Perhaps the answer is to have Naruto and Sakura get horny over Sasuke, just with Sasuke not present? I don't know, creative writing has never been my forte, and I honestly cannot think of a way for Naruto and Sakura to be seriously attracted to each other, excluding "he's hot," "she's hot."

Bleh, they should definitely bond over their lust for Sasuke sometimes, but right now I need to work on them getting closer. Can't always rely on Sasuke. *sigh*

Well, what about some random girl from another village or something hits on Naruto and Sakura is all "HOW DARE THE BITCH HIT ON MY MAN." I realize that is not exactly original, but it is perfectly reasonable for Sakura to get jelous, she already got pissed when he said he was at a stripclub.

If it helps at all, I haven't gotten any sibling vibe from their relationship in Teamwork. Just her feelings aren't as intense for Naruto as they are for Sasuke. And Naruto feels like Sakura likes Sasuke better. As for Sasuke, he feels like he is wondering "Why do either of them want me anyway?"

Well, Naruto has his simple-but-deep puppy-love thing and he's always acting friendly-flirty anyway, so he doesn't need to change that much (besides no event is scheduled that would prompt him to be more serious or declaration-y) so it should probably come from Sakura. The problem is that she's used to thinking of naruto as a teammate -- funny, courageous, but kinda bratty-brother-ish. She was shocked by how much he seemed to love her in Teamwork 1, but since then, they haven't been all that romantic one-on-one (it's different when it's all three of them), and besides she still associates "real" romance and Sasuke. Naruto is more in the "okay, he's kind of cute" range. And since she's had many changes in her life recently, she's kind of clinging to the old patterns, even though she knows better. Mentally, she is alright with the fact that Naruto is her boyfriend too, but when they interact and he annoys her or makes her laugh, she just reacts to him like she did before the big night. Unless he walks around shirtless, she has trouble seeing him as a man and not as "Naruto, my friend and teammate".

So. Hrrmm. What could he do that would prompt her to see him as the sexy hunk of manflesh he is... XD

Well, she's already proved herself possesive of him when he mentioned the strip club, and while it's not like the longing(?) she displays around Sasuke, I don't think it would be much of a stretch for her to want to hold his hand or even put his arm around her as they walk home especially when he's pulling the flirty act. :3 I know that's still not really touching on the actual issue, though. Second trimester, which is the only tolerable part of pregnancy IMHO. The morning sickness is usually gone by then, and you're not yet huge and uncomfortable. ^_^

*tries to remember first pregnancy since I was in really good shape back then* At three months, I could see it IF I was lying on my back, and then it was just a tiny, firm, little bump at the lowest part of my stomach. I suppose you could maybe feel it sooner if you pressed on the stomach; I just remember noticing mine at three months. If I was standing, you couldn't see or feel anything.

That was also about the time I started being able to feel the baby move. It felt like bubbles in my stomach. The first time it happened, I freaked out and shoved my boyfriend's hand down my pants right in front of my mom. XDD

It's hard to say when it started to feel different if I was standing. A pregnant belly is firm, and back then my stomach was already firm. I'm guessing about 4 1/2 or 5 months, about the time I was starting to show. I still didn't really look pregnant, but I could see the difference and so could the people close to me.

My professor stated something very similar in class, also noting that this is the time when it's still possible to sleep semi-regularly (didn't feel uncomfortable for her stomach), the Big Breasts come in, and her center of gravity wasn't that distorted. You're not the only one who sees it as the more tolerable part. ;o)

I've never heard it described like that before. Were these slow, large bubbles like the type that one blows in soap (can feel it expand and then burst against something)? Or were they smaller, more rapid, and tingling like in carbonation?

Ugh, the sleep thing was torture for me, since I'm one of those people who can only sleep on their stomach. ;__; By about 4 1/2 months, I had to start sleeping on my side. >__<

They were small, like carbonation. The image that jumped to mind when it happened was actually like an aireator in a fish tank. O.o Weird, yes, but it was like a couple of bubbles would run through there and then a few more. I guess you could describe it also like a fluttering sensation. For some reason, I just pictured bubbled. :P

Hehe, oddly enough, it didn't even make the list. XD It probably should have, though, since I remember saying something like "feel that?" But then I had to clarify "that bubbly feeling; I think the baby's moving" when he just looked at me all confused. I guess I was just too excited to think about it really. Sorry, mom. XD

