Meme tiems!

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] oceanica: Name any story I've written, and any character in it, canon or OC. I'll tell you three things about that character which I didn't put in the story.

NO CRACK DRABBLES ALLOWED. >:/

Also today I'm writing GW things. I decided to scrape one Wufei POV scene I wrote and rewrite it as a Heero POV thing, but my lazy heart aches at the sight of so many words being deleted and that makes my progress rather slow. XD;

I'm sure it's been done at least in part, Piers Anthony skirted the edges in some parts of his Blue Adept series come to think of it. There's very little in science fiction that is really new anymore, we need a new breakthrough technology to spring off of these days.

It's more the sucktastic timing and that it's Joss Whedon. Whedon's like a golden geek god right now so anything he does gets plastered all over and very visible. If it were a midlist SF novel the odds of someone reading both and connecting them would be much lower.

It doesn't help that we're both calling our bodies with implanted personalities "dolls" either.

I'm really, really hoping he goes in a different direction. The dolls themselves aren't the focus of my novel but as I mentioned, the technology, and the culture around it, are fundamental components.

I guess I should put the last bits in my wiki for it and then dig up the wiki for my 2006 NaNo and see if I can get that one moving again. That one needs so much work it's practically like starting over so I've been ignoring it. :P

Or, you know, I could try this fanfic thing. :) I'm not all that comfortable trying to get in the heads of someone else's characters but I could try it might be the only way to get some TemAnko that I can stand.

I think there's a moratorium on wizards named Harry now too, between Potter and Dresden.

TemAnko. :) I wrote a drabble for them ages ago, but in cutting down the 400 words (and counting) to just 100 it ended up being more generic "any two female ninja" so I really should just go and write the original idea. I haven't really thought of their interaction outside the scenario I set up for that. It was a PWP, as much as I can do WP, involving stress relief in the form of semi-anonymous sex in a club for elite ninja. The sort of place that doesn't exist, but seems to do well enough with its non-existent clientele.

For me the two of them have tension. They both have that bit of ball-busting attitude that women in male dominated professions tend to develop, so when you put them together there's a subtle power play feel. Add some outside stress and something goes flying, be it sparks or kunai.

So it's the fight for dominance done more subtle (for some value of subtle) with attractively squishy women. :D
