I forgot to tell a lot of people, but I won't be home from... right now until monday. Woohoo visiting family i haven't seen since i was 8 year old! so if you don't get an answer before monday then it's normal (and if you don't get an answer after either it's because i suck, which is business as usual where timely replies are concerned. .__.; )
Would have made a naruto post but i don't have the time anymore. oops.

On naruto, i had a few thoughts (and SPOILERS). Really good chapter, really. Sai gets some focus for once, and development in a more interesting direction than the narusakusasu cheerleader he's occasionally regressed into. Here he actually asks a fair question- why do naruto and sakura go so far for Sasuke. Kakashi's reponse is just as good- essentially asking Sai why he's helping naruto and sakura when his only task as far as root is concerned is keeping an eye on them.
Naruto, who I thought was being kind of naive and foolish when he suggested the lightning nins beat him up, seems quite a bit more mature and intelligent in this episode. In particular, he seems to have more of a plan than being a punching bag for peace (and maybe feeding some masochistic desire to be punished for not saving Sasuke pre-time skip). No, what's he's doing seems to have a strategy behind it, not the least of which is impressing upon the Lightning nins that he'll keep his word no matter what. To their credit, Omoi seems very impressed (and also realizes sooner than karui that beating on him isn't going to get anywhere) and karui seems appropriately cowed when she realizes the guy who's let her pretty much beat the crap out of him is probably as good if not better than Killer Bee in a fight. He also writes off his injuries as inconsequential thanks to the Fox demon. The part that impressed me the most was the conversation with Yamato and Kakashi. The fact he's consulting with those two right there means a lot- he has a plan, and he needs a couple strategists he can trust and are more experienced. He brings up the conversation her had with his father, including some important realizations about Tobi and how he's probably manipulating Sasuke the way he did Pain.
For me, hearing naruto exposition on Tobi and meeting his father was critical because it finally helps me understand Naruto's behavior for the past dozen chapters- starting with his choice to talk things out with Pain rather than kill him, then his sudden urgency to help the lightning ninjas and shut Sakura out when he hears Sasuke's joined Akatsuki. See, I think Pain gave him a vision of the future- he sees exactly what's going to happen to Sasuke under Tobi's delicate care, and he also UNDERSTANDS why it would happen in a way he never understood why Sasuke would go to Orochimaru. And, maybe he's a bit afraid Sakura might become another Konan. he didn't know that Tobi was madara...but he did know the guy killed his father and set all this crap up. That insight has been driving him ever since.
Ahhh....poor Yamato. The guy always acts so practical, and he often ends up looking like an ass because of it. What he says makes sense- rebuilding the village is the top priority, and naruto still has issues with controlling his tailed beast...and we don't have the necklace anymore. And yet, he's in the same room with Kakashi, which of course means he's not gonna be anything except the guy's bitch in the scene.
Speaking of kakashi...well now, color me interested. For a couple chapters now he's proven himself quite insightful. More or less a return to his roots in the first arc. He makes the final link between Madara and Tobi. We get a brief hint of something passing between him and the White Fang, something perhaps motivating him as strongly as the 4th motivates Naruto. And then he cheerfully decides to put all his faith in naruto as well and screws the village's orders.
Danzo....ugh. Biggest disappointment in the chapter. Okay, I'm curious about his little entourage, but overall he's been kinda boring so far. First, he's LEAVING the village and ordering his root boys to keep naruto in...right. What are they going to do? Ask politely? The kid just beat on his own a guy the whole freaking town couldn't fight. And that assumes he's not pissed off. If he IS pissed off, you've got a nine tailed fox demon on your hands. Also....WHOLE FREAKING VILLAGE LIKES HIM. Anyway....oh looky, a Sharingan. Goody. When did the Uchihas start passing these things out like candy? Why the hell COULDN'T Orochimaru get his hands on one, everybody else did! yeesh.
