Pick one of my stories and I will tell you the first lines of its prequel OR sequel (choose one!). Even if I was never actually planning to write a prequel/sequel. Even if it already has a prequel/sequel -- I'll give you the first line of another version of its prequel/sequel!

And this time I'll really try to keep it short, not like the last time I tried those. >__> HAHAHA I jest.

For reference purposes, here's the list of my longfic masterlists and the ficlets who already do have sequels/prequels of their own. If there's a ficlet that's not on there you can request something for it anyway! You don't even have to link me first, I'll find it (if I truly was the one who wrote it, cause i've gotten confused about that stuff before. XD) Or there's my ffnet page. Any fandoms, go go go.

They'd moved Relena's bedroom a couple nights ago, as per the usual security protocol. There were a lot of empty suites in the Sank palace anyway, and Relena had found she enjoyed changing decors without having to put up with the actual redecorating.

A lot of them were likely occupied at the moment, though, because Sank was hosting a political convention.

Finding some strange old politician in Relena's previous bed might have explained the frown on Heero's face, but she had a feeling the issue was that he had found her at all; obviously that would be a security issue to fix up to his standards, and not yet another proof of that uncanny ability he had of finding her just about anywhere, when he put his mind to it. It was too late at night for her to allow him to berate her Head of Security, though. She sat up in bed and patted the mattress at her side, smiling around a yawn.

She didn't ask him where he'd been, this past month, or tell him what an unexpected pleasure his being there was. The only thing that mattered was whether he needed to go, not where or when or even why, and she wasn't about to try to guilt him about it.

She didn't mind, anyway. Heero was happiest when living like Heero should, and while that wasn't the way most everyone else lived, Relena didn't see why that ought to be relevant.

"Come to bed," she said. "We'll talk in the morning."

Over breakfast. Which she was going to take with a strange young man who had appeared in her bedchamber at night, and there was only the one bed there. Oh, the delightful little scandal that would cause.

Oh well, the old, crusty office-seekers needed something to keep themselves amused while Relena and her like-minded peers did the work. She scooted over to the side and closed her eyes, trying to listen to any sounds Heero might accidentally make as he undressed.

There weren't many. She knew he was there anyway, could feel him with something deeper, more instinctive than any of the five senses. Likely wishful thinking, but the kind of whimsy she liked to indulge, in the back of her mind where no one else had to know.

When the mattress dipped under his weight she was already half-asleep again. She smiled and took the hand that wasn't on his gun over the sheets.

Okay, that? That is awesome. I love how Heero seeks her out and Relena is totally unsurprised to wake up and see him hovering over her bed and totally doesn't need to demand answers from him. The the last line just killed me. They are so sweet!

♥ Relena I think has gotten used to Heero appearing in dark corners he was not in a second ago. She doesn't even startle anymore. XD And they are, aren't they? So n'awww. Now I feel a little bad for breaking them up. XDDDDD

Yes, I got that. *failed at communication yesterday* XD That was supposed to be a "I'm pleased to see 1xR surviving in general, even if it didn't survive in Newtypes" statement.

I love how Relena looks at having to switch rooms all the time as redecorating-without-redecorating instead of an inconvenience. And the way she and Heero are so comfortable with each other, the way they just click, is beautiful. (Are you hinting that there's something Newtype-ish about her, given that she and Heero can just feel each other, or just that they understand each other that well? Either way, I like the understated depth there.)

What's newtype-ish and what's not... XD She doesn't have the genes, no, but I think good old human instinct and being so attuned to Heero means she can feel it subconsciously when he pings her. She's more open than most normal people that way.

Heero by the way should not be able to locate her, because it's not either one of his abilities. Instead it's some weird mix of both, where he's taken one of the stickers that should indicate north-south and up-down (which is why he wakes up that one time in a hospital and is able to tell exactly where he is) and put it on a living being. Relena thataway! So he sort of always knows her general direction. It's even more subconscious than Relena's awareness of it, which cracks me up because I've got a weird sense of humor that way.

The idea that he has essentially made her one of his internal compass points is absolutely adorable.

And now I want to see Relena being all "yes, you always know exactly where I am, let me prove it to you." And then them running some sort of experiment. XD
