguru gave her a little nod. He and Kazuha-san had always had a weird sort of relationship, one that was defined mostly by what it wasn't. They weren't close friends. They certainly weren't lovers. (Saguru not being into women in general, and Kazuha not being into men other than Heiji-kun in particular.) They were bound nevertheless.

It was a little strange to let go of this bond.

No use lingering.

"I have no idea how appropriate this sort of announcement is, but I didn't feel like stopping returning calls and hoping you would get the message."

It would have been cowardly. He didn't do cowardly.

"Schwartz-san is looking for an exclusive relationship." He gentled his voice, let his regard and his... his care bleed through. "So am I."

Silence in the room. He waited, didn't even pick up his cup to hide behind. Kazuha-san and Kuroba-kun he didn't expect would have anything to say to him; he wasn't lovers with either of them.

... He wasn't Ran-san's lover either but he thought she might speak first, because -- because she was Ran-san, and it made sense for her. Kudo-kun... No, Kudo-kun was looking to Hattori-kun. To Heiji. Deferring to him.

Everyone knew Heiji was his favorite. Saguru caught a fleeting look of surprise -- loss -- on his face and had to pick up his cup and drink, then, past a suddenly-tight throat, because they'd never talked about it but it seemed perhaps Heiji had liked him back, that way.

He'd only ever been second, though; Heiji's lover was Kazuha-san and his best friend Kudo-kun. It had been enough for a long time. It wasn't anymore.

"... That's it?" Heiji said, voice nonchalant and eyes serious, a little sad. "You didn't need ta make it sound like a death sentence." He sighed, smiled in wry acknowledgement, alright, this kinda stings but no hard feelings.

"I still wish to stay your friend." Saguru looked at Heiji first, but at the others next, meeting their eyes one by one.

"Well, there's no reason for that to stop, is there?" Heiji's eyes sparkled back to life, a teasing grin stretching his lips. "But if he doesn't put out you know where to find me."

Beside him, Kaito nodded, falsely serious, except for his eyes which were in entire, deadly earnest. "And if he doesn't respect you in the morning you know where to find me."

"I'm not sure I should be hearing that," Kudo-kun drawled. "That might count as premeditation, you know."

As they started to tease and laugh all around him Hakuba smiled and drained his cup. He couldn't wait to see what they and Schwartz-sensei would make of each other. It promised to be very entertaining.

Saguru couldn't introduce him to his father and grandfather, but there were other kinds of in-laws.

The NaruSasu one, you mean? Or the blobsuke one? I'm going with the narusasu one because blobsuke hasn't got enough plot or spoilers floating out here that I could write a sequel anyway. XD;

When he lays eyes on today's high-paying client Sasuke's first reaction is to slam his hand down on the controls that will break the docking seal and vent all oxygen from the cargo hold. He'd have about five seconds to clip on a tether and get his mask on, but he has the advantage of knowing where to get one.

He doesn't know where Naruto's psychotic clone wants them to fly him. He doesn't care. "I thought we agreed to keep out of each other's way," he says instead, voice calm and bland and most of all uncaring because that's the best way to get under that fucker Kyuubi's skin.

Kyuubi doesn't smirk at him, doesn't twitch, doesn't drawl out some filthy, disturbing promise. He just stands there, blue eyes shadowed and strangely heavy, brooding, and for a moment Sasuke wonders if maybe he didn't get it wrong, if Naruto doesn't, like most clones, have more than one clone-sibling in his batch.

"I'm gonna tell Dark you're stealing his sulky-emo schtick," Naruto says, a step behind Sasuke and to the side, and Sasuke breathes a little deeper. Naruto doesn't seem scared, just wary.

(Oh, and apparently Kyuubi isn't the only exception to a batch of strangely well-adjusted smiling optimistic idiots. What kind of name is Dark, seriously? Sasuke briefly imagines a Naruto in heavy eyeliner and mesh and cringes on the inside.)

(Sasuke briefly wonders if the Kyuubis and Darks aren't the normal spectrum for this batch, and his Naruto isn't the exception.)

(Or maybe his Naruto isn't an exception in anything but his ability to lie.)

"You said you were the best in the business."

Sasuke doesn't bother replying, though Naruto lifts his chin proudly, defiant but oddly hopeful (like a kid who keeps getting bullied by his big brother but still wants nothing more but for that big brother to acknowledge him, not that Sasuke knows anything about that.) "Damn straight we are! Small, sneaky crafts that can kick ass, there's no one better!"

"Good. I need you for an extraction in Mist space."

"A two-person team doesn't kick enough ass for Mist space," Sasuke replies before Naruto can commit them to this stupidity. "No one's that good."

