okay, no, i'm still fretting about it.

latest demon patrol chapter did pretty well on tumblr, but then on AO3 it went from 20-30 comments average to 7. could be

-everone already read it on tumblr (even though on previous chapters it made no difference, this chapter did wait a bit longer before being AO3ized...?)

-"on average" means that there will be fluctuating clusters of people who usually don't review but this time they will... and therefore there will also be clusters where they don't, and it's fairly random!

-maybe i posted it at a time where people were busy with other stuff irl? convention, religious holiday?

-not a lot of action happened?

-it feels transitiony...?

but of course the only one i can think of is i did something people didn't like/enjoy or that was confusing. it's not really the number itself that's an issue, it's that it's a pretty big dip proportionally speaking so i'm having a hard time shrugging it off.

... and while i'm whining about it i realize i didn't even post it here. wow yeah that's not gonna look like begging for reviews at all. orz

btw! i also sometimes review and sometimes do not. if it helps at all, i am literally in the middle of doing finals because this week coming is finals week and there might be others who are doing the same!

im only on know cause i just finished 1/4 essays i have to finish by tueseday for a class so wanted to celebrate and check my email T.T

I'm saving it to read until after finals! It posted to ao3 right during the end-of-semester crunch; I'll bet other US student readers are in a similar boat.

I'm an AO3 reader who never comments because I'm hella shy and never know what to say...but of course I'm still reading and enjoying, and I'm sure the other readers are, too! You could've posted the most shit chapter ever and I'd still come back for more next time. :p Keep in mind also that it's finals time for loads of people! :)

Well, count one person toward "read it on Tumblr, so I haven't gone to read the (beta'd) AO3 version yet".

Normally that's where I read first, but for whatever reason this time around I ended up reading it elsewhere, and since I've been working this week I haven't done a full reread (which I only do on the Archive) or even a half-reread in a while.
