I feel all sci-fi-ish. When I was with Kin, I bought a half-headset (with only one ear-thinger) and a mic that's really a slender rod-thing that unfolds from the headset. It looks like I ought to be going "no, Operative, there's a platoon of marines headed your way, go back two meters and get in the air vent! Do you copy?"

And today I went to Skype, the program that lets you call for free all over the world from the computer.

And then I tested it OMFG DO I REALLY SOUND LIKE THAT. DDDDD: I sound all... preppy. And stuff. WTF NOOOOOOOOOOO. no phone sex career for me. sadness. This is so f*ing weird. And then I'll have to talk with Saro in english homg I'm gonna die, my spoken english is awful, I don't know how to pronounce half the words and somehow I can't remember the two thirds of my vocabulary when I have to say it anyway. Also gramer whut. *flails*

I'm SO not giving out my skype name in public. XD



edit oh my god we are the lamest losers who ever loserly lamed.

25 minutes. 25 minutes. And we said about ten words total and giggled nervously a lot.

Oh, and I made meep-ing noises.

Oh, I went on Skype for the first time last month. @__@ voice does = weird, yes.

But its better than phone!voice, which is even more WTFno.

Yes, phones completely fuck up voices, which is why the voiceposts you can call (specific to america, sadly) sound so weird. XD

I sound all preppy over the phone, too. It's weird because I definitely don't sound it in real life, so it's always giving my f-list the wrong idea (I bet). @_@ I bet your spoken English isn't horrid at all! >/ I'd love to talk on Skype with you.

Seriously though. Have fun talking with people online, it's so awesome. It took me like, several months to get over the initial, "HOMG I can talk back now umm erm mumblez" stage though. It didn't help that whenever I said something the channel would acquire about ten more people and someone would blurt, "DUDE there's a girl here?!" *snickers*

*sheepish grin* I really should have expected it, 'cause I'm a singer, and my range is best suited for first soprano, which really, is the highest you can go. But my voice sounds *much* deeper to me when I hear myself speak than it does when recorded, which is *very* strange...

Don't worry, it's just that way. the connection is slow ( at least for me it is), and so your voice get mess up like that. Just remember that the person your talking to you won't really care what your voice sounds like. 25 minutes isn't bad, when I used Skype to talk to my Half-sister in Cambodia, we took about an hour of giggles and broken languages. I can't even speak Khmer.

My voice is absolutely terrible. I really hope I don't actually sound the way I do on the phone/Skype/whatever. If I have to listen to myself talk like that all day, I'd probably stab myself. (Although, since I'm still alive, maybe it's a good sign?)

My voice sounds annoying over the phone/Internet. And I've been mistaken for a girl, several times.

Don't feel bad--th sounds are difficult (there are even native English speakers who can't pronounce them). Most languages kill them dead when they have the chance. And English pronunciation is complex and crazy (i.e. OMG unstressed vowel reduction. And unpredictable stress. And stuff).

If it's any consolation, my French pronunciation's probably just as horrible, and my vocabulary's definitely much, much worse. Il faut pratiquer de parler souvent, pour l'améliorer.

Oh et puis pour ce qui est de aprler anglais, je te comprend trop bien.
Au boulot, je me retrouve toujours super conne quand je dois parler en anglais, parce que j'ai un accent à couper au couteau; la moitié du temps, même quand je connais le vo', paf, impossible de retrouver le mot que je cherche; je fais des fautes plus grosses que moi...
Mais bon, comme je suis la seule qui parle à peu pres bien anglais ( et qui comprend l'anglais surtout), ben je me retrouve avec tous les visiteurs étrnagers ^^;
Heureusement, y'en a pas beaucoup XD

English is a weird language. I hated the "th" sounds. My English teacher in Russia made us do this weird exercise where you stick the tip of your tongue between your front teeth and go "TTTTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" for like, ever. Strangely enough, it helped me O.o

Anyways, computers mess up voices. I hate my voice on the answering machine. >___< And now I'm curious as to what Asuka sounds like ^__________^

That's how I learn to make new sounds (or isolate ones I already know) in linguistics classes! First you pick a word that has the sound in it, or just stick it between two a's, and you just keep dragging it out till you can make it on command. XD
