Homestuck -- um, yeah. >__>;

So I might or might not have written a Homestuck fic.

And it might or might not be total porn, with like zero redeeming qualities or even anything pertaining to a plot, I don't even know how the heck the characters got there seriously it's like they popped into existence already making out. This NEVER happens to my fics.

Also it's title-less because I hate titles. I'm going to start going with Alternian conventions for titles; this one'll probably be known as "wherein Dave Strider proceeds to top an embarrassed but willing Karkat Vantas; contains mild headgames, sloppy makeouts, voyeurism, exploration of alien genitals, bucket-filling, and a poor, defiled white couch, seriously who buys white couches anyway."

I might or might not have like three other WIPs in progress for that fandom, two of which are John/Karkat and one of which manages to be shockingly, social-rules-breakingly poly even considering the usual troll approach to relationships. (The file is called Hippie Commune Fic.) I'm not even surprised at myself anymore. I'm kind of praying the bunnies'll die off before I can sit down and write them, because two of 'em promise to be longass WIPs and one of the Karkat/John is somehow a goddamned fantasy AU seriously what the fucking fuckity fuck self. (and might also be turning kids/karkat on me, what IS it with me and whoring the poor guy out.)

I'm kinda hoping it'll be like the Conan fandom and once i'm out of the honeymoon stage and I manage to bang out the couple of first spontaneous bunnies, things will slow down a bit, because it's embarrassing how much homestuck fic i've been mainlining recently. I'm not even entirely done catching up on canon for fuck's sake.

(also, not abandoning either Naruto, Gundam Wing or FF7. Seriously. I'm the kind of fan who keeps picking up new fandoms and never really puts them back down. I know, I tried! *eyes GW sideway*)

Dang girl. What is Homestuck anyway? I miss reading your writing, so I might plunge into this one without even joining the fandom. ^^;

It's a... webcomic, I guess? Made with not-very-pretty sprites most pages, and sometimes there's flash games or videos as part of the storyline whoch is kind of kickass, made sort of in a format that sounds like a "choose your own adventure" or one of those old text based games. (there's stuff like "character=> do something. *blahblah you do this and that, and this happens.*") Also a lot of the plot/character interaction is shown via IM logs, with each character having their own text color and typing peculiarities, some being near unreadable. OnE oF tHe GuYs SpEaKs In AlTeRnAtInG cApS, for example, and man was that annoying to write. o.o Some people really don't like it, and I really understand that. It kinda stopped me several times. XD;

The story is about four thirteen year old kids who play a game together that just happens to start the apocalypse. Then they have very confusing adventures in the game world, with lots of time traveling paradoxes and stuff like that. Eventually (like a bazilion pages in, did I mention the story so far is about six thousand pages long, no kidding, even if a lot of them are very short/one pic only) they start to interact with internet trolls who nag them and stuff, only it turns out they're ACTUAL trolls, as in not human. There's twelve of them and they also played the game on their own planet, and they almost won but a glitch in the humans' session fucked it up for them. >___>

Anyway the strongest draw for me is the characters. Also the trolls in general being kind of violent aliens with really weird societal concepts, like how they're hatched in batches by a mother grub and raised not by adults of their own species but by sentient-ish animals, or their really weird concept of romance. Hatesex is an Actual Recognized Thing, and homosexuality/homophobia isn't! as in, they're all canonly bisexual, the one girl who shows a preference for female partners isn't even a lesbian like a human would be, more like, the creator's words, a chubby chaser, it's just her kink or something, and one of the other troll guys actually kind of asks out one of the human boys. XD Anyway with my love of rivalries and polyamorous shenanigans and weird xeno/nonhuman societies it's made for me, but it's not for everyone. Also the humour is very juvenile at times (but everyone already knows I'm actually twelve, so. >_>;;)

...Godfuckingdamnit. *Ventures off resignedly to look up Homestuck.*

Despite Homestuck having a fairly PG-13-ish (somewhere between PG and PG-13) rating (if it had one), I am somehow inclined to lean back and say, "yup. Sounds like Homestuck."

And somehow you are making me more interested in Karkat than I was before. :/

Heck yes they are, and I wish they weren't! TOO MUCH. OVERLOADING. Also, you really, really have to catch up. EXCITING STUFF IS HAPPENING. THAT I THINK YOU MAY TAKE INTEREST IN. Although that's not saying much, because exciting stuff is always happening.

