recycled Naruto rant that makes me come off like an elitist, controlling bitch.

I don't begrudge people the right to enjoy fics using a looser sense of canon, they can be very fun as well; I just get a bit twitchy when that fanon is so accepted that it becomes strange to actually use stuff that's not totally raping canon. Also, I desperately needed something to rant about, so here. Whatever.

oh god i can't read NaruSasu fics anymore, I just can't find any new fics that don't make me barf. noooo. I don't want to lose all enjoyment of that pairing, damn it, they're the closest thing I've ever had to an OTP. T_T /whine

I have to admit, I have an odd tendency to be drawn to 'reversed' pairings - NaruSasu rather than SasuNaru, SoraRiku rather than RikuSora (and DAMN is it hard to find that one ;_;) - just because there are slightly better odds of the characters being IC. And threesomes are a growing attraction with me. "NO! You CAN'T just drop Sakura/Kairi (or other character of your choice)! If you try, the other two will SMITE you! And she'd help!"

And... I confess, I haven't even TRIED looking at the Naruto FF.Net section. I just follow the favorites trail. :-P But I don't think FF.Net is all bad - you just need to develop a certain mental filtering system. "'True lo'... next. 'A mysterious girl'... next. 'OMG'... psh, NEXT. 'Years have passed since Sasuke vanished from Orochimaru's stronghold, but Naruto and Sakura aren't giving up yet!' Hmmm. Okay, I'm game... *click*"

As for Sasuke... I've come to the conclusion that I have a very odd interpretation of what's probably going to happen with him, so I'll just bow out of that side of the argument. And wait to see what Kishimoto has to say. :-P Or, maybe, one of these days I'll post that rant I was talking about... Heh. Not until I finish my graduation paper and presentations. *will be SPAZZING for the next two weeks*

I will say this, though. I know you mean it as a joke, so I usually don't mind... but dammit, Sasuke is NOT emo. 'Emo,' to me, is a poseur - someone with massive entitlement issues who thinks that being dark and depressed is cool. Sasuke is introverted, driven, and psychologically MESSED UP. NOT emo. Naruto. Cute. Yeah, right. He's bratty and brash and loud and... ARGH. Kishimoto usually deliberately draws his characters as NOT being cute - that was actually one of the major character points about Sakura!
