hmmm... I never go much for a TRUE OTP, but I always find myself going back to Touya and Yuki from Card Captor Sakura (even did the

ship_manifesto for it. It's probably because they're one of the most functional canon shonen ai relationships I've ever seen.

Though if you want Naruto, I'm firmly in the SasuNaru camp, simple because of the parallels between them. I'm a sucker for rival slash, and the power dynamic between the two is complex and can be interpreted.

My pet peeve is myself, actually. I hate it when I typo, and I admit that I'm less than graceful when it's pointed out.

Another fandom pet peeve has to be the dominance of oneshots and drabbles. I miss the older fandoms, where stories actually contained more than a simple idea - they contained a lot of plot.

Oneshots can be good. Sometimes it's better to concentrate on one idea rather than drown it under a hundred of subplots and stuff. But drabbles... Ahh, drabbles, perfect for the lazy mind. XD either they're good and you're all "wahh now i have a mental picture and i'm hungry for mooooore and there isn't more" or they're not good and you're wondering why they wasted the space. XD

He claims that his english isn't that good(he's in Sweden, so I gave him that) but for CRIMINY'S SAKE. Punctuation is freaking universal. UARGH and I hate him so very very much. There's other reasons, too, but that takes too long.

I've mentioned what Sakura thinks about Naruto here, and i'm too lazy to type it up again. XD

Tsunade isn't mentioning anything related to the romantic side of things because she's 1) not very close to Sakura, and 2) more or less waiting for them to fail. u_u;;;

Oh yeah, trailing off into nothing is a great effect, if it's used consciously as an actual effect, not as the standard "here's the end of the sentence" thinger. Urgh. ( XD other reasons, eh?)

I do have one question about your Teamwork fi. Didn't Sakura train with Tsunade and Sasuke train with Orochimaru? I assume you excluded that, but I would like to know why if it's not too much trouble.

no, they didn't. Teamwork assumes that Naruto managed to win against Sasuke at the Valley of the End. It's mentioned quickly in a few places in the main fic, and a little more detailed in "Progression", which is a series of ficlets about Naruto between the Valley of the End and the start of Teamwork. Sasuke never managed to leave Konoha, Orochimaru was killed a few months later, and Sakura never had any reason to push aside her lack of confidence and seek out Tsunade. She has an internship at the hospital and Shizune, Tsunade's assistant, gave her and a half-dozen of other people lessons for a few months, but before Teamwork started, Sakura had never really talked with Tsunade one-on-one.

I am eventually going to mention what exactly went differently in the fight between Naruto and Sasuke, but since that's spoiler, i'm not going to say what. :D But yeah, I know exactly when and how it diverged.

- Teamwork Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke: OMG WHY DON'T YOU HAVE SEX (AGAIN) ALREADY. YOU'RE KILLING ME.

- Uhh, my favorite OTP(3) is NaruSasuSaku. They work so well together and not at all apart and asf;djasjfs I LOVE THEM. They've got so much angst and so many layers and ugh, they belong together. <3 I'm pretty sure I can't say anything about this threesome you don't know already, but there you go. I have other pairings/threesomes I love in other fandoms, but I can generally be persuaded into other pairings with good writing and an open mind. I'm never really comfortable reading about anyone from Team 7 with someone not in Team 7.

Favorite crack pairing? Homan. Ichigo/Ishida from Bleach (or ANYONE/Ishida from Bleach, because that boy needs to get his ass topped good), mostly because they're both socially inept and bitchy and one of the first porny things I read for that fandom was an utterly hilarious fic about the two of them. Good stuff.

- Pet peeve: hooobaby, I've got a lot. Basically, in fanfics, OOC-ness. I don't care that you're writing about romance, some characters absolutely would not ever call anyone "love" or "pet," especially not their male rival with whom they fight on a regular basis. That sort of thing makes me want to find the author and puke on their head. >:(

Ooh ooh ooh! Sakura, from the first time fic! What do you think of the town/house so far? How's it feel to be away from the hidden village? And what's your overall opinion of civilian life? (I'm kind of curious how you think about your mother coming from this kind of life, too, but I've probably asked too much already. *grin*)

My OTP would have to be Kusanagi/Batou forever, even though I can't actually imagine them in a sexual relationship. It's the incredible loyalty Batou shows to her, and that she echoes, that makes me love the way the two of them work. And my crack pairing has to be The Monarch/Dr. Girlfriend from The Venture Brothers (even though they're canon in the show--well, until they broke up--any pairing where one of the characters is a supervillain named "The Monarch" after the butterfly counts as crack, dangit). They're so weird, because they act like such a normal couple with normal reactions and fights, except they're supervillains. And kind of bad at it. I suck at explaining, but they're hilarious in the show.