"A three-person team will have to be that good," Kyuubi replies, voice low and rough with banked rage. And then he looks at Naruto and he lays his trump card; Sasuke knows that just from the way Naruto's face drains of color, even though he has no fucking clue who they're talking about.

"Turns out they're the ones who have Minato."

Naruto blinked at him from behind his desk and poked his crooked hat back into place. (it promptly slid back down over his other eye instead.) "But wasn't the issue that the Branch can't marry or have, uh," a quick check of the dictionary open on the table beside him, "dalliances outside of the clan?"

Neji breathes in. Neji breathes out. Neji thinks about how well he gets along with Uchiha Sasuke, and how much they've both always know that eventually it'll have to end, when Sasuke gets married. And how he is never getting drunk and maudlin around his Hokage ever, ever again.

"I don't care how legal it is, am I supposed to grow a womb?!"

"Oh, that! Sakura-chan tells me she's got it down and her whole team is briefed and ready, so whenever you guys get down to it I guess. But between you and me, Sasuke's the one who wants tons of brats so you should probably get him to get preggy with his fair share."

And then Naruto winks.

Neji has a Gai-conditioned response to winks.

Aha. I'm writing the sequel already and i'm not sure how much of my bunnies will get in it, so... hrrm, difficult.

The city doesn't sing to him.

It sings for John and Carson, and for all the people who got the successful gene therapy it whispers. He doesn't have the markers, though. There are no Ancients in his genealogy, not even enough for a latent gene to be awakened. (He has his theory on that, but he doesn't share. They're all still pretending they haven't figured out yet where to find Heero's own Earth.) To him the city is merely aesthetically pleasing, and full of booby traps.

It sings to Wing, though. When he wakes up every morning Zero's code has evolved into whirlpool patterns and flowering trees.

Of the ones Heero trusts enough to tell only McKay sees the poetry in lines of binary and base code. Only he understands what it means, what Heero is showing him.

Zero is awakening into life.

Heero doesn't yet know if it's an amazing thing, or a terrible one.

"I don't breathe plasma," Scythe growled, and puffed out a curl of flame through his nostrils. His black leathery hide briefly sprouted blood-red patches like some kind of evil mask and faded back to rest-black.

"No, you're just half-chameleon," Kai retorted, making a show of cleaning her long, sharp claws. "Who would want that passed down to their eggs I don't know. The egg would come out all lizardy."

"The egg would not come out lizardy! The egg would come out just fine! And we can tell," he hurried before she could interrupt him, "because Wing's half-bird and Zero came out of the shell with just as many feathers as she's got! So hah. My eggs would not come out scaly, and shut up."

"Zero has more feathers than Wing does, actually," Heavyarms commented lazily, with the innocent air of someone planning to throw a great deal of oil onto the fire. "Perhaps if we let him breed his own offspring will have gone back to being birds. Carrier pigeons, was it?"

Watching Kai rear back and hiss, tail curled to shield her her heavy, egg-laying-ready belly, Scythe was for one brief moment very, very vindicated. Teach her to succumb to that too-young (and ridiculously powerful) upstart (with the impressive crest and jaw-feathers and plasma breath.)

(Teach Wing to succumb to that creep Epyon, while he was at it. No, seriously. Epyon? Wing'd chosen to get an egg by Epyon rather than him?)

"So, er. Hey, 'Arms." He didn't want to say his theory was wrong, though -- his descendents were not going to be lizards, dammit! -- but anyone who could get on Kai's nerves so beautifully he technically approved of. He sidled closer. "Whaddya say about testing a theory--"

"You're not giving me an egg either, lizard-boy," she drawled.

When his partner got there with the good news that he wouldn't have to be snipped after all Deatscythe was still sulking.

Goddamn.

"There, there," Duo whispered to him. Scythe manfully pretended not to hear him choke down a snicker. "Maybe there'll be easier-to-impress dragonesses with the Maganacs."

Deathscythe perks up. His partner laughs. Bah, he doesn't get the brilliance of Deathscythe's new plan. Surely once they see the magnificent eggs he's been siring on everyone not them, the only three dragonesses in his class will realize the error of their ways.

And in the meantime he gets a lot of tail.

I have so many fics in this timeline, please choose one specific one to write a sequel for! Because so far the last one I have posted is when they're already in their forties. I'm tempted to do something with that last kid she's talking about, but he'd be older and that means team seven would be in their fifties/sixties, and it'd be mostly about him and not his parents as anything but satellite, which is probably not what you want.

I think it would start with the lines:

"For someone who is a mix of Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto's genes, Yukito's mild, laid-back disposition is nothing short of confounding. Sometimes Sakura entertains herself with the thought that her last child is so easy-going out of sheer perverseness. No doubt he would have inherited it straight from her, somehow."

