This is not a detailed analysis, I don't even talk about the chapter as a whole. It's an alright chapter. I just -- this line. It. it. It just...

Yamato: Your wind-element jutsu will lose against Sasuke's fire-element jutsu. The only way to beat fire is water.

Naruto: How come?
Yamato: Wind feeds a fire and makes it stronger. Water puts it out. So if you countered Sasuke's fire jutsu with a wind jutsu of the same strength, you'd only make the fire stronger.

Yamato: But take another look at the wind element. It may be weak against fire, but it's strong against lightning.

Yamato: Meaning that your new jutsu can overcome Sasuke's ultimate lightning jutsu... your new jutsu can beat Chidori!

That really was the cutest line. But I am worried that Sasuke will not accept help. Of course, if you beat him down and tie him up, and force the help on him... that might work.

And I loved the Kakashi and Shikamaru action in the latest chapter. Inner squeals and chair bouncing ensued.

And in other news: they were selling Kakashi bookmarks at my son's school's bookfair. I was highly entertained by the selling of bookmarks featuring a man reading porn. The Medium Sized Boy commented on how Kakashi is always blushing while reading. I did not enlighten the bookfair people about the bookmarks.

Sometimes their entire relationship reminds of the line from Buffy, when Spike shows up back in Sunnydale all despondant because Dru has dumped him. Oh yeah, about the elements thing...true that he hasn't clarified any of it before, but the foundation for that information has been there all along, considering all their nature techniques, especially the big fight between Sandaime and Orochimaru in which all the major jutsus were elemental.

And I guess a person should just KNOW that certain elements are weaker and stronger than others and naturally expect that with the techniques but...whatever. XD

Kishimoto did take ages to finally clarify all of it though. Oh well!! It's good that there will still be new things to learn regarding the way of the ninja! XD

But what I don't get, is why Yamato is focusing on Sasuke's Chidori. I mean, it's been almost three years, our little Bastard-chan is bound to have more tricks up his sleeve. Aha Sasuke DOES have sleeves. XD!

And~ Sasuke has probably already thought of some way to counter Rasegan or at least figure out a way to nulify it or SOMETHING. He's Sasuke. It's what he does.

Why do I get the feeling that Sakura's affiliated with water?
This is similar to the old Taoist Element system, but with different elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood) However, we've seen the missing elements (wood, metal) as combos of the current elements. Hmmm...
