He's there, under that tree. I've watched him do this for a while now, just sort of leaning and staring at the husk of a house he used to call home. The only thing moving on him is his raven dark hair when the wind shifts it, and maybe his shirt, if the breeze dares to move even that much of him. He seems to be made of stone, but inside, I can almost see his heart shattering all over again.
I can taste his loneliness, watching him brings me back to...most of my own childhood, actually. The way you feel when you're alone, where nobody really understands you, because of what's in me, or because he's brilliant, or even Sakura because she's not either of us, and that's why we're together, partially. Because it's better to be alone together than to be...well, you get it.
My feet seem to move of their own accord, my black sandals stopping behind his. He's always smelled good, but I can even smell how sad he is right now. And that's not just because Kyuubi can smell the salt on his face, either. There's no words for this. I don't even try this once. His hair's scratchy as I lean my scarred cheek on his neck, my arms going around his waist. I can hear his heartbeat, the breaths he takes as he tries to pretend he hasn't been crying. When he thinks nobody's looking, and then later he blames it on...you know who, and takes it out on me in a sparring match.
I want to protect him, more than anything. I want to take that hurt away, but it's part of him these days, and all I can do is be here for him. Even when he acts like the stoic man, the grownup one, the silent Uchiha. I'm here. Sakura's here, too, watching from the other side of the tree. Someday, maybe, he can get past the hurt. But for now, I'll be here. I'll always be here.

Lucid Dreams

In death, in dreams, he's always there. But that's not surprising, my dreams are of death and he /is/ death, and so am I, since he made me all but walking dead. When ever I close my eyes he is there, when ever I truely open /my/ eyes I have a shared mark.

But inbetween, a place I had learned of, and lived in before I learned to truely open my eyes, I'm not death. I see things like a sun dream, there is life. The bright sun yellow and clear blue. The new leaf green and flower pink. Willow silver and chirping birds.

I ache to touch the sun and flowers, the snow and stone. Life, Love, and unbreakable. Their scent... my nose is not an Inuzuka's, my mark is my eyes, so I only remember their shapes and colors. I wish I could memorize their touch.

Soft over steel. Soft over soft but still unbreaking. Soft scared over stone.

But they live and I am dead, and they only exist in a nonreality between. When I open my eyes I see them for what they truely are, brightly painted walls of welcoming sceens. Walls in my way.

But between the nightmares and nightmarish reality I will cherish these dreams.

I have to admit that the word 'gardening' was the first one that came to my mind back then. And since I was in hurry to be in the winning five (to make you write something from the GW fandom, cause I love your GW fics and I really want to read more of those stories - and see the endings too, not canceled in the middle sorry, sorry. But I don't like the feeling when I'm sucked into the story and then "kickswooshcrash" and I'm not knowing what's going to be next. And the last update is a over a year ago ;_;) I just wrote it down.

To give you more details now... hmmm... what about the mission? the two of them working as the gardeners to some old perverted father of some OZ general? (is writing this as the thoughts are coming) And they are wearing nothing but the dungarees? And are trimming the blackberries so the perverted owner of the property could peep on the neighbors? And it's the middle of the hot summer? And... and... hm... Wufei wants something cold to drink, but they can't go to the kitchen because they'll be recognized by the General, that came to visit his father?
Is this enough or you need some more or different details?

Comme je vois que tu as déjà plein de réponses, j'en profite pour rec la fic que je suis en train de lire et qui ne réponds à aucun de tes critères. C'est une WK fic, Schwartz centrée avec plein d'humour, d'humour noir et de sarcasmes. 172 chapitres (et je sais même pas si elle est finie !) Tu vas l'adorer. Jiraiya-centric Saki-chan ficlet-thingy

You've given us loads of brilliant fics and I've yet to give you a review. The least I could do is to give you some entertainment. Erm, I haven't written in forever (and never in this fandom) so please forgive the following attempt.

For the Saki-chan Universe:

Despite his inclination toward activities that've been rumored to leave him otherwise, Jiraiya is not blind. He was reluctant to speak of the similarities that winked and occasionally flat-out stared at him when he watched the three, but he had been the first to see them.

A boy striving for attention and validation, pining after a girl who barely noticed him, and admiring his sparring partner's skill when he thought the other wasn't looking. A girl loud and passionate when the female sex is taught to be quiet and submissive, awkward and yet sure of her dreams. A second boy haunted in daylight by his past and own shortcomings, uninterested in the bonds that cling to him so readily, and questing for more power even though he has already attained it in the eyes of his teammates.

Yes, Jiraiya sees the parallels readily enough. He often finds himself predicting their actions, forgetting that they are their own entities and not miscolored extensions of his past. He's had to stop himself from grabbing each boy and shaking them until they see the error in their ways. He's had to bite his tongue when the girl intervenes in an argument between the other two, one in which she has no place. He's seen them drifting further apart and yet twining around each other in their thoughts.