Heh, my pet peeve is people that make me uncomfortable by being excessively friendly too soon. I mean, there's some people that are cool because it seems so much like a part of their personality that it's not even noticable, so I don't know how I judge the stuff, but still. Rrr. That and character bashing.

Um, lesse... Teamwork, Mrs. Haruno! During the dinner scene in Chapter 5, you and your husband “chuckle softly” when Naruto offhandedly admits to his hopelessness with flowers. Sasuke's monologue speculates that this might be due to some private joke. Care to explain? ^_^

OTP = Royai (Roy/Riza) from Fullmetal Alchemist. Why? We-ell... To me, they seem to be the perfect mixture of give-and-take. Riza is devoted to Roy, but not so much as to overlook his faults; nor is she afraid to take him down a notch if he ever needs it. And Roy...is just Roy. :-P And since it's an active manga, with Arakawa seemingly on the bandwagon, there's always something else for us fans to delight over.

Pet peeve = people in the campus cafeteria who try to pick food up off the line WITH THEIR BARE HANDS!!! >.<;;; As though crowded dorms and lousy eating habits weren't already enough to attract infectious disease; are these people REALLY that intent on dying from some form of botulism? And must they take the rest of us down with them!?!

(Hana was working in a hot spring resort that caters to people (more often than not ninjas) in reeducation after severe injuries; she was living in the village ten minutes away or something like that.)

Well...I could attempt the OTP one... XD I don't really have just one OTP, but I'll attempt an explanation for Kisame/Itachi, since that's the one that has most taken over my brain lately.

We don't know much about either character from canon, though admittedly Kisame gives us more personality than post-massacre-Itachi does. I see them working as a couple for a few reasons.

They obviously spend quite a lot, if not all, of their time together - eating, traveling, working, sleeping, the whole deal. Given that Itachi is a sociopath and quite paranoid, the fact that he is willing to do this says a lot: it means that he must trust Kisame quite a bit, and not just to watch his back in a fight. It means that they probably get along well, because I don't think that Itachi is actually patient enough to put up with someone who irritates him for as long as he and Kisame have been working as partners (which is approaching the 10 year mark, assuming he joined Akatsuki shortly after the massacre). This works the other way, too, of course: Kisame must trust Itachi, and they seem to communicate well. They each know their strengths and weaknesses and work with them; Itachi is more of a strategist than Kisame, who strikes me primarily as a fighter. Hence, Kisame's deference to him during their first appearance in Konoha.

Thus, I think that if Itachi were ever to get far enough past his mental issues and paranoia enough to have a relationship with someone, it would have to be someone he could trust absolutely, someone who is strong (that would be most attractive to him), who knows him well enough to understand his comfort levels and not push him too far, and that he's not going to feel too much like he has to protect. Kisame is pretty much the only character who fits all of these criteria in a canon (or moderately canon) setting. (Although a well done crack or AU could convince me of another pairing with Itachi. The ItaNeji in CFUD kills me - such beautiful IC crack! XD)

Plus, both Kisame and Itachi rather unknown characters, which gets my plot bunnies going like crazy, trying to figure them out. *sighs*

So...yeah. Sorry for getting so long-winded. >.> I could also rec you a few fics of these two, if you're interested. But I'll run away now. ^_^

- Makoto Mizuhara and Ifurita are the One True Couple. A genuinely nice guy who lives by his wits and ends up with the ancient AI construct he freed from slavery, who in turn is the hottest atom bomb on a half shell this side of the nearest supernova. They're both tremendously likeable and admirable on their own, and by the end of the OAVs they've come to fit together so perfectly... *happy little sigh*

- My crack romance of choice is Kouga/Kagura. Because in canon they loath and abominate each other (well, they did until Takahashi killed her off) and yet I've seen it done so that it works and I feel compelled to pay homage to the talent and skill that made it so. Although there's a special place in my heart for Kenshin/Kaoru/Angua, which could never happen outside of the Twelve Character Meme.