Good point. Yeah, I can see how that might be kind of predictable, unless Karkat's whatever-tier skills are actually comparable to Naruto-verse skills. Then that might be interesting.
Otherwise, maybe part 2 Sakura would be more interesting and less dangerous. But yeah, the chemistry between Dave and Karkat is probably the best fit that I can think of right now (as I can certainly tell in your PWP fic. I am enjoying all of Dave's hilarious attempts at coolness, and going 'hmm!' in the good way at the thought of Dave ignoring all of Karkat's sputters and topping like a boss.)

Eridan blew up the matriorb and STUFF, the bastard, and Terezi went investigating. (goddamn "let's off half the cast" arc, i'm so glad i got spoilered for who's left at the end), now I'm up to John and one of the carapace guys (i can't remember their names, it's the mayor one) are driving around the checkboard desert in a wind-powered car XD)

I wonder if anything happens that means Karkat could reach God Tier later on, since the trolls' session is finished and his dream self is dead I assumed it meant he couldn't. (which is very sad, i wanna see what a Knight of Blood could do... okay I mostly want to see his God Tier ridiculous adorable pyjama costume and fairy wings, it'd be adorablolarious.) anyway if it doesn't in canon that there better be fic for it, because goddamnit I want God Tier Karkat! Heck, I want them all God Tier. It's not fair otherwise. >_____>

Oh man, someone made a comment in the kink meme and now i'm sorta tempted to write a sequel where karkat turns the tables on him, and oh man he has to use PSYCHOLOGY to take him apart because otherwise let's be serious Dave would just sit there and pretend nothing that's going on has any effect on him, which is really irritating and counterproductive. I wonder how Karkitty will manage that. XD

I'm...not sure I can imagine what a God Tier Karkat would be like. Maybe he'd just get owned by all the other godtiers or something because I have no idea what would happen otherwise.

And YES. (How dare you make me want that but) YES. Dave sitting there pretending to be chill would be an awesome scene, if there's a lot of tension/buildup. It would be irritating and counterproductive if the mood is relaxed and Dave doesn't actually have any problems brushing it off, though, yes. Hmmm.

Oh, good! Now I can safely say that things are getting EVEN SHIPPIER. (I can't say I saw the Rose "hitting on" Kanaya part coming, although I can say that I like it!) And I kinda expected Karkat and Dave to get along less and have more tension between them, because of Terezi or something. Or maybe that's because I've stalked the homestuck cast on CFUD before and now I'm a bit out of touch with canon relationships...

I have a hard time buying that the game would break the robe-only pattern just make a bucket a part of Karkat's godtier outfit (unless it's a captchalogue-able bonus item?), but I can buy that the game would screw him over equally well!

I'm not sure if he can still become godtier now, though, since they're heading to the new session. I'm tempted to say no, but if Kanaya can find a way to get her orb back...

It's not a fivesome so much as a... let's go with foursome moirallegiance where almost everyone macks on karkat some. XD But I don't know yet if it'll turn out like that at all, or stay john/karkat. Either one sounds shiny to me.

XD I started out kinda John/Dave/Karkat and then Jade was all "hey! D:" and she had cute scenes popping up and Dave was pretty much only there for a couple one night stands. Idek. (they do all top the hell out of karkat, though, bwahaha characterization twin) Rose isn't interested in karkitty booty at all, but she likes to pick his brain for info on trolls.

Aren't fic remixes for fic that already exists though? D: i'd have to write hella fast. Haven't looked at the shipping olympics yet... linkplz?

The shipping olympics happened in... the fall? Yeah, they ended around October. People made teams for their fav. pairings (or moresomes) and competed with fic & art in 4 rounds!

I played for team Jade♥John♥Rose♥Dave and we took home the gold in the final collab round, and 11th place in the overall olympics. XDb (Actually I think you've read what we did for the collab round, the fic with Subjugglator Rose!) It was a lot of fun! Some people were worried that encouraging competition between 'ships like that would be troublesome, but honestly the wank was kept pretty minimal. One douchebag who looked like he was trying to get Homestuck fandom onto fandom wank had to be banned, but otherwise things went smoothly. So there might be another shipping olympics later, since everybody had such a great time!

Sadly I wasn't able to get team Jade/Karkat/John going, but next time I will try again!
(My backup will be Vriska/John/Karkat, because I love the threesomes. I love them so.)

They don't, on account of the ff7 world is a mix of japanese and norse traditions and neither of them is big on christianity, and narutoverse is full-on shinto/buddhist. :p FF7verse might have yule traditions but I already tried to write that and failed, and anyway i'm really not in the mood for holiday fic.
