renaissance faire thing...

Sadly, there's a good half of the pictures we're not allowed to post, because they contain people with AWESOME costumes... and we didn't think to ask them if they minded ending up on internet. T_T

The sign says: Surgeon-Barber (speciality:autopsy) XD

omg prettiest garden EVER.

Clock tower... ^^

Tower seen through old window through house-less wall...

LOOK. TROLL. UNDER THE BRIDGE.

There were more cats than that, we just didn't snap a picture for every one of them. XD

I'm the one in red and black. u.u;; I wasn't dressed up at all, but my top had broderies around the waist and just under the boobs that gave it a somewhat okay look. XD;; (nope, no clearer picture of me and my boobs. Sorry. ;p)

reminds me a little of India actually 8D

The Arizona Renaissance Festival1 has some decent permanent buildings but the feel isn't that similar because the "streets" are very wide. And there's little vegetation, it's brown, and dusty. I loved Arizona, but it was so hard to get used to relatively flat and empty brown landscapes.

It's sad that New England has modernized so much, there are lovely stone and brick buildings there. The hardest thing for me to get used to when I left Massachusetts (for Arizona and then Michigan) was how spread out things are and how plain the architecture is. Now and then you find a good themed town (Michigan has several) but most of the time... bland, so very bland. :(

1. If attending in January, don't let the cooler temperature and the fact that it is winter make you forget your sunscreen. Sunburned boobs. *OW*

[identity profile] malika.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
;___; so sad! I thought there would be more buildings like that in the southwest -- like pueblos and the like (one of the roofs in the pictures reminds me so much of a pueblo xD), but I guess you have to go further south or maybe they're not as prominent as I thought? *_*

I live in northern Virginia, so my area is very modern and suburbanized. There are still some pretty old buildings in Richmond and DC though =] Georgetown especially.

Sunburned boobs. *OW*

Ahh, one of the few advantages of being brown... 8)

Georgetown's practically the only place where you'd find them, except for Eastern Market.

I think I'm in love with the bridge and the clocktower. (and the caaaaaats! That cat that's looking out from inside the pipe is just...aaaawwww)

I like Kineko's outfit. :D

[identity profile] alittlesilent.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
OhmygodI'mgoingtostalkyou. x.x Okay, not really. XD But that cats did it for me. And the genuinueness of the place! I went to this lakeside resort town with a tiny, tiny Renaissance fair once, and it was more like a medieval fair instead. =/ But it took place in the middle of almost a forest, with little booths everywhere.. definitely not the same feel. x.x But I love where you went, I love the cats.. and the troll. The troll felt good. Reeeeal good. =D

[identity profile] questofdreams.livejournal.com 2006-09-07 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The troll under the bridge!!! HOW COOL! *such a geek*

Wow, those are just SO BEAUTIFUL. It looks a little like a ghost town though b/c there are no pictures of PEOPLE XD which suchs since I'm sure those outfits really were good.

AUTHENTIC BUILDINGS! That is so awesome. What I wouldn't give to have those around here. Not much here but swamp, cow pastures, and dirty city. >.> Our rare historic areas have buildings made in the late 1800's/early 1900's and there's not very many of them. Many of them are in pretty poor condition at that. :(

And lookit the ebil genius sitting there all innocent like. ~_^

*mutters something about tents and fields and sulks* ;-;

...It's possibly a bad sign that when I saw the troll under the bridge, I immediately thought, "Wait a second, is it using a laptop?"

[identity profile] sunhawk16.livejournal.com 2006-09-08 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Troll! Is that a real person? Did he come out and kidnap people? *grin* Red is your color, dear! And the pictures are just awesome! *.*

[identity profile] naatz.livejournal.com 2006-09-08 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh, old European towns/cities. Cobbled roads = torture. And there's no space anywhere. Too bad they're pretty, otherwise I'd call for removing them from the world! O_O

The kitties, though. Teh Kitties. T.T

On n'a pas pris en photo TOUS les chats ? T'es sûre ?

....

.... ah, les deux de la fin ! C'est vrai. Autant pour moi. C'est pas faute d'avoir essayé ceci dit.

[identity profile] kat-chan.livejournal.com 2006-09-09 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, to be able to hold a Renaissance Faire in one of your towns, rather than having to find an empty field and throw up some cheap buildings!

Kineko looks rather dashing in that outfit.

Thanks for sharing the photos. ^_^

That troll picture wins. ^^ I'm so amused.

Also, you are adorable. Who would know such large fangs hide behind that cute little face? /snigger

oh the pictures are beautiful! O.O

yesterday a simmilar festival was near Vienna and two friends of mine and i went to see all the dressed-up people (we were to lazy to create our own things...) - the whole "inner town" was totally into the festival. everywere were lying bales of straw, old boots,...
there were amazing costumes (especially of the people who performed dancing and music!) - i never thougth that "man in tights" could be this sexy *drool*
oh, and i really wanted to do archery... but everywhere were little kids and i didn't want to make a fool out of myself *drop* (if you knew how BAD my aim is you'd know what i mean...)
unfortunately each of uns forgot their camera at home *sigh* so we have to wait till next year...
