Mate was a funny word; a Kyuubi word, that only Naruto chose to use. Kyuubi spat on the idea of human mates, but Naruto couldn't find a better human word for it.
For Naruto, she was Babe, and he was Bastard. When he felt like teasing, she was Pink, and he ... was still Bastard.
When Kyuubi was predominant, she was Slut, he was Bitch. Kyuubi wasn't very polite.
She was also -- sometimes, never almost, when Kyuubi was sated and gorged on red meat and utterly satisfied -- Mother-of-my-Cubs, and he was The-One-Who-Guards-My-Back. But only in secret. Naruto pretended he didn't know. Didn't share the notions. Wife, Partner.
Vassals. Friends. Skulkmates. Teammates. Fucktoys. Lovers.
Different words, not-quite-meeting notions. Different languages, different impressions.
When they were one, though, there was one Kyuu-and-Naru always agreed on. Both were Mine. No misunderstanding, no nuances, no implications. Because it meant exactly everything they meant, and it was one word that didn't suffer from mistranslation.

Well, at least there are no commitment problems on their side, though finding out how Sakura responds to the slut address would be funny.
Still, dominant!Naruto is surely lickable and loveable.

(which is amusingly very different to the way sasuke responds to "bitch". He thinks it's way too close to the truth to be tolerated, he gets angry, he attacks, he gets beaten up and then he moans as kyuubi shows him how appropriate it is. By the time they're 25, I suspect Little-Sasuke will have developed a pavlovian response to the word. The "sproiing" kind of response. The little slut. XD)

And it would as funny as hell to see Sakura use that against him. I really would kill to see Sakura and Naruto tagteaming Sasuke or the boys ganging up on Sakura in a tickle attack that turns into a sensual assault. That would get her out of her funk and would be drool worthy.
But in honor of icon love, Sakura deserves to get to be in the driver's seat in the bedroom so to speak. The boys have no hope against her when she puts her mind to something.
She is the brains of the operation.

Kyuubi has no human socialization to make him 'nice.' He's a big, cranky predator who takes what he wants does what he wants because he has no pack instinct. Nothing inside him that says 'play nice or they will kick you out' because that doesn't matter to Kyuubi. there is mate, prey, bigger & meaner (though not many in this category), not-a-threat, and threat. So, I don't know, but making Kyuubi evil would be OOC, I think. Because he's not evil, he's just not human and never thinks like one. That's the problem.

It would totally be a foursome if sakura and sasuke were, at the moment, more aware of kyuubi as a person and not as a weird!naruto.
Except they would probably run in fear because dude, he's not a lap pet.
... And that reminds me I should write the next scene, muahahaha. >:D
