I'm blocked again (gnn) so, meme time!

Modified from the "imaginary sequel" meme;

Pick one of my stories and I will tell you the first lines of its PREquel. Even if I was never actually planning to write a prequel. Even if it already has a prequel -- I'll give you the first line of another version of its prequel!

Any fandom I ever wrote for, ofic also welcome. If the fic has a big cast, feel free to suggest a specific character for the prequel to center on. I might choose not to use the suggestion, but. Yeah.

Also, the sequel meme? Surprisingly fun to do and, considering my usual track record, unexpectedly successful, therefore if you want to go back there and ask for more, please feel free, I'm reopening it. (not that I ever officially closed it anyway... man i'm so messy.)

umm, I want to say Locker Room Therapy... but you already allude to everything that happened prior to the story. So! Locker Room Therapy if you can, and it doesn't have to be the kidnapping! It can be other stuff!

If you don't wanna do that... may I have a prequel to your lovely Sakura zombie AU? If that's off limits too, just lemme know and I'll pick something else.

If he HAS to get a stupid little gay crush on someone (stupid adolescence), Naruto Uzumaki is the safest person of the school to have a crush on. Not that Sasuke chose him, but it could have been much worse. First, he's a honorable (would never attempt to gay-bash) moron (would never assume-realize-NOTICE Sasuke is serious).

Second, he's so straight and gets on Sasuke's nerves so easily that Sasuke's traitorous hormones can't even manage to mess with his brain enough for him to start hoping there's even a glimmer of a chance. No heartbreak that way.

Enjoying their fights for both the violence and his body is fucked up, but it's all Sasuke can afford to want anyway. Anything more isn't safe. Caring about anyone isn't safe, and doing it openly so they can kick your heart right back at you is downright stupid. Sasuke isn't stupid.

Naruto is the safest person in the whole school to get a harmless little crush on, a safe little thrill from, until the day his father comes home with nails still crusted in blood from pressing down on gushing wounds and it's Naruto's blood, Naruto's.

because i love it so much and will, most likely, always ask for something from this au, and i have a prequel to the vampire au you wrote? and, if not that one, can i have the prequel to the fantasy au you wrote where sasuke is captured and put in naruo's harem? (basically, everything from that meme made me fall in love with the boys all over again) thank you!

Oh wow. I totally forgot that Sasuke's dad was Naruto's doctor! Damn, that must have sucked for him to find out that way. *bounces* I love this verse!

"There, there, I'm sure it will wash off."

Sakura glared death at Kakashi-sensei, and wiped some more mud from her bangs. Of course he was perfectly clean, the only one of them to be.

"I'm not going back to Konoha like that!" Naruto protested.

"Of course not," Kakashi said blandly. "It'll dry before long and then you won't be able to move at all. Anyway, this information is time-sensitive, so I'll head back first. You won't have to report until tomorrow noon. See it as a well-deserved vacation after a stressful mission."

"Does that mean you're payHEY!"

Sakura and Sasuke shared a long, meaningful look and an unsurprised sigh as Naruto shook his fist at the empty street.

"We should rent rooms first," Sasuke said, eyeing his dripping arms doubtfully.

"I don't think they'll let us in the lobby like that," she replied, holding her arms away from her body. It didn't keep any part of her any cleaner but the viscous feeling of mud rubbing on mud was just disgusting. "Anyway, if I don't wash off right now I'm going to kill someone. I want these clothes off me!"

Naruto and Sasuke were the ones who exchanged the next meaningful look. She would have been more curious about it if a glob of green mud hadn't started gliding down her neck down the front of her shirt.

naw, not doctor, but he's the cop who found naruto stumbling through the street after his escape so he had to do first aid stuff. (it looked a lot worse than it was, too, so I bet he was really kind of tense and twitchy about it and that must have traumatized sasuke even more. XDD)

Naruto has a type. He knows that.

What they have in common?

They're fucked up.

Life fucked them over and they're hurting and angry and lashing out, barricading themselves to keep people at bay, to keep themselves at bay. He always wants to help them. He always wants to save them.

He finds Gaara in a village much like Naruto's own, back when he was human, and a peasant, and the fatherless son of a whore. He changes Gaara, so he can escape, the way Naruto did.

Gaara goes back, and kills them all. Naruto puts him down -- his responsibility.

Three centuries alone and he can't stand it anymore. He finds Neji in an inner garden, beautiful like a painting save from the disgusting scar tissue where his eyes used to be. He thought he'd make a better clan heir than the leader's choice would. They took him down a peg. Hell, the whole way down the ladder.

He doesn't let Neji out of his sight until all the people he used to know are dead of old age. By then he's used to his vampire senses enough that it's almost like he as never blinded. Neji lives. Neji stays. Saved? Naruto isn't sure. He'll always have that mask of scars.

Naruto finds Sai when Sai attacks him -- vampire hunter. Brainwashed into it. He gives him a choice. Sai says "change me", and then goes and throws himself on his ex-leader's silver cross so Naruto will live. He didn't want to live anyway. He just wanted to feel. Some might say he was saved but to Naruto it's still a failure.

Now there's Sasuke, who is terrified of vampires and who keeps bleeding himself in front of Naruto, tempting him, challenging him, asking and asking, and he doesn't want to live; he just wants to kill, and after that he doesn't care.

