What's the last thing you wrote?
Two random-ish sentences about Gundam Wing characters.
Was it any good?
No. Vaguely amusing at best, but not really clever or well-crafted. XD;
What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
A Mary-Sue story about a girl who emigrates on an island and she's rich but lonely and of course there's this poor but handsome and mysterious bad boy blahblahblah. Mostly the story was about making friends with wild horses and hiding them from evil people who wanted to raze the forest. (I'd read the Black Stallion and Flame books a little too often.) I remember feeling extremely daring and inventive when they were trapped in a cave by a storm and the guy got a flash of wet bra strap. u.u
It's written on two small notebooks, with a dozen traced horses stuck to the pages to show off the different and rather improbable coats, and it was never finished. By the time I got that far, I was drawing a comic about a new girl at school who meets the hot bad boy everyone warned her about, and of course he ends up being a werewolf.
Some time after that, I drew a comic about a bazilion half-animal genetic experiments on an island and two mary-sues, (one spunky and one gentle, which was the extent of their personality,) but there weren't enough sues for all the boys so they started shacking up amongst each other in the middle of all the violent killinating and shifting pack dynamics. Of course, now, I'm at the point where I realize the girls are totally superfluous to the plot and might as well be cut out. >.>
Write poetry?
No. I'm not very poetic.
Angsty poetry?
Oh hell no. XD
Most fun character you ever wrote?
Probably Duo Maxwell from GW. Though the Askerian and Reiyel antics weren't bad either. (granted they're less fun when they're not pitted against each other, whereas Duo is fun pretty much all the time, unless he's being rough and gritty, but even then he's a snarky little bitch, which is also amusing.)
Most annoying character you ever wrote?
Uh. Intentionally or not? Because the answer would probably be very different. XD; At the moment I think Alind is at the top of the "written intentionally annoying" characters. (also at the top of the "the character knows damn well they're annoying. Bwahahaha.") Actually I think a few of the Duos I wrote were damn annoying, but that had to do with me believing that girl on sugar high = accurate representation of Duo Maxwell. Also probably Rinoa Heartilly but THANK GOD that was in French and is well-hidden now. Granted I do find the girl annoying in canon, but that is still no excuse to destroy her character some more.
Best plot you ever wrote?
Not a clue. My longest series tend to be a collection of bunny-swallowing plots (as in, if I get a random idea, and it can fit in a big 'verse, the 'verse appropriates it, which is why I don't write many one-shots. So my big universes tend to be easy to separate into bigger arcs and one-shot side trips.)
... Perhaps Teamwork 1. It had both action and romance! Also
Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
Uh. Do I write a lot of plot twists? I think there are a few cool ones in Teamwork 3, the Newtype fic and Restore, but they haven't been written yet. Once they're written they stop to be "twists" for me because they're just the path the plot takes, so I can't remember specifics. .___.;
How often do you get writer's block?
TOO OFTEN AUUUUUGH. I think I have writer's block more often than not.
How do you fix it?
I whine a lot, sometimes I try to get kickstarted via challenges to force myself to write, but then I also tend to wriggle out of it because I don't like obligations, and then it's back to whining. Sometimes I tinker with plot notes and outlines. Usually it tends to stop on its own, or maybe when I stop fixating on it, I don't know. But personally I don't fix it, it either fixes itself or it doesn't. Haaaate.
Do you type or write by hand?
Type! It's so much easier to come back and edit and pad things and move sections here and there and everything. I don't understand how I ever managed to write by hand.
Do you save everything you write?
Pretty much, yeah, unless I was writing random things to try to get the juices flowing and it ends up sucking balls and going nowhere. But that's pretty rare. I'm a pack rat.
Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
I can't remember doing so. Usually when I abandon a story it's because I've thought the bunny all over, been amused and interested by the idea, and then felt like I had explored everything. So if that happens before the story is more than halfway written, I tend to put it on the "I'm done with this one" shelf and forget it. Granted I'm not saying it can never happen, but it's not too likely.
The one exception is Garouverse. I can't make myself write the last chapters because my ideas sucked, I hate a lot of the plot for not making sense and having OOC as fuck characters, and whne I tried to find ways to fix the idiot plot I found nothing to put in its place... and yet I still regularly have bunnies for stuff that happens when they're 25. Stuff that cannot happen in an unrelated fic because it still rests on the stuff I put them through in Garou. Heero-ookami just won't get out of my head. Ever. And by now he has little resemblance to normal!Heero, so. XD So, I won't write more Garouverse, but I still find myself going back to them, again and again and again.
What's your favorite thing that you've written?
