It should be interesting to write, since I have no experience raising kids and not a whole lot of experience with the elderly (I live 16 hours drive from my parents and only see them once a year). Granted, Bennu is pretty spry for an old person, so I'm hoping my middle-aged experience with "oh, that's going to hurt tomorrow" and assorted repetitive motion injuries will get me through. :D

And this is the first time I've tackled NaNo with a firm timeline of "story starts here, and ends there, and these are the places you need to stop along the way". Hopefully this means I'll have a finished story at the end and not 50k worth of something much larger.

For some reason, whenever I think of him living with Breanna, I imagine that he has a son that he shares custody with. James forgot it was his month with the kid, because of everything that was happening with the wolves. And when the mom took the kid to Jame's old place and he wasn't there (because according to the landlord some young blonde cheerleader chick said he was moving in with her,) mom got pissed off and just sent the kid to Breanna's in a taxi.

I now have a headcanon where he will kiss/cuddle both Keller and Serrano, and they deal with sex urges with each other, and then they alternate on who gets to go back to his bed to spend the night. XDDDD He likes physical contact, he's just not getting aroused much.

I fear the idea of lycanthropy being transmitted through saliva. Maybe love bites, but not just making out. Or maybe bottoming for a werewolf guy, but even that's disturbingly easy to spread. Although it would intensify the immediate need to ingratiate yourself to the pack, since you can't get laid without them. And that leads back to why someone would infect him, because they were sick of everyone they were 'allowed' to sleep with, and people can get snarky/entitled when they know they're your only choice for a sex partner. "Haha, it's me or nobody, baby!"

My original idea was to have the kid be foreign, maybe from a fling James had while on a business trip to Japan. But I dropped that because it felt to weeaboo. "Oh, yeah, this is my son Takeo Sasuke Shinobi-chan, he does tai chi and kendo and we only speak Japanese to each other because I know it annoys you."

Although it would explain why the mother didn't bring him. And since I'm happy when characters are unhappy, the kid's used to getting a taxi from the airport to James' house, but daddy's not there this time, and he has to figure out where he went, so he shows up on Breanna's doorstep in the middle of the night all miserable and wet-puppy-ish.

And then Breanna's all "Puppy!" (partly to annoy James) and James is pissed because he doesn't want people coddling his kid, but it makes him feel like a terrible father when they're all mothering the kid and he's trying to make them stop, because he knows the kid needs some mothering because he's had a rough day and it's only gonna get worse when they get around to the part when he tells his son he's a werewolf. Cue language difficulties! Because they don't teach those kind of words in ESL classes, even if people know werewolves exist.