Jiraiya has looked on as the one so similar to himself weeps quietly by a crackling fire, exhausted from training until his limbs shake and give out, and claiming that the smoke (not the absence of those he loves most) has gotten to his eyes. He's stood still with chills scratching at his spine as reports filter in of the dangerous weapons the three have acquired and how they used these on one another to create emotional wounds that are still, to this day, raw around the edges.

These three have walked the same path he and his own two teammates started out on so many years ago. The scenery has changed, but the path is just as perilous and life-altering as he remembers it.

Because Jiraiya sees these things, he is abruptly and unpleasantly shocked when the path he knew so well takes a turn. No, perhaps "takes a leap behind a rock and off a fucking cliff" is a better way of phrasing it.

His girl never returned his affectionate glances like this pink-haired one does, never took an interest in his long-winded exploits or smiled like that at him. His sparring partner never returned to learn from his mistakes and accept the help of those who cared about him. He never found security or socially-taboo bliss in the arms of those who once shared his tears, blood, and dreams.

And he had most certainly never encouraged his boy to wear makeup and pose as another person. Of course, his boy grew into a cruel, twisted being that did these things anyway, but Jiraiya was not the one to help this development along.

It's not that Jiraiya dislikes Saki-chan. She is a gentle and soothing presence that softens the other two, balancing them in a way that is both subtle and shimmering with power. He can even begin to see what his younger self might have seen in her... fine bone structure accenting glossy, pink lips... dark eyes teasing and amused in contrast to the innocent, demure body language... long, powerful legs and muscles beneath milky skin and floral patterns that whisper of endurance... silky hair that...

Yes, it's been established that Jiraiya does not dislike Saki-chan. He may even be jealous of the happiness she has brought to the other two, as odd and cumbersome as their situation may seem. After writing so many tasteful novels on the subject of love, Jiraiya thinks that he should be more willing to accept and support this romantic configuration that has been set before him.

And yet, Jiraiya finds himself wary of the new, united Sennin. He's disoriented now and can't see how these three relate to their pre-assigned roles. The wounds are still there, seeping through their happiness.

When Saki-chan goes on leave, the other two are momentarily thrown off and readjust their behavior to accommodate the boy whose eyes still flash red whenever someone mentions the words "brother" or "hatred." The pink-haired girl hides behind her newfound physical strength to mask her still-present insecurities. The last boy occasionally grows somber and glances nervously between his loved ones, afraid that either one might leave him.

For all of their flaws and rough edges, the three have remained together. Even when one of the three changes beyond recognition on a regular basis, they are together. He sees Saki-chan as a crutch, as another potential weakness in their bonds, but the three do not see it this way.

Jiraiya wonders what it is that prevents them from splintering apart and keeping bonds severed as the three before them did. Why is it that these three are so similar and yet so different? He wants to accept them, but the bleeding edges of his own past won't allow him to.

The new Rokudaime tugged at the formal robes. They'll need to be altered because despite the growth spurt, she'll would never have the shoulders or the height to properly fill out the coat.

"But!" Sakura smacked Naruto over the head; there's been occasional bouts of outraged flailing ever since Tsunade announced her successor.

"You'd hate the paperwork anyway." Not like Inner-Sakura hasn't been complaining *already* at the sake-stained backlog Tsunade left her.

"But Tsunade-hag said when she gave me the--" Sakura cut off Naruto's mid-flail and waddling bounce.

"You'd complain at not taking missions."

"But Sakura, it's not like I'm not already--"

Sasuke shut the door behind him. "Moron, at least wait until *after* you give birth. No one's going to trust you to run the village on your mood swings."

Naruto turned her eyes all large and wobbly-cute. Sasuke refused to face the look directly. Sakura was still smug; after she'd suffered through carrying Uzumaki-Uchiha fraternal twins (trust them to start tusseling *in* the womb), she'd...convinced Naruto to carry their next set.

It involved a guilt trip, copious amounts of alcohol, careful application of Sexy-no-Jutsus (plural), and a feather boa.

It amuses Sakura that Sasuke has been markedly more polite to her since.

heee!! The random tense changes at the beginning made it a little hard to read, but -- XD!!!!! did i understand right -- SAKURA is the next Hokage?? *ded of lmao* And Naruto carrying the next set of babies, and the parting line, they keel me ded. *snickergigglesnort* Thank you so much ^_________^

I made your list of roll-overs? Awww ^_^ I already wrote and posted all my weekend ficcage though. I'm working on the next DR, I finally know where ANBU is going- hey, maybe if I have the time, I can try to post ANBU in the next few days; it's nearly finished.
