Come write Psychic Wolves for Lupercalia - A Multi-Fandom Mini-Fest, February Thirteenth through Fifteenth!

Bluh. Why do none of my fandoms fit with telepathic wolves. I tried to come up with something for Stargate Atlantis but the only thing I managed to visualize was episode one with added wolfsister who is actually not quite John Sheppard's but used to be the sister of that guy he tried to rescue who died on him instead. And she changes NOTHING, which means this is not a good fic idea, and I don't want any longer, more divergent fic because, uh, because maybe it's a sign that I should update the Gundam Wing one I started last year faster instead. .__.;

But if someone wanted to write SGA/SG1 with wolves I would be so happy. SO. HAPPY. The happiest.

Fuck, that was crappy. Trying to make raps about your situation normally gives you some distance from it. Ain't working this time. Maaaybe 'cause your tiny not-a-pack's tinier murderbot mascot (Halgal may not have much skill in rapping, but you like her style when it comes to nicknames) showed for all the world to see that he believes you won't rescue him even if you've been told to.

Maybe the way he's waiting for you to toss him away and leave him for the guys you're running from to find has something to do with it, too.

You don't get it. Sure, you've got yourself a cast-iron rep - in your old pack, you damn well needed it, even teenybot knows that. But where the hell does that rep say you're gonna let a six-year-old get himself killed?

The bit that really feels like Seb-bot shoved something sharp in your gut, though, is how he was yelling for Hal. Halgal maybe pats him on the head roughlike, but she's just as quick to pinch or punch to get attention on her.

'Cept, thinking about it, you've never seen her punch him. Pinches when he's getting too sure of himself, sure, teenybot's got a permanent black spot on his upper arm, but she gets all claws-in with him like she's a cat.

You've never punched him. Never pinched him, neither. Strict hands-off policy, that's you; so what if it means no headpats? Ain't not being hurt worth not being hugged?

Way Seb-bot's acting like you'd throw him out for a half-dime, seems he thinks the answer's no.

What the hell are you meant to do about that?

The group dynamics are fucked-up. None of them know how to do healthy interactions, so Hal is 'disciplining' Seb and Squarewave every time they do something she thinks is dangerous and bristling warily at Sawtooth. She's also hugging the younger kids and making it clear that she cares about them, though, so it's better than what they had in the twisted pack - which, it has to be remembered, is their only real point of reference.

Seb is now panicking that he's going to get thrown out for not being good enough because that's how the twisted pack worked. Sawtooth is basically thinking, 'Well I know that I care about them and wouldn't leave any of them behind, how can the little kid not see past my perfect poker face and hear the words I refuse to get near to saying? How come he can't tell that I would totally hug all of them if that wouldn't intrude on my preferred personal space of two metres minimum?'

Hal will sort this out - kind of. Sawtooth's punishment for scaring Seb (by not making it obvious that he would back him up) will be to be sat on, literally, by Squarewave for the next four evenings. By the third, Seb will be cautiously creeping over and poking at Sawtooth's foot, and Sawtooth will be glaring huffily in the general direction of the sky and not complaining. Then, when the punishment's over, Seb will sit on Sawtooth's lap to eat that evening.

Hal, of course, will miraculously have a camera (or equivalent) to hand. I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn that it's broken by the next morning, and Seb has a proud bounce in his step all day.

Extra note for the sake of it: it might not come across well in the fic, but when Seb was thinking that Hal having them as weaknesses was a cuddleable thought, he meant that it's his private security blanket/soft toy. It's not tangible, but that just means no one else can steal it or ruin it.
