Come write Psychic Wolves for Lupercalia - A Multi-Fandom Mini-Fest, February Thirteenth through Fifteenth!

Bluh. Why do none of my fandoms fit with telepathic wolves. I tried to come up with something for Stargate Atlantis but the only thing I managed to visualize was episode one with added wolfsister who is actually not quite John Sheppard's but used to be the sister of that guy he tried to rescue who died on him instead. And she changes NOTHING, which means this is not a good fic idea, and I don't want any longer, more divergent fic because, uh, because maybe it's a sign that I should update the Gundam Wing one I started last year faster instead. .__.;

But if someone wanted to write SGA/SG1 with wolves I would be so happy. SO. HAPPY. The happiest.

She studies you, almost feral with her pain. She's looking for pity so that she has an excuse to claw your guts out, but you show her nothing and that only stokes her fury higher.

High enough that she says it, sweetly vicious.

By the time your vision clears, you are outside and your partner is walking (limping) by your side.

The fur cover on his false leg is growing manky. You'll need to get some new furs and sew up a replacement soon, before the metal starts showing through.

Phantom pain sparks through you with every step he takes. It took you a couple of years to stop wincing. By now, you think you might not know you were bound to him if not for the pain.

You make sure you know how your lil' bros are doing. Shit happens. If Deck (seriously, kiddos?) gets injured, you don't want them making medical decisions half-out of their minds.

Could end worse than with a faulty experimental leg grafted directly into - into Deck's nerves.

Worse than not being able to run with the pack any more.

You can feel yourself smiling, though you don't think it's funny. All those romantic ideas about lone wolves, they all get it so wrong. You'd never tell anyone, and you aren't sure if even your pack-raised sister gets it, but you know like you know how bad it hurts to walk...

Lone wolves are the ones who're too worthless to get to join a pack.

This is why Bro didn't even try to make pack with Deck - it would be the worst thing he could do them. 'Here, let me drag you into my corner of useless-and-potentially-dangerous so that every other wolf you ever meet is going to say you'd only get to join the pack as omega. This sounds like a wonderfully caring display of brotherly love.' Dave and Dirk weren't aware of just how bad the leg is -

(gah, I need to rewrite this scene there's so much I missed out like 'Bro's wolf doesn't accept a name any more because he doesn't feel like he's worthy of one' and 'Dave and Dirk are actually Bro's sons but he's got commitment issues like whoa and felt he could do better as an older brother than as a father' and 'Bro was born a Lalonde and chose the surname Strider when he went to the bachelor pack because it sounded more badass'.)

- but now that they're around other wolves every day it's more of an intentional denial - 'There's no way Bro is some kind of cripple!'

It'll be interesting if Rose ever gets to have her meeting with Bro.

oh my yes, Rose and Bro could have really fun interaction. Or Bro and Karkat. "yeah my wolf has decided you need to stfu and get into the pack. you can be an advisor shut up."

Karkat and Empress would be more, "Huh, you can't fight or run? Good of you not to drag Dave and Dirk down." Karkat would see it as really noble and not at all unreasonable, and Empress bases her social understanding on what Karkat knows/believes because he's her partner.

IF the pack runs into Bro it'll be John who goes, "We don't care, come join us!"

And then Bro will end up being guard-and-first-teacher of the pups/kids/wigglers, and he will be totally disbelieving "I used to be cool. How did I end up as pack Nanny?" but he won't mind, because it's a really important/high-status position that he and his partner can do despite being handicapped.

And Dave yells at him a lot, and Dirk does some really aggressive ignoring, and Deck makes a point of pissing on his clothes and his partner's sleeping area for a month. And then Rose gets tired of it and therapies (therapises?) the five of them until they have a public crying-and-hugging/licking breakdown. And all* the trolls (*for a given value of all) are horrified because they are being utterly shameless palewhores, seriously, what was that thing about incest?
