I could grouch about the uncool yellow metal gliderthings, or the unoriginal and non-konohaesque town they're bombarding, or I could go "oh hey look, they're offering glimpses of Sakura and Hinata and Chouji and Sai and Shika, but I bet none of them will have any importance for the plot!", or I could go "my GOD another stupid new character who's a brat and clashes with Naruto but in the end he'll give him a beatdown of justice and convert him to his cult, why don't they use the characters they already HAVE in the show aaaahh"

... Or I could go OMG SHIRTLESS SASUKE IN CAVE YES GIMME.

asdfasdf. SHIRTLESS SASUKE, I'm with you on that one. I love how they try to make him all mysterious in the trailer, but he just comes out as the normal bitchy Sasuke we all love.

Also, when did Naruto become a Sci-Fi series? Seriously. I'm LOLing at it.

I was already forming a long, exasperated rant in my head about how the right way to add interest and credibility to a movie is to develop a GOOD PLOT and make good use of the characters, not to put in FLYING ninja bombarding Konoha like the WW2 planes in FMA, or to give the new, angsty little boy/girl Naruto will have to CHANGE red hair (just like his mother aaaawwwwww -_-;), but then OMG SHIRTLESS SASUKE POSING IN A CAVE HAPPENED (though without Madara bondage), AND NARUTO TALKING ABOUT HIM NON-STOP (FINALLY, MAYBE WE'LL HAVE A MARGINALLY IC NARUTO! BECAUSE YOU CAN GIVE ME ALL THE EXCUSES YOU WANT, BUT HAVING NARUTO GOOFING AROUND WITHOUT THINKING OF HIS 'BEST FRIEND' *cough* FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE MOVIES AUTOMATICALLY PUTS HIM IN OOC CATEGORY >_<), AND - AND - IN CONCLUSION, SHIRTLESS SASUKE FTW!

*pant, pant* Oh, and here's to hoping they don't make SAKURA forget about Sasuke either. Be good to me and keep everyone mostly IC, will you, movie-makers? ;_; Pretty please!

The trick, I think, is to keep hopes very, very low, even for a sasuke-centered movie. Thus we won't be epically disappointed.

;p you're aware that Kishi is for exactly nothing in either the anime or the movies, right? If the people in charge of those feel like stuffing things with fillers, I'd rather it came in the form of a shirtless Sasuke. Movie's irrelevant, plotless and not canon from start to finish anyway, but at least it won't be a 100% wasted fanservice opportunity.

Well, I'm pretty sure he tells them "okay, this character is like this and like that, and please don't allude to X or assume Y because actually it's Z", but I'm also pretty sure the movie directors go with the "what would be Cool and therefore rake in money" angle, not the "how to best respect Kishimoto's Vision." Also, Kishi can't tell them everything. But then again he has one chapter a week to draw. he doesn't have the time to check every single obscure-ish detail on the movies. That's how you end up with people wielding guns, which Kishi stated don't exist in his 'verse, or jutsu that don't work like they should.

Movie or anime fillers, they seem to believe people are unable to enjoy the movies without a plot that revolves around a 13 year old!fan-placeholder brat or a Sexy Potential Love Interest, though. =__=