I don't know, I tend to be in love with all my one-shots until a couple of days after I post them, by which point I'm already bored of them. XD; At the moment I think my favorite scenes are Sasuke burning down his house in Teamwork 2 and the Progression sidefic in you-Naruto-POV. Though I still read over Unexpected Guests sometimes for sweetness.
What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
Probably Teamwork.
Do you ever show people your work?
Oh man, I would show it to everyone who asks, even if they're bored to death of it, if I could. The only thing that stops me is fear of spoilers. I'm always torn between "look ! look! my plot! my shiny smex! Isn't it fun :DDDDDDDDD any suggestions to make it better? squee so excited" and "damn, if I tell you then you won't have any fun reading it."
Who's your favorite constructive critic?
My Saropyooon. And
Did you ever write a novel?
Ayep, but then my computer crashed and I lost the end and never completed it. Oh Cercle. T^T
Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
Yep. I've written high fantasy and urban fantasy, cyberpunk and futuristic mermaids in space XD I've also written some pretty gory things, but I didn't really concentrate on the oppressive scariness for more than a few pages at a time, since I'm more interested in recovering and acting past it than in describing exposed entrails and unstoppable inhuman killing machines for chapters on end. So I'm not sure it can be called horror There were some elements of horror in quite a few of my stories, yeah, but I don't know if that would work as the primary genre.
Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Oh yeah. XD;; Romance is probably my favorite genre, I just can't take it if it happens in a vacuum of lurve so I need a plot structure around it.
What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Probably a cop mystery noir thing... But then again, maybe I'll get bunnied tomorrow.
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
... um. ... ahaha. ehehehehehe. :DDDD
Teamwork 3, Teamwork interlude to Suna, Newtype fic, FF7 Restore fic, weird FF7 AU thing, Dragon Ball Z AU thing, and then there's my mermaids in space. .___.;
Do you want to write for a living?
Oh man I wish I could. Not counting on it though.
Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
Nope.
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
On the internet, yes, a couple of them. ^^ I don't know how big the contests were, though, I was never that interested in knowing that. I don't like to be competitive with my writing, the only reason I like it when people submit my fics is that it gets me more exposure. But winning or not, ehh. In fandom most of the time it depends on the right pairing and the right tropes.
Ever written something in script or play format?
Yeah, at the beginning of my "career", so that was in French and as a collaboration with Kineko more than likely.
What is your favorite word?
Why limit myself to just one?
Do you ever write based on yourself?
Not anymore. XD I believe every writer shares a tiny piece of themselves with every character they write (if they want to write them well and not one-dimensional bad guys, that is) but I'm done with self-inserts. They're limitless and that limits the rest of the cast and the world in turn, and that's boring.
Which of your characters most resembles you?
Uhh. *ponders* ... Well. Alizea, hands down. She ran away from home, responsibilities and family to go adventuring in a magical world. Also she's self-righteous and authoritative and if she can't be right, she sulks. XD And she likes the woods and horses and geeky things and she's a bitchy pacifist.
Where do you get ideas for your characters?
Everywhere. Anywhere. I don't know.
Do you ever write based on your dreams?
I've written a couple of things based on my dreams, but that was years and years ago. Usually I don't remember my dreams well enough, and beside they're too illogical and OOC to do much with them.
Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
HAPPY ENDINGS HOMG. DDDD;
Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
Not that I recally, but I tend to illustrate my fics and write drabbles based on scenes I've already written. Not sure it counts though, since they're still coming from my own bunnies.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
Yes. Because I know I probably wouldn't catch it again on re-read, and I hate looking stupid, and I'm kinda neurotic about spelling. XD;
Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
DX fuck no.
Does music help you write?
Depends if it's a fun "everything goes" scene or a "homg I have to think about what's happening" scene. If the characters are bantering or being silly or making out, music's fine, but if it's a fight scene or something the plot depends on, no, it distracts me.
Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
I don't know? I don't socialize much IRL, when I do I don't talk about my hobbies, and on the net people tend to meet me because they've read my stuff in the first place.
Quote something you've written.
Because of the three of them, Sasuke would guess why Kakashi wants to keep his distances. He's entangled enough that he knows he couldn't live with himself if he let someone break them. The least he can do is not entangle them right back. He's damaged, been damaged too long; he healed crooked. His kids don't fit his missing pieces. They're never going to.

