Teamwork perked up today -- I woke up already coming up with actual SENTENCES while i was still half-awake and shit, I love that -- only to die again by the time I was done hammering out some wrinkles. I am Frustrated.

I have decided that the chapter itself is done, BUT I can't post it yet because it's pretty much just the scene with Team KyuubiFodder and that means a really short chapter, which is why it's got to wait for the sidefics to be written. They should have been actual scenes in the chapter, but they're really random and fractured and I couldn't make them gel together -- it's more of a "random shit that happened during the one month gap but doesn't impact much on what happens afterwards" and that's just awkward.

... one of the scenes is Sakura and her baby bulge. XD ... another scene is gaara and naruto discussing akatsuki and the other demon bearers, which will have NO relevance to the plot until TEAMWORK 4.

But anyway. I want to do a meme. Several memes! (not a writing, ficlet-making meme. a fandom meme or an idea meme or whatever.) I just can't figure out which. Welcoming suggestions. plz loev me. T^T

... hell, I think I want to try these, but am still welcoming other memes on top of it since I don't know how well they'll work out.

¤ Inspired by Doctor Who's "Turn Left:" Pick one of my stories and tell me a point in the tale that you'd change. Something tiny (e.g. "and then Fay chose silver glitter instead of gold") or big (e.g. "and then Rose was arrested instead of Jack") and I'll tell you how that one difference would have altered the course of the entire story.

Or, if you think you can make it work (despite the fact that it actually includes two fandoms you didn't list, though I think one of them maybe should have been on there anyway), Aeris/Goku/Link. Failing that, sub in almost anyone else for Link and it could still be interesting; I originally was going to pick Tsunade or possibly Karin, until it occurred to me that between the two of them Aeris and Goku have Wisdom and Power pretty much nailed down, so obviously the third one needs to be Courage.

...or, for maximum crack factor among the fandoms you did list, Mouri Kogoro/Peter Pettigrew/Willy the Snitch.

(Yes, at this point I'm just trying to see how ridiculously cracky a crack pairing I can come up with. I think I might have a hard time topping that one.)

Itachi has been with Akatsuki for two years when Sir Leader, disgruntled, cancels some of their missions to send Itachi and Kisame up North to follow up on a lead.

The lead turns out to be a man encased in ice. Apparently he fell from the sky. Itachi cares about that in an academic way, but less than he cares about how Pain seemed annoyed to have to divert his attention to this, and yet did it anyway, and that it means Akatsuki's secret leader Madara is curious about this guy. Hmm, how to sabotage that...

Well, neither of them has ice jutsu, not their fault if the guy thaws out en route.

Thing is, this is post-won-the-game sephiroth. who is kind of cracked. So the first thing he does upon waking is attempting to kill them. It's a good thing he doesn't have access to the Lifestream of this world, and has to rely on his own juice, a lot of which was spent to get him there. the following fight remodels the countryside but eventually Seph gets calm enough that he decides he ought to take the slightly longer way for conquest. Might as well accompany them and get explanations from their leader.

Itachi: well fuck. Oh well, they're welcome to each other. >/__\>

Thing is, sephiroth harnessed the power of the lifestream to go to space. and the lifestream is made of souls. the strongest are still there, working in his subconscious, pushing and tugging things when he's not paying attention. So eventually Itachi realizes Sephiroth is, mainly, two people (but sometimes when you catch him half-asleep he's more. others.) The main ones are genocidal megalomaniac sephiroth and arrogant but not pathologically so general sephiroth, and then there's brief flashes of not-sephiroth-at-all.

... this is very interesting, and it's in his best interest to make sure there isn't a second crazy psycho running around the ninja countries, so ... long philosophical discussions ensue. (good thing Itachi is used to undercover tightrope-walking acts, but even then it's the most delicate high-stakes thing he's ever done and he can feel it, and if he drops the ball he can feel how bad it's going to be.)

Good thing about the discussions and interaction is that it's pretty much attacking sephiroth's insanity from two sides. So progressively...

Anyway this would be a psychological epic, full of razor-sharp minds and delicate balancing acts, but eventually Sephiroth might come to terms with eating his own world and decide to side against Madara. ... it'd be hella difficult though, and even at the end it's more likely the best itachi can do is convince him to keep this world intact to use, since he can't drain it anyway and destroying it just because is pointless. Make him into someone who wants to protect the things he owns more than destroy them.)

I'm not sure which Goku you mean, there's DBZ!goku and Saiyuki!goku and... others, i think. XD; Also I vaguely know who Link is (green-wearing guy with a sword! ... i think he has a speshul horse, too) but that's not enough to plot for. I know nothing else about his 'verse save that Sheik Is Zelda, but that's like knowing that Soylent Green Is People.

... I don't know Willy the Snitch either. XD;; But hey, gave you seph/ita, please no more T^T

You are a terrible tease. I love this idea sooo much ... and yet it scares the crap outta me. I'm not good with writing philosophical stuff, although I understand it perfectly well. It's one reason I love Vathara's stuff so much. She has a lot of that psychological/philosophical stuff crammed into her stories. but this ... would kinda be overload. I mean, they've both got major mental ... issues. And when you throw in whoever's screwing with Sephiroth from the inside it gets that much more complicated. On the other hand, that might depend on who's doing the tweaking. Zack knew General Sephiroth best and Cloud was more familiar with crazy-Seph's gaping logic holes. Then Angeal or Genesis could be in there somewhere and they were Seph's best friends when he was young. And Aeris too, since she seems to be where ever she NEEDS to be.

*Sighs* If only this were more than just a fic prompt...

Heh. With as long as it had been, I'd more or less assumed you weren't going to end up getting to this one, so no worries; you never promised to do multiple per person anyway.

Interesting scenario, as far as it goes (and no, that's not a prompt for more); it doesn't delve very deeply into the characterization, motivations and personalities of the two, but that would be kind of difficult without actually writing a fair bit more of the details of the story. I do wonder how Sephiroth's presence would be noticed by, reacted to by, and end up affecting the other side, i.e. our canonical protagonists...

(...and now my mind is trying to combine that with the motivations you did give for Itachi, and extrapolate further... unfortunately, although I can copy-edit with some of the best short of the professionals, I can't really write from scratch very well.)

I was thinking of DBZ!Goku, since I think I remember you writing in that fandom once upon a time, and I don't remember you writing any of the other possible sources. If you don't know Link well enough to write, that one's a moot point anyway, unless you do want to pick someone else to sub in - but please don't consider yourself obligated just by the request.

Willy the Snitch is the guy who ran Willy's Alibi Room, the demon bar in Sunnydale. No, I don't expect you to actually give me/us this one; if you did, I'd probably have to try to come up with an even more "WTF?" pairing/moresome from the available fandoms, and I'm not sure I'd be able to manage it.