He's just Naruto's type. Naruto knows better.

They just seem to shine on Naruto's demon side, which is the one thing that makes him stand out among shonen heroes, at least in my opinion.

He "put Gaara down"? DX no saving him? No bringing him to the light?! How very much more realistic and dramatic and character-building. And sad. I love you!

I kept building vampire!Naruto's background in my head, and so i'm really glad for this little insight. His hero complex is very believable, applies to original Naruto as well, and it's just awesome that, here, he's mature enough to realize it and accepts it all. The love just keeps flowing.

(you made me curious about Sasuke's motivation. I'm assuming that Itachi turned into a vampire and killed his family, since that's the easiest way to explain it)

Thank you~ and alas, no gaara savin'. Well, he managed to bring him back to himself but that was only when it was too late to save him. sadness! angst! trauma!

(yeah, it's kinda what I assumed as well. Sasuke can't fight Itachi on equal grounds as a human, so he wants to be turned, despite how traumatized he is. Also, the arm-warmers? There to cover up horrible scar tissue. Mmm.

I kind of wonder if Naruto knew what they were going to say to Sasuke during the hearing in the clan register AU, and what his thoughts were on it. Of course, depending on whether or not the answer to that first part is 'yes,' that may not be a prequel. Granted, I'd be interested in seeing what came before that scene anyway...

If you don't want to, though, I'd like a prequel to Comrades, Coming Out, and Cows.

You and Sarolynne do the best RPs. Just saying...

Well, there's this. But, just in case...

It's his own little personality test for the rookie 'bots. Sitting at his desk, stretching nonchalantly...

Flop, goes the magazine, a couple steps away from the newest babybot. And then Kakashi sits back and watches what happens. By now he knows all the different acceptable reactions, but it helps put them into broad categories. People are always surprised at his insight into emerging personalities, but it's simple observation.

No reaction : this one shouldn't even be out in the real world yet. Perhaps it'll never be.

Picking it up, handing it back -- lots of nuances on that one. Perfect friendly smile, "you dropped this" -- studious bot. Faint expression of disapproval -- a more practiced studious bot, who might perhaps do good things in Internal Affairs (little bastard).

"What is this?" -- this one's gonna be curious. Good for detective job.

"Is that pornography?" -- this one's already got the "check on the internet" reflex! Not only curious, but it's going to be smart, too. (That, or it met Asuma first.)

SA looks down at the magazine.

Pauses. (Huh. Bit slow. Maybe it's still too young.)

SA bends over to pick it up.

Good boy. Kakashi gives it a genial, practised smile.

SA drops his magazine into the wastebasket, and scowls.

Kakashi can only stare back, nonplussed. It's the first time this ever happened. "I was reading that," he drawls, just to see what happens.

"If you aren't mature enough to know when this is appropriate reading, sir, you aren't mature enough to own it," SA replies sternly.

Kakashi starts laughing. What a brat. He can already tell he's going to like him.

Sasuke had given himself five dates to get over his irrational distaste. Sure, he hated women who clung to his arm and shrieked, but who didn't? Sakura had outgrown it. Other would have, as well. He was a ninja; he was mentally flexible, and that prejudice wasn't helpful anymore. Mission: find a woman he could date, rebuild the clan with.

Five would be enough; he worked better under pressure.

The first was, as expected, a wash. He hadn't expected to find his match on the first try. He didn't even bother remembering her name. She was bland in just about every way possible.

The second reminded him of Naruto, complete with sleek, thigh-length ponytails. Which would have been fine except that no one was allowed to be Naruto but Naruto. Also she couldn't take a punch, so nevermind.

The third -- Makaru Umiko, that one he remembered -- asked him out first, but in a bold, confident, non-giggly way that he could respect. She was twenty, a jounin, and too ambitious to settle down to raise children anytime soon. The date ended by mutual agreement after thirty minutes.

The fourth was a soft-spoken civilian with a slightly sarcastic sense of humor, which he could appreciate, and actually wanted to be a housewife, which would work fine. She also expected him to save her from spiders, and the way she twirled her hair left him utterly cold.

By the time he escorted Hyuuga Sachiko home, he already knew his fifth and last attempt was another total failure. Sachiko was quiet, a competent ninja, well-mannered, her hair was glossy and long, and he had about as much of an interest in touching her breasts as taking up macrame.

He could have given himself a delay, though making allowances for his own failures irritated him. He could have... but it wouldn't have changed a thing.

When he held open the garden door for her he was already thinking of test tube babies, and the relief he felt ... he resented it, resented failing, but it wasn't to be denied.

Damn it.

"It was nice," he lied, knowing she could tell.

On the way back he almost knocked Hyuuga Neji down. The sparring match they got into was utterly unplanned, utterly vicious, and left him utterly aroused.

Panting, bruised, disheveled, Neji arched an eyebrow at him, his challenging scowl, and his tented pants, and then shrugged.

"I propose a mutually beneficial arrangement," he said, cultured sarcasm in every word.

Sasuke didn't purr, but it was a near thing.

I liked a lot of stories I read in here.
It just makes me so sad that I am unable to find where the 10 AU's meme is on my own,
particularly the vampfic.