Quote something from one of my fics at me. (What are the quotes or scenes that were the most memorable to you?)
Pretty please? .____. It's neat to know those things.

(Anonymous) 2008-07-28 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)Always (impractically) assumed that you always had the ability and talent to write amazing stories/one-shots, the way Athena was born with all her powers and armour set from Zeus's head. ^^;;

ME, TOO! u.u I hate asking people to beta, but at the same time, I have little confidence in most of what I write. augh.
I was really surprised you weren't planning on being a writer, though, must say. It seems to be such a part of you. :3

Well, I do plan on writing Real Books11!!1!1!, but I'm not counting on it to make money. It's still a hobby. Also the idea that i'd have to manage to sell them and rework them to a stranger's specifications is a little scary and discouraging. ;_; Anyway, i'm not going to stop anytime soon, and probably not ever -- I just don't see it as a career. Making it mandatory and resting my income onto it sounds like a good way to make me hate it in the end actually. XD

That said... Yoink! *saves meme so that she can work on it if/when she has some actual time*

I'd email you about this but for some reason I can't find any ways to contact you other than commenting on one of your various sites. I was wondering about the usage of your lovely artwork for something personal - I'm painting a tile and would like to use one of your china ink style images as a heavy reference - either the Naruto samurai or the fox image. The tile would be for my personal use and I would "sign" it as the art (c) you and just the tile (c) me. Would that be all right? I do hope so :)
Also, I need to catch up on your journal and on Teamwork!!! I've been lax about following it lately.

XD d'aw, it's fine *petpets* it's not going anywhere. I haven't written much recently anyway.

I like giving credit where credit's due, even if it is just painted on the back of a tile :)
Oh, I've missed quite a bit I think... last I read was the shower scene. I might have skipped something though because the thing right before that ended with the fact that Kakashi got out of buying them food even though the currency was the same between countries.
Anyway... I hope you're doing well. Whee!

hmm, sounds fine to me! and yessss link me back when it's up, i wanna see ^^

As for the tile, my mum finally got it back from the art studio and took pictures, so here they are!
http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b249/moocow1208/art/
I need to do the watercolor wash for the background and fire it again (my mum is coming to visit me at uni and bringing it with her so I can finish it n.n)
I hope you like it. The outlines are too thick for my taste (couldn't get a thin enough paintbrush) and I'm not sure why there's orange within the outlines... but here it is!
~Sara
no, i never idly wondered if i could get two men doing that
"Yes, strawberry ice-cream is a traitorous thing," Heero deadpanned.
"Shit, did they put something in your ice-cream or what?"
"Umm... sorry, Duo."
"Sorry? SORRY? I dun want no friggin 'sorry', I want you to do it again, damnit."
*glee* :)
I didn't either. Promise.

One of the things that always impresses me about your writing and sets you apart from a whole lot of fandom writers (particularly yaoi fandom writers) is that you don't hate the women just for being women. If there's someone you write as unpleasant, it's always for a better reason than "she's in danger of being paired up with the one I want for myself". And you make your women (and girls) tough, competent, capable, and still female. (And most of the time the source material's handling of girls isn't as cool as you find ways to make them. Anime is just not kind to women stuck in the 'oh she's the token girl of the team' role in a shounen hero universe...) When you write Tifa or Sakura, she makes sense as a woman who can fight and doesn't see anything internally contradictory about it. Purrrr. ^__^
no subject
you don't hate the women just for being women.
... XD;;;;; Things like that always make me think that on my grave there will be "Well, she wasn't a serial killer at least." It's kind of depressing to realize that the fandom is in such a state that it's even something to be noticed.
#^________^# thank you.
... I think I'm doing that with friggin' Chichi of all people. But then when she married Goku she was pretty alright -- young martial artist in love who abandoned her princess status to be a housewife. Just as the show went on they only showed her when she was a tyrant over her irresponsible husband and kids, because of course only the obstacles she is to the men in her family matter. Hrrrn.
(What's funny about Tifa is that as a character I don't even like her all that much. I mean, she's alright, and she's sweet and all, but I like Aeris 100x better. But I can't write Aeris right. *mopes* Got any tips? >_>;; )
no subject
anyhow! Aeris, hmm. I've never had any trouble with her mostly because I empathize so much with the kind of layering she does to survive -- there's the smiling flower-seller face over the whimsical prankster face over the earnest priestess face over the dangerous secret she doesn't want to admit... and she's so good at not letting the separations between the layers show, most folks don't realize how conscious she is of her self-control. (That was a skill I totally could have used growing up in a household with an abusive parent -- that's another reason I empathize with Sephiroth so much, too. ^^;;;) Of course, Aeris's got that empathy thing going to give her cues the rest of us haven't got about how the audience is reacting... and then there's the whole flower-maiden-to-earth-mother archetype thing going too.
hmm. Have you read Discworld? I have the idea that Aeris in about forty years would grow up to make a very good Nanny Ogg -- very earthy in all the senses of the word, with a cheerfully shameless sense of humor, but also with nurturing and parenting a really deep-in part of who she is. Possibly more so than Nanny, on account of how you don't really get to see Nanny with her back up over threats to Our Jason, but I suspect she'd be an unholy terror. ^__^;;

