Oh yeah, very different in other ways. For one thing, I think Aradia is a little more sane than Fefrei, how else can you explain the princess of the evil empire who was raised by the slaughter monster that eats other kids parents to care so much for everyone? Purple is the color of royalty and madness. And I can't see her down in the dirt with a trowel, sieve and grid-squares, doing some hardcore archeology. yeah, aradia is more down to earth in a way. Fef's an idealist. XD also she has a lot of unconscious class privilege that she doesn't notice, I think, it shows mostly in how unafraid she is (of her ideas being dismissed out of hand, of being disrespected/culled/hurt) whereas I don't think Aradia lives in fear exactly -- she's badass too -- but she's more aware of things like that. As a rustblood she'd have to be.
My Gamzee/Karkat dynamic is that Gamzee knows how much of a part of Karkat this caring for everything and everyone is, and he finds it adorable (also something to pity karkat over because it's EMOTIONALLY EXHAUSTING and also like trying to empty the ocean with a pail >:D), so he allows it, but he REALLY wouldn't like anyone trying to pity/care for/counsel/calm down Karkat right back, because that's *his* role, and if karkat allowed someone to make pale overtures on him now that he would consider cheating. Whereas karkat being snappishly worried for everyone and advising them all doesn't have to be personal, since he still guards himself like crazy around most people.

Nepeta tilts her head and makes one of her retarded kitty mouth-noises that she thinks are cute. You sigh. You're too tired to find it annoying. (Not so tired you actually find it cute, you'd have to cull yourself, but almost enough to feel a little twinge of a pale desire to pat her head and tell her all about how ridiculous she is, in the nicest way possible. You get random shooshpapping twinges around just about everyone you know, though -- and instead of getting territorial over the mere mention Gamzee finds it adorable as all fuck, so you just try to ignore it and only guilt about it the barest minimum.)
