Adi: that is actually why this whole thing happened. Jade said "Dave, I have a scientific hypothesis that Karkat's horns are too nubly to hang pretty things on. Would you like to help me gather evidence?"

Noogies was my first thought, but upon closer inspection this looks more like surprise!horngrope. ;D Jade needs to hang mistletoe off those horns. The perfect excuse.

I do love the coloring and shading on this piece. The red is so pretty and yet not a giant mass of a single color. Karkat's face is a picture perfect moment of hilarity. It really makes me wonder how sensitive his horns are....or where his mind is. Hmmm...Maybe he doesn't have the keratin buildup like bigger horns have to cover the core bundle of nerves? Are Dave's horns notched like baby teeth that wear down to smoothness with use (as a sign of age and badassery mebbe?) or are they just notched period?

Ooooh wait, in this verse will Dave and Karkat will both have the same color blood and eyes? And oh, does Callie fill the genetic factor for limebloods in the hemospectrum or is that color missing entirely?

Ulp. Return of wordy over curiousness. Gah, self control, what self control? x_x

Oh and on that note, I'm wondering if "candy-red" is a blood colour that shows up in the native people, or is it reserved for the gods/legendary figures, whatever?

Dave is totes tweaking his horns. I dunno if they're sensitive, I don't have the horns as sensual/sexual organs headcanon personally, but they're still sensory organs and it's kinda like having your eyes covered by someone you're not sure you trust, plus being hugely fazmiliar because anything from dave to karkat is going to be taken as too familiar by karkat at this point. XD

Yes on blood color and eyes. Callie brings the rareish lime color, but not whatever the limebloods had been like in trolls.

No, red is the most common color, since that's eight people total who have it in the original god group where the other colors only have two of each.

I was thinking less sexual organ and more exposed nerve in the root of a tooth. Being a sensory organ is pretty different. :) Ogling the picture some more (which wasn't exactly hardship) I think you got the eyes being covered feeling just perfect. Also, this picture never fails to give me the urge to do exactly what Dave is doing. The power of adorabloodthirsty bottled in a jpeg~