- Character bashing. I abhor it. *gollum voice*We hates it, we does! It burns us!*/gollum voice* This isn't our playground, people, so we owe the creators and the characters the fucking basic respect of getting it right.

Um. *gets off soapbox* Sorry, rant over. Beyond the basic outrage above, I'm mostly really upset a lot of the time by the fact that there are no small number of otherwise interesting and well executed fics that have been utterly ruined for me by the author's decision to indulge their prejudiced hatred for a character (take what J. Random Fantwit does to Sakura in her SasuNaru fic for a case in point, and, btw, the biggest reason I don't read that pairing without a reccomendation from a trusted source.)

My OTP is Kerry/Edwards. I had such a great time in that fandom. They're my OTP because they're adorable and gave off such a wonderful vibe together that neither one ever gave off alone. They just... completed each other, which to me is the definition of One True Pairing.

As for crack pairing... I have a wierd desire to read ItaJira, but I can't find any. It's nonsensically deliciously cracktastic because it makes zero sense and yet... and yet. I want to read it so bad but I'm afraid to because it has so much potential to come out very, very badly.

Pet peeve- I have two. One is fics that are based on good bunnies but have bad spelling and grammar. GET A BETA. WHO SPEAKS ENGLISH FLUENTLY. (I kid you not, a few days ago I was surfing AFFnet and I found a fic with a Beta's Note saying that she just rearranged sentences to make them sound better and didn't bother with picky details of spelling or grammar, and she was Swedish, so please don't give her such a hard time- WHAT THE FLAMING FUCK. AUTHORESS, I'M SURE YOUR BETA IS A LOVELY PERSON BUT YOU NEED A SECOND ONE. Bad spelling and grammar can make a promising fic into an unreadable one.) Second pet peeve is fics that are almost in character, but are just off enough in a dark direction to make the fic feel, overall, like battery acid on my soul. And the worst thing about fics like these is that it's so hard to stop reading them because you want to know what happens, but you know you have to stop or it'll hurt your brain bad.

You know Itachi chose her because she looks just like him in sexy no jutsu and he wanted to know how it felt to be with jiraiya by proxy. My OTP changes every week it seems, so no point in restricting myself. But my favourite one to write is NaruSasu because there is just so much that can be done with those two. Smut, angst, introspective psychological pieces...so. much. material.

I agree about there not being enough Kyuubi!Naruto fics out here, for he is a sexy beast indeed. But I fail to see how "reality" = "Tsunade asking for help from the Inuzuka".

If you mean reality in the sense of what would happen in canon in this case... Reality, in my opinion, is Tsunade getting ready to kill Naruto if Jiraiya can't seal him back up. Also, rituals and language of beasts what? They can communicate with their dogs; but their dogs are sentient animals, and when they're old enough, they can speak human speech. Nothing says the Inuzuka can communicate with anything else, and besides foxes are not dogs. (also Kyuubi is a demon more than he is a fox; while they might change his mindset and the way he constructs his sentences, Kyuubi does talk, so in canon, Naruto probably would talk too, if he stopped mindlessly destructing stuff long enough to want to communicate)

I don't have a clue where you got the "rituals" part from.

Not to say it isn't a good idea for a fic (and mmm kyuunaru is so hot), but I fail to see how it's more realistic than any other feral-Naruto interpretation.

Just one OTP? But I have a lot of fingers in a lot of pies, I can't pick just one. Maybe Clark/Lex from Smallville because damn that's a lot of eyefucks going on between them for a WB series, and I can't seem to pair them off with anyone else from the show. Err... I have even more crack pairings than OTP/OT3, campfuckudie spoiled me. =D

I like crossovers, but not crossromance (camp does not count XD), I'll also read a general rated fic before an 18+ one. OMG I'm actually a prude. Characters being OOC makes me cringe and hit the back button. For some really weird reason, when I read a fic, I like to know when it diverge from canon if it's going into AU land. The last one does not count as a pet peeve, just my quirky fic reading habits.

Dood... I think you've read every single Team 7 or NaruSasu fics out there, at least all the good ones. Unless someone wrote something new.

Well, I guess my OTP would have to be Daisuke/Ken from Digimon. And man, I am waaayyy to old to be watching that anime. >_> The pairing is practically cannon with all the subtle (and not so subtle) unspoken puppy love/admiration going on there. I love how they react to each other.

