teamwork - NAME THOSE OCs!
It's kind of mean of me to throw them at Kyuubi and not even give them a name or a face. u.u
Girl, boy, boy. Product colors may not be as they appear on the box. u.u I was just blocking the dark/light/warm areas, so what looks red might turn out to be orange, purple or magenta.
The resemblance of Redhead-kun to Rabbi of D.Gray-man is purely accidental but ehh, with hair hiding one of his eyes and a big ponytail I'm pretending it's not that bad. Smug-kun reminds me of some other character but... When i try to figure it out I get Ebisu pings, and no, that's not it. Did I accidentally steal another charadesign again? DX
What I know about Team Fodder:
-They're around thirteen and it's their first chuunin exam.
-Serious-chan isn't very close to her teammates because they're such boys and much less mature than she is of course. ... I bet she's a big sister and all her little siblings are boys and SUPER annoying.
-redhead-kun is the only one who stood his ground (more or less) when Kyuubi charged so either he's really brave/strong/noble-minded or he really loevs his teammates. He is also the smallest & youngest, and either gay or hormonally challenged (did not react much to the sexy no jutsu.) He favors a spear. ... I think he's kinda friendly-innocent. Kind of a Gon type...? hm, yeah.
-glasses-kun is not really a coward, but he's not exactly super brave either. He's persuaded that he's very smart and mature for his age but no, he's still a kid and when things go bad he still has the reflex of looking for his sensei instead of dealing with it on his own. He likes Red-kun but in a "haha, you're so funny *headpat*" way.
I think Serious-chan and Glasses-kun keep butting heads on the topic of who, exactly, is leading this goddamn team -- he's smarter (not that much, he just dresses like he is XD) but she has a better instinctive grasp on melee fighting and she's more tenacious; he's smarter about when it's time to cut your losses, she'd be the kind to dig her heels in even if it's suicidally stupid. But actually in the end they tend to go with Red-kun's ideas without any of them even noticing. They'd be arguing and he'd drift away in his own direction after a rabbit or a glimpse of river water, and then they'd start to drift after him, not really noticing who decided which way to go because they were too busy telling each other why their preferred direction is better than each other's.
What I don't know about Team Fodder:
-Their names,
-What village they're from,
-What fighting styles they have (apart from Red-kun, with his beehive attack... beehive? where the hell is that from? does he have family who are into beekeeping or something?), whether any of them summons (probably not yet), etcetera.
... and actually just by writing this out I figured out quite a bit about their basic personalities. XD Whee for free babble! It always shakes interesting things loose from the dark corners of my brain.
Okay self, time to fill those character sheets.

Body type, appearance: Dark blue hair. The glasses are tinted to compensate for light sensitivity, not nearsightedness or other problems. (just figured that out! XD)
Physical abilities: Average fighting abilities; good eyesight in the dark (some kind of eye-based bloodline again? Man. Maybe he's a bastard scion with a greatly weakened bloodline... yeah. >.>)
Status: Genin
Personality: Smug, though he's also nice to most people; proud... um what else.
Family: Parents, no siblings.

Background: not rich but still not what i'd call poor.

Serious-Chan - Well if you want to play out her age and that she is from a large family you can play with a numeral naming scheme - like Ichiko.
Glasses-kun - the first thing I thought of was playing with names that mean light or darkness like Akira or Akagi.

But I do know, that in one of the random filler arcs that involve Team 8, they go up against a family/team that has control of bees. And I am fairly sure there is something LIKE a beehive attack. XD I thought that was who you were referencing when you mentioned beehive attacks at all. :FF But maybe have a look into it? Iunno, it may be filler, but it might give you ideas?

Serious-chan = Mikuri, it's a species of reed (Sparganium erectum), though since it branches it doesn't fit the long slender mental association I had going. Misukusa is an obscure word for cattail and ogara is hemp reed, but both of those feel more likely for surnames than given names.
Megane-kun = Anshi means night vision. :D

This might just be me being a shameless megane-kyara fangirl, but visually Smug-kun reminds me of several characters--the shape of the glasses frames resemble Ishida Uryuu's specs, his expression reminds me of Ootori Kyouya (head tilted down, looking all "let me tell you just how much smarter I am than you are"-ish), and the way he's pushing his glasses up makes me think of Kabuto. Err. How he used to push his glasses up, anyway.
Kabuto, being crazycakes does not necessarily make you look better. I mean, see better. I mean. ...Moving on.So I don't think you stole any specific character design, just the general megane-guy one, unless there's a character out there who looks very similar to Smug-kun and I just haven't seen him yet. "Yet" being the operative word there. :D Megane~

Red-kun sounds like someone Naruto would like but someone who is going to DIE a horrible and bloody death because he won't rabbit like a good little genin. I do think he sounds somewhat like the family in that filler arc that was actually cool, if only because Hinata was naked and wet for half of it. (And we got to see her dance) But I don't remember where they were from.
Serious will probably survive this, especially if she runs away from his awesome power, if only because she's female and close to puberty. Kyubbi has a need and Sakura can't bare more cubs until she has this one.

Smug-kun looks a bit like Karin to me *tilts head* its in the glasses shape, the i'm-obviously-smarter-then-u-ness vibe, the clothing (sorta) and a feeling that if his hair were a tad longer it'd do that spikey thing every ones hair does?
if Red-kun grew up on a mountain then Team Fodder would most likely come from Earth, Lightening or Cloud country, they're the ones with big mountain ranges .....i think..... who has a map of naruto's world?
As for names, leilia suggested Ichiko for serious-chan and tephralynn suggested Mikuri or Misukusa as last names for her. Again gonna go with tephralynn's suggestion of some variation of Yaki for Red-kun .....was Magane a suggestion for Smug-kun's name? coz if so it sounds alot like the girl's name megan(someone's mother wanted a daughter, hmmm? XD)and he would have coped alot of flak for that as a kid...sorta like Jin (who just looks like a girl) Speaking of Jin, Smug-kun and blood-line eye tricks, could the reason Hyuuga clan marks their branch member be because Kagami got one/some of their branch memebers stolen and their eye tricked ganked by the aforementioned countries and Smug-kun is the result of a) the genes being diluted too much or b) tampering with the genes that made the ganked!bloodline weaker?
*is rambling* anyways those names sound good to me, ordinary names not a i-have-an-ultimate-destiny-(in Kyuubi's stomach)and-shall-save-the-world(by giving him indigestion)-PH3AR-my-uber-cool-name names......i need sleep.
