icon~

UWAH. HELP PLZ.

I can't animate icons. And this... seriously needs to be animated. Like. RLY.

Not sure the first two are necessary, so if the icon is over the LJ size, we can do without one of them or even the two. I already had to reduce the qulity of the pics a lot and now they look ugly. T_T

'course, it shall be entirely credit-free, what with it being [livejournal.com profile] sailor_comet's words, my tinkering and someone else's (or several someone elses!) animation. Beside, we need to share the word. XD

Oh, and while I'm icon-whoring,

edit: WOOHOO! and we have now several versions in the comments. Thanks guys! (oh hey, if you're all so much better than me, maybe you could make an icon that fits the size limit and yet doesn't look crappy!! so I think i'm gonna redo my separate icons in better quality and see if anyone wanna tackle them. *^^* the separate icons are now of better quality, anyone feels like trying again? ^____^;;;;;;;;

Also: [livejournal.com profile] na_no_nai strikes again. One-shot, humor, implied pervy. ♥

After rereading what I posted above I realized that I should of added this warnign to my comment. GIMP is not small program it is an art suite program comperable to adobe photoshop or paintshop pro. This means it does take up a bit of hard drive space.

Also, a little more detail on the commands for animation under GIMP. The commands for previewing and optimizing the image are under Filters/Animation>. To save it as an animation you save it as a gif or png and select animated when the box pops up. Yous hould be set with that if you are familiar with using programs like photoshop or paintshop pro. If you aren't and you want to learn how, let me know and I'll dig out my links to basic tutorials.

If you own a legal copy of photoshop or paintshop pro, I know there are plug ins or add ons that let you animate with those. I'd have to look them up sinc eI can't pullem off the top of my head.

Thanks a bunch for the links and recommendations. I was aware of GIMP, but I didn't know it did animation as well.

I do own a legal copy of Photoshop, so I'll try to look up some add-ons.

I did a little looking around. Apparently some versions of photoshop ship with imageready which is the program you use to animate with. Found several tutorials referencing using imageready. Elements also appears to have a primative type animaiton capability much like GIMP built into the save for web function. Hope that helps. It is has been a long time since I used photoshop and they've reorganized the Interface several times since I last used it.

At anyrate, This tutorial (http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/animation/animation.htm) by Janee at MyJanee.com (http://myJanee.com) goes over the basics of animation using both versions with photoshop.

<.< >.> Ya know I think this is the most I've ever posted to askerian's journal. Normally I just lurk. =P

What version of photoshop do you own?
I know Elements will do simple gifs very easily, but for CS you'll need some extra junk.
