Out of utter curiosity, if I was chained up in your attic, and I had to write you one story, what would you request? Or alternatively, what's something you always hoped I'd write but know is never going to happen?
Mostly i'm wondering how that would go, since I seem to only get shipping pings with Itachi and Sasuke when their relationship is already dysfunctional in other ways. When they're being too devoted-but-not-smotheringly-clingy-siblings I just go "d'awww brotherlove" instead of WOWZA HOT.
Also all my high school bunnies tend to fall into Locker Room 'verse and that so doesn't fit. XD
There's a few ItaSasu high school AU doujinshi done by Mutsumix, which is where I fell in love with the idea. Maybe those would inspire you? Ano Hi Kara Sekai Ni Wa gives them a traumatic past as an equivalent to the massacre, so their relationship is dysfunctional in a few other ways.
And I'm always down for some "d'awww brotherlove" too!
I don't really like mutsumix's art style. It looks almost canon but with puffy faces, idk. D: I think I saw a couple of those, though. See what you mean. Hm. Reproducing the trauma is certainly doable though. *ponders*

I like to think that even good!Itachi has a dark and possessive side to him. Having good intentions and desiring peace doesn't necessarily make him a good (or sane or healthy) person. Regardless of his intentions/motives, he still tortured his brother.
I wanted to write a fic a while back, reconciling the new and "good" Itachi 2.0 with the evil acts of Itachi 1.0. I didn't get very far because I'm no good with fic-writing. The point would have been to show that even with the changes, there's still plenty of things frakked up with Itachi and his relationship with Sasuke. Perhaps that sort of interpretation helps your ItaSasu shipping? :)
