recycled Naruto rant that makes me come off like an elitist, controlling bitch.

I don't begrudge people the right to enjoy fics using a looser sense of canon, they can be very fun as well; I just get a bit twitchy when that fanon is so accepted that it becomes strange to actually use stuff that's not totally raping canon. Also, I desperately needed something to rant about, so here. Whatever.

oh god i can't read NaruSasu fics anymore, I just can't find any new fics that don't make me barf. noooo. I don't want to lose all enjoyment of that pairing, damn it, they're the closest thing I've ever had to an OTP. T_T /whine

God, yes. YES YES YES. afjdslk just looking into the Naruto yaoi fandom makes me hurt even more than the Naruto het fandom (which is pretty damn bad). All the cutesy uke Naruto afjdlskfjdskl.

I'm sorry, that wasn't very coherent. D: But there need to be more smackdowns like this. If it gives people joy to write sweet little uke Naruto, then whatever, but it's still bad fanfic and we have every right to mock it. Especially when they start whining over how horrible NaruSasu is because omg, seme!Naruto is the most horrible thing ever, worse than war or death or drugs or disease! (I have literally seen someone say that.)

Makes me want to write something like this for Sasuke.

Sasuke IS:
1) Broken
2) A child
3) Important to Naruto and Sakura

Sasuke IS NOT:
1) Evil
2) A rapist
3) Secretly in love with [Naruto/Itachi/Neji/Sakura/Hinata/Ino/Your Mary Sue]

And so on. :X

Oh yeah, write it for Sasuke plz. I tend not to notice as much bad stuff with Sasuke because OOC Sasuke makes me hit the back button a lot faster, whereas I'll sacrifice my mental health with bleh-Naruto if Sasuke is relatively IC. XD

I suspect I'll get a lot more argument on the Sasuke one, though, because there are so many people in the fandom utterly convinced that he is evil and anyone who says otherwise is a stupid Sasuke apologist (meanwhile, they go about claiming that Itachi is secretly good or some such--he must be a good guy if he hurt Sasuke! Anyone who hurts Sasuke is cool!).

Oh, well, I'll probably do it anyway. XD

Sasuke has issues but I'm hard-pressed to believe he's evil. He's got too many internal conflicts to ever be as good a bad guy as Orochimaru. And thank god for that! Itachi is a cold bastard, but I like to think that there is some tiny spot of something in him (yeah, I know, that made little sense XD) that isn't totally evil...after all, I'm pretty sure there's a spot of Itachi-history that we don't know about yet--that turning point in his life that we didn't get to see during Sasuke's flashbacks since it was told from Sasuke's point of view.

Oops, rambling again, lol.