They'd moved Relena's bedroom a couple nights ago, as per the usual security protocol. There were a lot of empty suites in the Sank palace anyway, and Relena had found she enjoyed changing decors without having to put up with the actual redecorating.

A lot of them were likely occupied at the moment, though, because Sank was hosting a political convention.

Finding some strange old politician in Relena's previous bed might have explained the frown on Heero's face, but she had a feeling the issue was that he had found her at all; obviously that would be a security issue to fix up to his standards, and not yet another proof of that uncanny ability he had of finding her just about anywhere, when he put his mind to it. It was too late at night for her to allow him to berate her Head of Security, though. She sat up in bed and patted the mattress at her side, smiling around a yawn.

She didn't ask him where he'd been, this past month, or tell him what an unexpected pleasure his being there was. The only thing that mattered was whether he needed to go, not where or when or even why, and she wasn't about to try to guilt him about it.

She didn't mind, anyway. Heero was happiest when living like Heero should, and while that wasn't the way most everyone else lived, Relena didn't see why that ought to be relevant.

"Come to bed," she said. "We'll talk in the morning."

Over breakfast. Which she was going to take with a strange young man who had appeared in her bedchamber at night, and there was only the one bed there. Oh, the delightful little scandal that would cause.

Oh well, the old, crusty office-seekers needed something to keep themselves amused while Relena and her like-minded peers did the work. She scooted over to the side and closed her eyes, trying to listen to any sounds Heero might accidentally make as he undressed.

There weren't many. She knew he was there anyway, could feel him with something deeper, more instinctive than any of the five senses. Likely wishful thinking, but the kind of whimsy she liked to indulge, in the back of her mind where no one else had to know.

When the mattress dipped under his weight she was already half-asleep again. She smiled and took the hand that wasn't on his gun over the sheets.

Oho. this one? argh, i tried to find you something but i'm getting sleepy and SO braindead, nothing came. I like the thought, though, so in the meantime i'm gonna cheat and give you this drabble I wrote a while ago and -- I think -- never posted about Blue's childhood.

One day he lost his mother's name. He was five year old and wasn't sure why the big change, and he didn't like it much. Sevag. How weird. Sometimes he even forgot to turn around, even when he knew perfectly well he was the one they called.

The only thing that was even remotely good about his new name was that the people in his class couldn't make as many silly songs with it. Sev-sevie-sevag, Sevanouchka, and that was pretty much it. He would have liked the old jokes better, and the old fights and the old spankings for punching people in the nose, because at least they were about his and his mother's name and that meant they were still the same, two of a kind.

Sevag wasn't his name, it was a stranger's name, and he was deaf to it. See, mother, I have your name and I want no other.

Eventually his mother sighed and closed her eyes and never called him by his private name again. And he was Sevag even to her, and Kem to none.

When he was eleven, he met the other Sevag, the older one. They were nothing alike, even though he was tall and thin like not-Sevag (Kem) promised to be, and they had the same narrow eyes, and Kem could hear him like he never heard his mother. Older-Sevag slouched and seemed to want to be elsewhere, and he probably would have been, but Kem could tell the man in a business suit was the one who held the leash. The man in a business suit was all thin smiles and calculations and talked about thankfulness and familial obligations and opportunities, and encouraged him to the test.

If he did good on the test, then he would have a lot of opportunities, just like that father he knew nothing about. So he failed it.

When he left the test center and saw his mother's tired, disappointed face, he knew he still wasn't going to get his old name back, and it was too late anyway.

When he was fourteen, he left school. Less fees for her to kill herself paying that way. He never had another real conversation with her after that.

I already have several in the plotting stages and I have no clue what'll go into each one exactly, but I already know the key scenes for much of Eiichi's first years, so trying to make up a brand new one in the middle or trying to guess where it all ends up so I can plot after *that* might mess up the bunnies ^^; Also I'm brainded with sleepiness right now and to write a family of such weird, scary smart people would likely not work out very well. Naruto adopts Sasuke into his clan

BECAUSE I LOVE CLAN FIC.

Also, the anime animated Sasuke's fight with the kages/Danzou as well as his little 'FUCK YOU DAD KAKASHI' bout, and there's a filler arc going on while Naruto travels to the Island. I think KB raps at some point and there's another earlier filler episode with Gai and Kakashi post his Sixth Hokage thing. Just thought I'd fill you in.

"So do you have any idea who you want as concubines?"

Sasuke pauses, and then carefully puts down the brush and its dripping tip. (he cannot see his hand anymore, but he can still feel it, the ability to translate memory into action being one of the cornerstones of the Sharingan bloodline.) He tips his head toward Naruto, not fully.

