askerian: Serious Karkat in a red long-sleeved shirt (5_tell me you're kidding)

... XD; Ahh, TMI reviews.

Teamwork: The Night.
oh dear that was really good. even got me alittle wet!

...

...... XD *dead*

edit: not gonna spam just so I can babble, so -- change of subject yay!!

The naruto forums amuse the hell out of me.

Before it was "OMG Sai is Sasuke!!!"

Now it's "OMG Sasuke is the Sound spy they're gonna meet!!"

XD do these people even think? Why the hell would Sasuke spit on everything he's given up to reach his life goal by betraying Oro now, before he's strong enough -- and to help his brother's friends?

Besides where would he know Sasori from? Okay they could have met, but it's more likely that Sasori's spy would be someone from his village, and/or someone he would have some sway over.

If Sasuke IS at the rendezvous point, he will more likely be there as part of the cleanup crew to get rid of the spy, or something like that. Kishimoto, if you decide to make me look stupid by making Sasuke the spy, give him a really really good reason plzkthnxbai.

I swear, they want Sasuke so bad, they see him henge'd in the most random background characters. Hey, that unknown woman with Tsunade (not shizune) had black hair, she must be Sasuke in disguise!! =____=;

... but fuck, i miss him too T_T sasukeeeee... come back and beat up Sai for hitting on Naruto... and then Sakura can beat you up for being an ass and you can have team cuddles and stuff and waahhhh TT_TT

This is the part where I wonder how long you've been waiting to unload that. You dislike Sasuke? Really? That's fine. You don't have to like him. Not everyone does.

But don't you think this is just maybe not the most appropriate place go off about Sasuke and his "fangirls?" I think you were really reaching for an excuse to bring this out, and it should be pretty obvious that this isn't the place for it.

You're in someone else's personal journal. There's nothing in this post inviting any sort of debate or character bashing. It's obviously clear to you that a number of people who read [livejournal.com profile] askerian's posts are, in fact, Sasuke fans, and it ought not take a genius to tell that the lady herself is.

Like Sasuke or not, it's rude to belittle his fans and him in someone else's journal like this.

I could write essays about why I like Sasuke, and why I feel he's probably the best written character in the series, but I'm not trying to change your mind. You can dislike whomever you like. However, please do be thinking before you let loose a big, steaming pile of hate, okay? It's not too hard to tell that this isn't the appropriate place for it.

Note, I said I didn't understand it, and I said YOU as in the people who read it are not stupid like a majority.

Note: I said. 'That's okay, I'm not going to say you're foolish for liking him, that's your opinion'

Note: read the post, READ it, then tell me I'm wrong. You have your opinions, it's your right to have it. And it's not my right to judge you for having it. But I do have an opinion, and I'm not going to be silent because you don't want to hear it. I was talking about, I hate the fangirls who go 'OMG, SASUKE IS SAI' or the ones who are 'OMG, SASUKE SASUKE SASUKE'. I dislike the character himself. NOT the people who read THIS journal becuase a VAST majority of you are intelligent about your like of him UNLIKE many others, like those Asuke was talking about in her post.

So , yes, I don't like Sasuke, and I don't agree wtih most of you, but if you had NOTICED I gave the people who read this journal a compliment.

Don't assume i'm some worthless flamer, alright? Just becaues my opinions differ from yours don't make me out to be a fool.

Let me clairify, I know most of you like him, that's fine. But you're not Freaking obsessive to the point of stupidity. That's why I even read this journal, because I respect the fact that you can enjoy the character, even be a fangirl, without being a rabid slobbering fangirl. You don't find the foolish one's here. That, and that alone is why I posted my comment here. Because, no matter how cocky this sounds. The people here are respectable enough to converse with despite differing opinions.

Got me? Alright? Good? Good.

Next topic.

*winces*

Oh boy... this sure turned messy fast.

I get the feeling I'll regret saying this, but... I didn't read Rahedion_Woif's comment as being bashing - of the people who like Sasuke, or of Sasuke's character. She - or he (I don't know you and don't want to make assumptions, but statistically you're likely to be female) - was stating an opinion. Not one I agree with, at least not entirely, but just an opinion. And she did say that the people here were intelligent about fangirling.

For the record, in my opinion no one I've seen thus far here is a fangirl, because 'fangirl' in my mind associates with being ONLY interested in the appearance of a character, deifying a character, or otherwise allowing your own perceptions of the character to completely warp your view of him or her. Fangirls are the people who would probably jump on that comment I made earlier and say 'well, it's all the curse seal's fault!' or 'Sasuke wasn't REALLY doing that' etc. etc. - justifying his actions to themselves because of COURSE heaven forbid that their favorite character do something stupid. Even the people here who self-identify as fangirls don't do that - in part, BECAUSE you recognize you're fans, and you know it might alter your perceptions. (I'm the same way - I always have to watch the way I think about the character, for fear of turning into an apologist. The REASON that I mocked the Curse Seal Warps Mind idea is because I DID consider it, though I won't admit that if you ask me to repeat it. :-P)

Askerian/Asuka et al, the way I see it, you like Sasuke BECAUSE of his flaws. And not because you have SparklyShiny dreams of fixing them, either. ^^; So by my definition, um... you're not fangirls per se. *hmmms* I'd suggest inventing a new term, but it would either flop or turn into an elitism issue anyway and I wouldn't touch that with a five-meter pole.

*coughs and scratches the back of her head sheepishly as she weighs her next words* Um... right. Damn, I don't WANT to come off as being so... pompous... as this probably sounded.

Rahedion_Woif: Just for the record, I wasn't trying to shoot you down with that long response that I posted. I was hoping that you'd respond with what you thought about the points I was raising. I'm not really linked into any fandom communities (frankly, the ratio of SquealingFangirls to people who can have intelligent discourse is just a little too overwhelming; think FF.Net), and I don't really have anyone to talk to about my ideas regarding characters, so when I DO get a chance, sometimes I go overboard. I hope you weren't offended.

*sighs* It kinda blew up, though, before any proper discussion got going. Oh well. Thanks for taking on the question about Naruto not getting scolded - although I will argue the point with you! (...Er, already have, actually. ^^;)

I never assumed you were a flamer. I think you went off on a tangential rant in an inappropriate place. It might be that you saw yourself as paying a compliment to those Sasuke fans who weren't idiots, but that doesn't really read that way.

You are entitled not to like Sasuke. I never said you were foolish for not liking him. All I said was that I could argue with some of your reasoning. I won't, though. This isn't the place for that, and it's really not a great place to complain about Sasuke, or Sasuke's fans. "Present company excepted" doesn't make it all better.
