Well, there's the popular theory that Sai is actually Shisui's younger brother.

Itachi said three people. Two already have it, Itachi and Kakashi. Itachi said Sasuke had the potential to have and that's why he's a alive. Sasuke would/should/could be the last Mangekyou Sharingan user; therefore, Sai could not have Sharingan then Itachi would be wrong and that'll never happen. Unless it does and then well, no. Did I prove you wrong enough?

^^;; I still don't think Itachi meant that KAKASHI was the one with the ability to have the Mangekyou. Afterall, Kakashi doesn't have the full Sharingan in both eyes and he's not of Uchiha blood. And Kakashi's Mangekyou is very different from Itachi's.

Also, I'm a little fuzzy, but I think Itachi was actually surprised to see Kakashi with a more developed Sharingan when they fought in the Gaara Arc.

I don't care for the idea that Sai's an Uchiha, and I think Itachi was referring to Kakashi in that statement anyway. Itachi said that three people would be capable of handling mangekyou, including Sasuke -- "would be," "capable," those are the keywords I pull, since it means that the third person didn't necessarily have the mangekyou at the time it was spoken and wouldn't necessarily ever have it.

Well, with Kakashi's MS, we don't know how true it is to the blood line. He's not a true Uchiha by blood, so there's a possibility that it's just a unique version.

We know Itachi has MS. Sasuke should be able to develop MS, the third, I think Shisui is still alive.

Does the manga say that a body was found? All I remember is a note, but I don't remember the finding of the body.

If it's not Shisui, it's another Uchiha. I mean, does anyone think it's truely possible to kill a whole clan in a 24 hr. time period. (I say 24, b/c Wehn Sasuke returned from school, Itachi was finishing up the parentals. We don't know whne Itachi started... so, time is iffy...)


But that was just a ramble, and probably made no sense, and I apologize... :(

Also, (i'm so sorry for the double post) I don't think Shisui is Sai's brother. If the pic of the little boy on the cover of the book is any indication of the look of the brother, then there's no possibly way that he's an Uchiha.

Is black hair/eyes a pre-dominate characteristic of the Uchiha? All the Uchica seen have the two defining characteristics, where as the little boy on the cover looks about, if not maybe a few yeras older than Sai. Plus, the little boy clearly has a lighter shade of hair.

I have a strong feeling that it's either a character that shall be introduced soon, or considering his past (or lack there of...) Kabuto.

Hmm... actually, if Sai IS an Uchiha... I'll feel vindicated. ^^U I had this long argument with my bf on the matter of the 'third magenkyou user'. My bf insisted it was Kakashi, but I really don't think Itachi referred to him. I'm not even sure Kakashi HAD the magenkyou at the time Itachi mentioned there was someone else who had that power (aside from Sasuke, in potential)

Sai can't be an Uchiha, because I can't see the Uchiha going all "Here, have one of our own" to ROOTS, who was basically against the leader of Konoha at the time and against the ANBU? No? Ha. But it looks nothing like Itachi's Mangekyou, which I assume is the "Uchiha Mangekyou." To be able to use all the abilities of the Sharingan effectively (which would include the Mangekyou abilities), you have to be an Uchiha. That's why it's a bloodline limit. While Kakashi can use his Sharingan and his version of the Mangekyou, it very obviously takes a lot out of him, to a far higher degree that what happens to Itachi and Sasuke, who can use Sharingan naturally.

So, while Kakashi has a Mangekyou, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the Mangekyou that Itachi was referencing.

I think, really, that has more to do with the whole part where he draws himself without a face. Like trying to take different identities, because he doesn't have one himself.

I don't know. It could be, but I didn't see any reason to jump to that conclusion, especially since his whole fighting style such as we've seen it doesn't seem particularly Uchiha-ish.

One of the forums that I hang around have this theory going around that Sai's book shows that he can copy jutsu and even bloodline limits. If so then he might be more tasty looking to Orochimaru and he would not need Sasuke's body again.

However, I believe that it is something that he learned in roots and that his goal is to take Sasuke's place covertly.
