Anyone can read arabic? I just got a review for Locker Room Therapy and the online translators I found mostly give me gibberish...

Halp plz. ;^; What does it sayyyyy it could be a recipe for all I know. What's really WTF is that the account it links to has english fanfic. Note, not great english but still understandable. I am baffled.

When I read this story I was like "Oh, weird." Only because of the Minato evil twin evil. And the kidnapping of Naruto. Someone needs to kick ass Kyubi, and I'm hoping that BUPA, Kyubi soon that no cell in the prison, is for all. Well, would not have this type of kicking we expected it to be.

I read Arabic and am currently studying it. I'll take a look at it, just give me a bit to translate.

...this is rather ironic as I just got out of my Arabic class. Knew that is would come in handy at some point.

Reading through the review, I wonder if some words are missing because there are a couple of places that sentences/trains of thought stop or change completely. That, or I’m a bit worried fanfiction tried to format it like a romantic language and flipped some of the words from right to left to left to right. It could also be local dialect I am unfamiliar with – I’ve had the most experience reading standard Arabic and only a bit of Egyptian Colloquial. Anyway, here’s what I came up with. If you’d like a more professional translation, I can email it to my Arabic teacher.

Anyway, here's my translation:

When I read this story I was like “oh, weird*.” Only because of Minato’s vicious, evil twin. And the kidnapping of Naruto. And I hope someone will kick Kyuubi’s ass, maybe his soon-to-be cellmate Bubba. It wouldn’t be the type of kicking readers would expect.

But this was really cool**.




*This is an odd use of the word – I suspect it is local dialect; usually this would translate to something like “western” or “westerner.” So the part in parenthesis could also be “how western.”

**The tarmabutta (the circle shape with two dots above it) threw me a bit for this – it makes the word feminine when the rest of the sentence is masculine. Either its an obscure grammar rule I’ve yet to learn, or there’s some other meaning here.


Man, that would’ve been much easier had short verb markings been present. XD

Well, I've read all of the translations above, and although I don't speak Arabic, I do speak Hebrew and I have learned some Arabic in the past. Since Arabic and Hebrew tend to be very similar, I was confused when some of the words I knew in Hebrew were of the opposite gender in Arabic... so my best guest is that maybe the word for fanfiction is feminine.

Hopefully that could help :D

Thank you! ^___________________^ Ahh, it all makes sense now. I do suspect either ffnet or hotmail messed up the formatting, or maybe when I copypasted it went weird. But it seems the different translations lean in the same direction, so it's pretty likely that you didn't miss anything major.