My most favorite cracktastic pairing has to be Envy/Ed from Full Metal Alchemist. I mean, first of all, ENVY. And all he entails. Then you have Ed. And the fact that they're related. And the ISSUES they both have! Both with themselves and with each other. Combine that with the way they interact... *squeals* <3

Pet Peeves. (I'll try to limit myself, truely)
I hate when authors Demand feedback and threaten not to write any more if feedback is not provided. I never give feedback to these authors and often stop reading their fics.
I hate when authors place an author's note in the middle of a story laughing at a joke they just made or excusing and action/character they just wrote. oh god. Just talking about it is making me cringe.

I would link you to team seven fics if I could (cause threesomes are love and team seven fic is nirvana) but I get most of my team seven goodness from you. Whether from your fics or from your recs. >

Never saw any digimon ^^; Ed/Envy, though, can be so deliciously twisted and hot. But guhhh i hate it when fangirls fluffify them. Envy/Ed is hatesex, not "omg loved you all along" romance. ~_~ it would take a good long while and an excellent writer to convince me of either of them developing untwisted feelings for each other.

One would think that when releasing a paramilitary AI into the general population they would be sure to disarm him. Perhaps your discharge was even more non-standard that circumstances would have indicated?

Hmm. I have favorite pairings for most of my fandoms but I don't know if I really have an OTP in any of them. I do have a crack OTP, though I only consider it crack since I can't find anyone that writes it (or anyone that knows anyone that writes it), Shizuru/Botan from YYH. Shizuru could use someone bubbly in her life; someone unlikely to die on her, or turn out to be a kitten torturing psychopath. Shizuru kicks so much ass, she's made of awesome. Botan has a really nice ass that she doesn't mind showing off in leggings. ;) And she wields a mean baseball bat. And they're hot.

Pet peeve... OMFG, people that don't read instructions! I've got the key instructions on the procedure to join my adults only LJ communities in BIG TYPE and RED with LINKS at the very top of the userinfo and people don't fucking read it! *seethe*fume*growl*

It's the perfect resolution of a love triangle, acknowledges important bonds and motivations in canon, has plenty of tension to cause work and excitement in the relationship, has complications of emotions and societal pressures (it's by no means "easy"), isn't necessarily balanced in the beginning (but canon has shown that they have the determination and follow-through to reach a goal if it's realized), is aesthetically appealing, each person has strengths and character flaws which compliment those of the others, includes rivalry in smaller acts, shows transitions in goals/appreciation/competition, changes everything and yet so little at the same time, tends to have the best-written slash, deals in strong emotions and passion, explores sexuality while questioning stereotypes and respecting both males and females, has Family Issues written all over it, is full of awkward moments, has an internal balance (skill/personality/emotion/etc.) so that one will be able to empathize with both the extremes of the other two, and gives room for more growth and intimacy as a team (which could be both good and bad on the battlefield, but I love the image of them carrying out a plan with skill and intertwining movements that rely on their comfort with one another and knowledge of each others' strengths/weaknesses). /run-on.

-Pet Peeves: Sexism in writing, homophobia masked as slash/yaoi (reinforcing stereotypes, hateful treatment of characters, etc.), and changing canon out of a lack of creativity (ie This AU takes place in my hometown!!!!1 What if they went to my high school, weren't ninjas, and were all girls?). I can understand making major changes while keeping characters IC as a challenge (while acknowledging that it's crack), but most of these authors are choosing to write what they know (self-insertion) and deleting character pasts and dynamics, rather than creatively challenging themselves as authors.

-We read from the same places. My heart leaps each time that I see a new link, but I always click to discover that I've already read (and most likely enjoyed) the proffered story before. Woe. :o(

I can, however, recommend a fic for that terrible day when nothing is updated, the words just won't flow for you, and the excessive heat alters your judgment to the point where you're willing to read a little bit of scandalous het (KakaSaku). :op Or not. My new goal in life is to convert this author to OT3 writing. This author's grasp of canon is amazing. The general premise might sound cliche, but the new tricks and interesting insights to the sharingan, sexuality among ninjas, maturity, and attention to detail are awe-inspiring. There's an intriguing plot, plenty of danger, humor, realistic portrayals of sex, and an acknowledgment of Team 7 bonds that makes me proud of our fandom.

I'm not a huge Kaka/Saku fan... but that's a pretty good read...
