AUUUUURGH APPRENDS A TAPER.

C'est marrant comme elle avait tellement honte de ce qu'elle avait fait qu'elle s'est empressée d'effacer son blog! ... genre après qu'elle se soit fait choper.

Enfin bon comme ça j'ai pas besoin de me fouler à la descendre. (quoique ... "au pire t'as même le droit de me casser la gueule" -- merci bien, si j'avais envie j'aurais pas besoin de ta permission.)

same in english! AUUUGH LEARN TO TYPE.

It's funny how she was so ashamed of what she did that she hurried to erase everything on her blog! ... after she got caught. (Though ... "u even have teh right 2 beat me up if u want 2!" -- thanks so much, if I felt like it I wouldn't need your permission.)

Oh well, like that I don't have to bother going after her.

In other, real life news, [livejournal.com profile] sailor_comet killed my feet. We also saw like four churches (more like a cathedral or two and a basilica and stuff), the zoo, and a bazilion miles of buses and subways. Nurgh. *flops and dies* But it was fun. ^__^

In other, other, mermaids... IN SPACE news, thanks to someone on deviantart *_* I had a total geek moment where I realized that OH MY GOD my mermaids don't have VESTIGIAL leg bones, they have CARTILAGE. Because there's a kind of cartilage that becomes bone after you finish growing up so how hard would it be to reverse engineer instead of trying to make them have no leg bones at all, AND it would give the back/tailbone and all the attached muscles some support! *___*)

... Yes, that was your "...yeah, and?" moment of the day. #u_u#;;;

Yay, Asuka wins! Idiot bitch repents with tail between her legs! No Asuka fan involvement of letting us all go batshit on her necessary! (not like I would, not knowing French... and by the way freetranslation FAILS at translating even when the words are typed properly)

Anyway, yay for you.

I'm glad you're being able to hang out with friends you haven't met before this spring, it's so very awesome.

Mmm cartilage tails.

Um. *coff* For the record, I believe that was actually my "OMG SO SHINY IT'S COOL" moment of the day. 9.9 You make me feel like less of a dork for obsessing over the scientific!why and how of things.

Besides, I think understanding the worlds they write about makes for better authors. ^^;;;

I have no idea what you said....

But the english bits suggest that said crazy person who stole your things took her blog down? 'Cause yay for that!

[identity profile] uminohikari.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
...I don't understand her email.
Like, at all. But I can understand your part? *so confused*

[identity profile] sara-the-lazy.livejournal.com 2008-04-30 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I think hers is written in really awful french... because the automated translation made NO SENSE yet the stuff Asuka writes makes sense.

... random lurker here that wants to thank your profusely for using proper French in your French entries. My many years of high school French taught me France-French and québécois, but French-netspeak is confusing... I spent way too long trying to figure out what "ki", "ke", "ske", and "g" were or if they were nonsense typos.

So once again, much love for the proper French entries!

Poor feet! Will they ever recover? XD

[identity profile] harry-poppins.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)

You attract the weirdest people, truly. But at least she was so scared by you showing up that she took everything down, no?

Also, cartilage tails sounds like a really believable solution. There's that, and there's the tails of animals like manatees and seals, which followed the same evolutionary process as you are proposing your mermaids were engineered into. ;) I think your solution sounds more 'scientificky', though, so kudos for it!

[identity profile] valles-uf.livejournal.com 2008-04-29 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. I'm not sure about the cartilage thing, because 'creating' the genes for a proper extended tail probably wouldn't be necessary? Since both seals/sea lions and whales already have pretty much the structure the 'mermaid' specification calls for (and since you're already using a lot of that coding already for breath holding and heat retention and such), I think that dropping in and adapting those transgenes would be simpler than tangling with growth patterns and all they entail w/regard to birth defects, cancers, and the like.

But. I could be wrong. Barring input from somebody who actually has qualifications in the whole 'genetic engineering' thing, I think that you could easily make a case for either way. Whichever you prefer.

Space mermaids~♥ Wait, so does this means two legs have cartilage as well? Cause for no apparent reason I keep thinking the two legs have difficulties walking.