"What? 'course I'd ask you, you're the wife."

"... Naruto."

"--Not in the sense that you're anything like a chick, geez! I mean I'm clan head, yeah? Any kids will be mine by default, legally." His voice quiets down, loses the fake lightness. "But if I take a wife with actual womanbits... Then she's the wife and you're only a..."

"Only one of the concubines," Sasuke replies without heat.

"... I think legally the elders wanted to call that adopted brotherhood or whatever."

Sasuke snorts. The elders can tell themselves whatever soothing lies they wish. Here, between their walls, they know the truth.

Naruto wants him to be the first concubine, because that's almost as good as being legally wedded. Oh, he still won't have any legal rights or any authority outside of the household, but the terms of Sasuke's punishment mean he wouldn't have anyway.

This...

What Naruto is offering him here -- Sasuke choosing the concubines, because he'll be the one who has children with them, Sasuke being given as much authority as he can possibly hold, it's...

"I won't sleep with them if you're not there."

"What? You don't have to promise me that, it's fine if--"

Sasuke allows himself one short burst of frustration. "I don't want to, dimwit!"

Silence. Sasuke hates it. It isn't natural for Naruto to be quiet, still. Sasuke can't read him when he's that way.

What Naruto is offering, it's that behind that pretense of being the head of the household, Sasuke will be the husband, with the wives, and the children, and Naruto will just be... he's not sure. His celibate elder brother? His... male lover, who might indulge in the pleasures of a woman that's his mostly just in name, and otherwise treat them all as little sisters, because in truth Sasuke is the one siring, parenting their children?

With Naruto's self-sacrifical streak the idea must already be pretty entrenched. Sasuke's pride is in tatters but it's still hard to bring out words strong enough they'll knock him off his stubborn ideas.

"I don't want to be their husband," Sasuke forces out, very quietly. "I want to be yours." He bares his teeth, glares at where he's vaguely aware Naruto must be. "So either you're here taking equal chances, or nothing happens."

And it's alright with him, oh god is it alright. He already knew he would love any child of his, even if they weren't blessed with the Sharingan. But here and now he knows he will love Naruto's, too.

They would have his protection regardless, of course, for services rendered, but he might even come to personally give a damn about the wombs on legs who'll be providing them.

"... let's not ask Sakura," is the last thing he whispers before Naruto is on him, mouth wet and salty with something like tears, a low growl of anguish and resentful gratitude vibrating in his throat.

The issue there is that at the end of that fic Itachi and Sasuke go their separate ways with the understanding that Sasuke will still go after Itachi to kill him at some point. And by that point he's already controlling his nekomata powers okayish, and then he ends up back in Konoha, and so the sequel would start in a place/mood/emotional resonance that has nothing to do with the first fic anymore. ^^;

Out of the blue, I have a sudden desire for a sequel to Ichigo Has Two Girlfriends, First Christmas With edition.

Ichigo is not used to sitting seiza, and his knees ache and he hasn't been able to feel his feet for the last ten minutes. (Tea ceremonies are long.) If he had to get up, he knows he would stumble.

Nothing in the world will ever convince him Kuchiki Byakuya doesn't know that.

Of course the guy's been sitting like that all his life, so he wouldn't have the same problem. Nothing in the whole of the mortal realm, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo will ever convince Ichigo this isn't all according to plan.

Ichigo stays silent and takes a sip of his tea, though the only reason he does is that Rukia was the one who prepared it, right there under his eyes, and there is no way Byakuya would risk his precious little sister getting exposed to poisoned ingredients. (The fact that Byakuya drank first doesn't help at all, because Ichigo bets he'd have the antidote on him.)

"Kurosaki Ichigo," Byakuya says, cool like a death sentence. "I hear you have taken my little sister as one of your concubines."

Yep, nothing in the universe can possibly convince Ichigo this wasn't intended as a death trap. He bets there's already an Ichigo-sized hole dug out and waiting under the camellias. The fun thing is he knew that from the moment they received the invitation, and yet here they are. He must be suicidal.

The proof is that even as Rukia gives a polite, well-bred, fake laugh, he can't help but mutter, "Other way around there."

And then as Byakuya stares, Orihime blushes and says dreamily, "Oh, I want to be the Sultan next time. Layered silk veils! Reds and oranges and yellow too. Like sunshine and lemons and oranges. Kurosaki-kun is bright and sharp and strong like summer sun and citrus; he definitely needs a yellow outfit."

"I do believe we have bolts of silk in storage," says Rukia modestly, and eyes him up and down. "They'll suit pretty nicely."

Ichigo bets Byakuya regrets not having poisoned the tea now. Ichigo sure does. He drinks his cup anyway.

Rukia made it, after all. You never know.