- if she discusses a part of training that she needs to improve on, he could suggest a sexy way to get some practice in with him
- something (a comment, concern for her, gesture, etc.) relating back to her parents?
- we know that naruto has interacted with some of the younger children/ninjas of the village and that some idolize him without being negatively influenced by parents. Perhaps one of them (ie Moegi) can be an early developer and have a crush, stalking him on his way home (the way that Konohamaru used to). His interactions with her could cause Sakura to take notice of certain traits that the other girl must see in him.
- could see another couple pass by holding hands (doesn't quite fit with this universe, but could totally see her walking down the street, spotting Ino with some boy, and making a quick grab for Naruto's hand out of the habit of rivalry ... only to suddenly ponder why they don't normally hold hands, discovering that it's comfortable or exciting, and feeling guilty at the happy smile that lights his face when she holds his hand)
- irritate her so that she reacts like normal (takes a half-hearted swing at him out of habit), but then instead of fighting like normal, he could catch her hand and give it a teasing, wet kiss or dodge and breathe on her neck, telling her that she smells good when she's angry (does the girl have a hot spot that she wasn't aware of?)
- notice that she starts to look a little tired (chakra use, concentration, and sun catching up to her) and offers to carry stuff for her, but gets rebuffed since she's strong enough to do it for herself and has some hangups over feeling inferior or helpless. He could point out that boyfriends are allowed to be nice to their girlfriends and she doesn't always have to be strong (just like he and Sasuke don't), causing her to think about how he sees her now and her feelings around it.
- have him offer to stop to eat at a place that isn't a ramen stand (but has ramen on their menu ;o) to show that he's making an effort to think of her tastes) ... then again, they're sort of limited on cash, right?
- wind blows something into his eyes, so he rubs at them, eventually uses the bottom of his shirt to rub away the moisture and not cause more pain with his dirty hands. Shirt goes up and Sakura notices her eyes drawn to the skin. He notices and teases her, pulling her hand toward him (wanna touch?), and she has the realization that she could if she wanted to.
- fuck it. Have Ino slap Sakura upside the head for having two hot men at her disposal and not jumping their hawt bodies every possible moment or taking advantage of Naruto's "boyfriend" status for her own gain.

Also, as food for thought, there's Sternberg's Love Triangle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangular_theory_of_love) as an interesting view on balance and composition of love.

Sure, I can see her seeking the reassurance of physical contact that way, since she's stressed due to all the complicated stressors that have arisen- the baby, the dangerous pregnancy, the process of working through their emotional tangles to forge a proper threesome relationship.

Hmm... I think Naruto has done enough to get her to notice him, so maybe it's time for Sakura to get hit by the realization that Naruto is her boyfriend too? Or that he's her lover, at the very least, and possibly the father of her child.

It feels to me as though she's accepted this rationally, but has only considered it emotionally, from the perspective of Sasuke being her bf and Naruto a sort of... omake? I agree that Sakura definitely needs to start noticing Naruto as a lifepartner-type person and not just "oh, the other member of my team." Not that she DOES ~~alot~~, but right now Sakura is focusing her attentions on Sasuke with the marriage and all, and Naruto is really just standing on the sidelines.

Then there can be the sorta tenseness between Naruto and Hinata, and he's trying to say she's still her friend and all and Neji is there, too, and Sakura is suddenly just watching from the sidelines and it disconcerts her because she's used to Naruto always focusing on her.

it's a nicescene, but it doesn't fit into teamwork, sadly. naruto already ran into neji on the way, and neji was alone and going to the tower for a mission report. he doesn't hang out with hinata all that much, also, she's been dating kiba for the last year or so; naruto and her are a little past the "still friends yeah" talk ^^;

how bout just sending sasuke off on some semi-longterm mission or something? idk... i'm bad at ideas =/

I kinda have a suggestion. Its based on a filler episode where Sakura and Naruto go to the ramen stand. (If its on the way back...if its lunch time and Naruto wants to spend a little time with her)

Maybe Sakura notices that Naruto is eating in a non-disgusting way purely for her benefit and after eating they are relaxed enough to hold hands on the way back and maybe Naruto can get in a kiss 'cause Sakura sends all the right signals. (With inner Sakura cheering her on)

On the way from the stall to Ino's p[lace they should not mention Sasuke, maybe before or even after.

I keep getting this scene of it starting to really pour as they're walking back, and Naruto taking his jacket off for her to use to keep dry... and as they're walking along through the rain, Sakura gets the "OMG wet chivalrous Naruto = teh hot and MINE" cluebat upside the head.

He starts up a conversation about her training, which gets her all revved up and exited, then she notices that he's holding her hand/arm/ass, and it just breaks her train of thought. Then, she moves in to snuggle/walk with him and- GASP! What does he have in his coat?!
Somehow this leads to a steamy smut scene in the middle of the street.