hahahahah oh innocence... where have you gone? XD
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
TT______________TT I NOTICE CROSSED WIRES ISN'T ON THAT LIST *WOOOE* NOR IS CERCLE. OH CERCLE (or maybe it's really just 'oh Reiyel!! >_>;;; )
And let's see... quote something memorable? EVERYTHING YOU EVER WROTE ABOUT REIYEL AND POSTED IN ENGLISH >_>;;;; Does that count? *runs away*

A couple of years later she was adding penises on my artistic nudes. Oh mom. ♥

Most memorable scene
Re: Most memorable scene
Yeah, I want to write so much more kyuusasu, but argh, it's so hard to come uo with plot. T______T Also in Teamwork Sakura needs her turn with kyuubi first... blah.
memorable scene
The quiet certainty in Sasuke's voice made her look up, finally.
"We just happened to be together when it hit," she replied tiredly.
Sasuke shook his head. "Wouldn't have. Like the idiot says... If I had really wanted to, I know I would have pulled free of... whatever it was. I didn't. Because -- with you two..."
He fell silent, and they both looked at him, surprised and wary ... and hopeful, a little. Sasuke never talked about what he felt, apart from hate and contempt. The black-haired boy looked down briefly, then took a deep breath and kept going.
"I'm... safe. Trusted. Both of you. Not anyone else in the world." He gave a half-smirk. "Well, maybe Kakashi."
"Ew."
"So -- if I'd lost control like that around anyone else, I would have pulled out of it. Hell, if it had been anyone else I wouldn't even have drunk anything but water in the first place. But it wasn't. So... I stayed."
Well, it wasn't a declaration of love, but it was still good. Wasn't it? Sasuke trusted her, like he trusted none but Naruto, the man who had followed him to hell just to get him out of there. Love was based on trust. There was still hope.
And Naruto loved her. Maybe not as blindly and madly as before, but still tenderly.
"... So things are okay?" she asked quietly.
Sasuke snorted and crossed his arms defensively. "No. I still need to kick Naruto's ass for not even telling us about his fuzzy memories."
Naruto squawked, visibly offended, but somehow managed to restrain himself and not retort anything.
"But afterwards, they will be?" she asked, feeling a shy smile tilt the corners of her mouth upward.
"... Sure."
He looked at Naruto, then back at her, and shrugged, uneasy.
"We're a team, after all."
This was hard. I loved alot of scenes from alot of your fics. Teamwork is my most favorite though and this scene is so sweet and honest...so it wins here.

Sai considered it. Danzou-sama had told him to make himself useful and agreeable if he didn't want to die. "Of course." A smile.
He followed Itachi out of the room, two steps behind, quiet and amenable, and asked his first question of the evening, because it was a mission parameter he needed and he didn't want to do it wrong.
"Should I call you aniki?"
Itachi stopped walking right there in the middle of the corridor; Sai didn't have any time to draw out a weapon before his back hit the wall. And then there was a mouth on his, so bruisingly hard it might have been an attack after all.
"Niisan." Itachi's voice was soft like the whisper of a snake through the grass. "Call me niisan."
and then, and then:
"When I want to fuck with you, you will know it, ice-brat. I doubt you get on your knees so often that you can mistake the position for anything else."
and and:
"... Neji?"
"What?! Hell no," Naruto replied with a laugh. "Sure, okay, he's pretty to look at, but my dick would freeze and fall off if it went within a meter of his ass. He's even more of an icy bitch than you are."
and:
"Aw, come on! Where's your sense of adventure?"
"In bed, and I was hoping to join it soon," she replied acerbically.
"Wah! Sakura-chan has been cheating on us with an anthropomorphic personification of a concept!"
The all stared at him, as if he'd sprouted horns and wings. He grinned his best shit-eating grin right back.
"... You were actually listening to that nonsense on the radio?" Sasuke finally asked, shaking his head in disbelief.
and if I post another you'll kill me. So I'll just say:
I also liked when you called Sasuke the asexual avenger and when Naruto say that there's a bazillion metric fucktons of snakes in the forest of death.
oh god, so many others!!!!
