Askerian: it always baffle me in GW fic when duo or some other narrating character describes heero's eyes to himself as prussian blue.
Askerian: not dark blue, not navy blue, not anything -- they fall on Prussian straight away

Askerian: yeah but it's a more well known shade of dark blue, and heero's eyes aren't very light, even though they're blue. >_>
Saro Lynne: Yeah... I think people think of Navy blue as being more drab--it's not VIVID enough for flowery fanfic!

XD XD XD I'm gonna keep reading it anyway, because I really, really love vampires and shameless sexiness, but seriously... this is so wrooooooooooooong. XD SO WRONG.

In unrelated news, I've written the first chapter of the teamwork wedding fic. (it's named Teamwork: Wedding. I am Original.) It doesn't spoil much for the ending of the tournament arc, but still. Should I post them on LJ as I write them, or wait until I'm done with TW3? (Either way ffnet will wait. HAH.)

I loved the initial Anita Blake books (before they turned into endless recitals of hair- and eyecolours, alternating with bits of badly written pr0n)and also happen to be quite fond of GW, so the story sounds like it might turn out to be a really good read ^_^

Come now! Surely you enjoyed how the pious little catholic girl becomes and incubus! I mean... who can count the number of partners on just their fingers and toes these days?

I wouldn't even mind it if she wasn't STILL somehow being holier than thou and a controlling bitch about it -- she can have a hundred partners but none of her partners can, and no one treats it like a real issue she has, that they might tolerate because they know she's having a hard time with it but they hope it'll get fixed in time, but an "of course my queen, your orders are absolute and any sacrifice is worth it to be with you." The onlyt times one of her men protests the status quo it's only to add to the drama and the woe is me. And then she still prances around like she's better than everyone else!

Anita amused me and impressed me in the first books, but in the last she has become simply unlikeable, and it's really hard to read first-person protagonists when you can't stand them and they're always me-me-me about the world around them.

Also if there was still PLOT and CHARACTERIZATION to be found. I can skip the porn, but the men are all interchangeable by now. Guhhh.

For me, half the problem is that Hamilton now wants us to simultaneously drool over all the hot men Anita gets and feel bad for her "haaaaving" to sleep with them. *eyeroll*

I tend to think that Acherontia Atropos is probably still the best Anita Blake inspired GW fic, but I could be wrong since I haven't gone looking much the last few years.

Also, I think the whole Prussian blue deal is the writers going, "Hey, look! I read the official profiles!" while ignoring that those also describe Heero's hair as "Moss Green".

Yeah, it's the issue -- either accept it and be happy, or try to find a way to put a stop to it, instead of whining that your life is so hard as you get more and more speshul animals and speshul matching studs, while letting the first ones fall into the background. But it's definitely the author bias/intention that grates the most there, it could have worked as a character flaw but obviously the author doesn't see it like that and it's really dissonnant. Gnaaaah.

I remember loving Acherontia Atropos, but I also remember thinking later on that while it was nominally a 1x2 Heero was a total cipher and showed no real reciprocation, and most of the mutual bond onscreen was the Duo and Wufei one... possibly platonic, but it made me woe. I should probably read over again to make sure, it was a long time ago.

Pff, Moss Green. I love it when fics wink at that green thing, by having Heero dye his hair green or does highlights or stuff. I've found a few that did it and I always get a kick out of it for some strange reason. Mostly because it's SUBTLE. aaaa.

Hmmm, you have a point on Heero in AA, and especially about there being more of a bond with Wufei. But then, I suspect that may be one of the reasons the series was never finished.

I love those subtle Moss Green jokes, too.

You probably already know this, but those specific colors are from the first translations and such, when they listed the paint colors used in the cels, lol. That's why Duo is also described as having cobalt blue eyes, Quatre platinum blond hair, and that's not to even mention Heero's hair being listed as moss green XD

In regards to your question about Teamwork Wedding, oh yes, please :D I will happily read, spoilers or not.

Yeah, I know. Though half the time Duo gets cobalt, and half the time they get it wrong and HEERO gets cobalt, and then likely Duo gets amethyst or heliotrope or some other shade of clearly-purple. Then again some of the official art tends to be really approximative with colors.

I know, but that's the GW fandom, lol. It doesn't really bother me too much though, as long as the characterizations and plot are well-written.

(Understands your dilemma, but really wants to read more Teamwork XD) Well, more of anything, I'm not picky, but since you specifically asked about Teamwork...

Yeah, the prussian blue thing is because that's the official color of Heero's eyes (no really. that's what Gundamofficial.com says!)

And cobalt blue for Duo's eyes is lies and propoganda! I will forever maintain that any shade of purple is more accurate than blue, even if official character spec sheets say otherwise. :P

Hehehe...I can think of a lot of fun that has been had with the gundam boys and viampirism...and warewolves, shifters, magic...Man, those boys just work to well in supernatural settings.
