Okay, trusty F-list. I need your help to puzzle out something. (caveat: People have a right to ship what they want, or hate or like any character they want even for DID YOU READ THE MANGA PROPERLY reasons) But.

Riddle me this:


1) Sasuke is an asshole, a dirty traitor, and an utter prick, who deserves to die alone, preferably in a fire,
2) Naruto deserves SOOOO much better and SasuNaru is an utterly horrible pairing because Sasuke hurts Naruto all the time, tried to KILL HIM, and doesn't give a shit at the best of times,
3) Itachi/Naruto OTP!!! nnnghsocute. X333333333

Someone missed a big step in the leap of logic there. Unless this person also believes Itachi is OMGINNOCENT and a FLUFFYBUNNYRLY because he didn't actually kill the clan and it was a trick, and he saved Naruto's life a bunch of times when Naruto was very tiny and small TRUFAX.

It kinda weirds me out how her opinion on Sasuke seems to be based on canon -- albeit she concentrates on the bad side and ignores the redeeming bits. Fair enough, it's not sufficiently redeeming for a lot of people and Sasuke's still not really asking to be forgiven anyway.

But then in the same post, same topic, she goes on with bwee itanaru otp.

I see nothing wrong with liking fanonized, SEMEuke formatted pairings. Well, it's wrong for ME but not for everyone. Or being a secret fan of the "Itachi is a nice guy deep down" theory -- much like Sasuke using Sexy no Jutsu, it's got no chance to ever be canon, but boy can it be hawt to imagine anyway. But ummmmmmm. HOW COME ITACHI GETS REFORMATTED INTO DARKLY HANDSOME NICE GUY AND SASUKE INTO ANTICHRIST IN THE SAME BREATH IN A THREAD DISCUSSING THE MANGA. I mean I understand how one might want an antagonist for their fanonized version of a pairing, but DO YOU REMEMBER THAT FANON VERSION DOESN'T EXIST ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF YOUR HEAD DDD;

I figured that the only way to make her argument work would be to bastardize-canonize Sasuke, while fanonizing the HELL out of Itachi. But lots of people do that though, just to "justify" their own pet pairings or OTPs.

Ngh yes, why can't people just enjoy their pet pairings for what they are, instead of immediately HATING everything that might get in the way? It's already stupid even for sasusaku and narusaku shippers, but the more cracktastic the pairing is and the more ridiculous the attitude gets. ~____~

It's just an expansion of the "they're in the same panel together! They must be fucking!" justification of pairings. I think people who like crackpairings just think they have to BE LOUD ABOUT WHAT THEY LIKE because they're OMGTHEMINORITY.
