DDDDDDDDDDDDD:

My mouth is full of blood. And I can't spit it out, because it needs to clot over THE HUGE HOLE IN MY SKULL WHERE MY WISDOM TOOTH USED TO BE.

So far I have a side of my face so tingly and anesthesied that I'm not even sure whether i'm biting my tongue or not, and yet I can still feel the slight sting that's characteristic of "hey, look, there's a hole in your skin".

There's a hole in my SKULL. D: And if there's one feeling I HATE, it's the crunching, slightly screechy sound/feel of a tooth breaking. *shudders*

Also, my neck is so tense and full of knots I can barely touch my chin to my collarbone. I need to teach my mom to do massages, or something.

... comparatively speaking, it wasn't as bad as I expected. Now let's see if the clot forms properly. D:

edit several hours later: Okay, now it's hurting a bit. More uncomfortable ache that AUGH HOSPITAL, though. I haven't taken any painkillers yet, so if that changes, I can fix it easily. ^^

*c-comforts through her terror* Oh god, I should just not read these because I'm only going to get paranoid.

It wasn't as bad as you expected? Really? Do you...do you think it will be worse or about the same if you get four wisdom teeth out at the same time? Can you drink or eat anything? DID THEY GIVE YOU PROPER PAIN MEDS??

*whimpers* Oh man, three more weeks. I'm going to die.

I had 3 removed at once and I slept the whole time :D
Have some ice prepared, it will be useful (make the person that's going to fetch you after your operation bring some). I used to eat it more than to apply it on my cheeks :D
Couldn't eat properly for about 2 weeks so start thinking about very easy things to eat without needing to chew.

As for the pain, well... It wasn't really painful at first but it became quite a trouble after a few days for me. Just stay warm! It was mostly painful when I was out in the winter wind >.< I had to take painkillers for a few days v_v

Courage !

*hugs you very much* Wisdow teeth are the SUCK! I remember well what it was like to have freezing leeching out of my tooth sockets for days and having to spit instead of swallow because the stuff made me so ill. @_o

Good luck on proper clotting and no dry sockets and all that jazz. *offers many neck massages*

[identity profile] sunhawk16.livejournal.com 2007-01-17 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwww... *huggle pets* It'll be ok; it's really not all that bad, and I don't think that clotting thing is as easy to mess up as they imply... it's just a royal pain if it happens, apparently, so they're all super cautious about it. I don't think I've ever met anybody who had it happen. I've had all four of mine done and I'd have to say the worst part was the noise. >_<;;

*sends sympathies*

See, this is part of the reason I made them knock me out when they pulled my three wisdom teeth. That, and I had already lived through them pulling five others. *mutters evilly about braces and lack of room*

I hope you feel okay soon.

Oh g-god... P-please don't t-talk about it... I'm starting to have my wisdom teeth now, and it's one of my greatest fears to have to remove one or more of them.

*awkward hug because of shaking from too much dental thoughts*

I had to chomp gauze for almost two hours after I had mine pulled to make the bleeding stop. If you apply ice (20 minutes on, 20 off) for the swelling, it'll slow down the blood flow too.

ICE CREAM IS YOUR FRIEND. :DDDDD

=_o this is me. I can't feel under my right eye right now, damned Novocaine. Yes, i was at the dentist today too; i had cavities dun and a "descaling" of my teeth. and ONLY 1/4 is DONE. *wail*

; ; i feel yer pain, I remember my wisdom teeth getting out, and i had laughing gas. and Percoset. mmmmm.

I took a Valium before this visit, so i just cared less about the needles, i guess, I still cried, and I really don't wanna hafta go baaaaaaaack.

*flopcry*

... you were awake. This is me being horrified. When I got my wisdom teeth pulled, they put me under completely. And if they didn't, I was going to tell the doctor to club me over the back of the head with a 2x4, because there's no way I could get that done and still be awake.

DDDDDD:

[identity profile] book-people.livejournal.com 2007-01-17 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yuck! That sounds vaguely horrifying. *feels the wisdom tooth coming in with some trepidation*

Hope you feel better soon! It can't be terrible forever, right? ^_^?

Adi

Oh, the pain, the pain!

See, what You have done?! Now, I remember my own tooth extraction. It was over 20 years ago, but now it is all coming back to me (you are too good at writing such descriptions). But the worst thing at that time was that I had to go to school just after extraction... I was looking like a crazy vampire. And my PE teacher said that having my wisdom tooth removed is not a reason for not making a handstands - she was a crazy sadist. It was not my best day and I have forgotten all about it, but now after your very colourful description... I am going to read something sweet and fluffy and try to repress this memory. I wish You all the best.

I know your pain T_T. I had a tooth removed a few days ago, and it's NOT a nice feeling :(. The bleeding wouldn't stop for about a whole day after it was finishes either :(. By now, the bleeding has since several days ago stopped and the worst of the pain has all but disappeared. But I just can't get used to the feeling of having a hole in the mouth :(. Especially not since food gets into it all of the time! Aaaarrrgghhhh!

This... just makes me want to hope that I am like my mum and my wisdom teeth never come through... *shudders*

*soothes* I hope the painkillers work.

*too arsed to sign in at school*

Oh gawd that sounds like it sucks, and I never even have a cavity filled (never had any, natch). I'm also terrorfied that could happen to me because I think my wisdom teeth are only half emerged...they don't hurt at least..

However since you can't spit it out, or drink from the sounds of it, check with your dentist or doc if you can use some cloath or gauze or /something/ to clean your tongue. And then maybe if you're lucky you can suck on a another bit soaked with water or juice or somesuch.

And /I'D/ give you a massage just to make you feel better, with no intent on peeking over your shoulder at ficcies or bribing you to write more. Really.

The in ability to move your neck much could be the musscles but could also be your joints, like when you really need to crack your knuckles and after you have more range of motion? This is not a proffesional diagnosis, but rather a personal one. After cracking my neck I get a few more noticable degrees.

You could try what I do. But, it freaks a hella lot of people out so I won't describe it *cuts out all the typing she did to describe it*

I find cracking your neck, esp. your upper neck that's bloody hard to get to any other way. The atlas and axis and C3, can help alot with neck pain and mobility.

I know neck pain and sometimes that's the only thing that can help (because I too, lack anyone to give me a massage ;-;)

But, I would SO give you a massage, or teach your mum a few things. *points at subject line* My School? The Swedish Institute. That's the bloody Harvard of Massage Therapy. *wiggles her magic fingers*

Oh god. It hurts that much? I have to go get mine removed sometime within the month... Wahh! Now I'm scared. T_T

[identity profile] license-points.livejournal.com 2007-01-20 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Aah, get better soon!

I got all 4 out at the same time. And I was drooling blood for two days.
