“Why can't you afford to have a criminal record?”

Naruto blinks drowsily at him over the edge of his steaming bowl, then winces and eventually chuckles. “And people say I don't have any tact.”

Standing on the other side of his table, Sasuke doesn't budge, his arms crossed over his chest, his feet set apart in a solid stance. Naruto flicks an ear and waves toward a stool. “Siddown, m'not running anywhere until I'm done with breakfast.”

“I'm comfortable standing.”

“Yeah well I'm not comfortable with you staring down at me, so sit your ass down or get out of my face.” Naruto's ears flatten on his head briefly, golden fur mingling with tangled blond locks, then return to their usual lazy slant atop his head. Annoyed, Sasuke pushes the pile of papers from the stool to the floor and drags the stool to the table, sitting down stiffly.

“Why can't you afford to have a criminal record?” he asks again, because he wants an answer, damn it, and the more Naruto delays and the worse Sasuke suspects it's going to be.

“Cause then someone would probably notice that my ID's a false,” Naruto replies with an easy grin. He has a milk moustache; the incongruity bothers Sasuke for a second. Is Naruto attempting to appease him by appearing innocent? No, he would know that Sasuke isn't as easily manipulated.

“...Why is your ID a false?”

“Why is yours?”

“My ID is perfectly legal; it was issued by the government in full knowledge of my circumstances,” Sasuke growls.

Naruto grins. “Your ID says 'unmodified human', dude. And it says Hatake on it, too.”

Sasuke gratifies Naruto with a long, unamused stare. “Is Uzumaki your real name?”

“Yeah, sure,” Naruto replies casually, sipping from his bowl.

“So you're using your real name?” Sasuke repeats. It doesn't make sense, Uzumaki isn't such a common name. If he truly was in hiding, he wouldn't be using it.

don't know if i like it, or even if i'm going to keep it, and i hatehatehate knowing how the dialogue is suposed to go, and then losing it because i'm too busy remembering how to type on that keyboard and by the timei'm done concentrating on the first sentence, i forget what else i wanted to type.

I guess either i'll remember the rest of the scene later, or i'll reinvent it from the start. for now, it's properly aborted; fuck.

Well... I liked it, since there's a slight build-up in tension and the answers are not yet being dished out. Plus, the little detail with Naruto's ears flattening? That was nice, it's easy to forget that he's got them, and it adds emphasis to what he's feeling.

What HAS gotten worse is your rambling, your capital letters went to hell. XD

my capital letters are in hiding with the key shift. did i mention this keyboard is set up differently? cause it is. yeah. and some of the keys stick. i hate. (also typing in the dark which aint helping. shhh. you love me anyway)

^_^ lovely little tiddy here. keeping us on our toes, for sure! I like the way it should feel like there's tension, but Naruto's actions and Sasuke's thoughts seem to diffuse it. I waiting for Sasuke to force it to be tense for the sake of getting whatever the hell he wants :P

Would writing stuff down on paper as it pops into your head help? I don't know if hand-writing things works for you. (Even though I don't write much, I do know how frustrating it is to forget what it was exactly you were going to say when you actually get around to saying it. Comes from talking to people who aren't there.)

I experimented with a French keyboard, and now I feel your pain at having to type with a different one.

I'd like to voice agreement for the ears, anyway. And governmental technicalities.

There were a few little grammatical errors, but since I don't know if you want to keep it, I'll refrain from pointing them out. (Unless you want me to, of course. I'm absolutely floored that you write so well in English when it's not your native language.)

Good luck writing when you can find the inspiration and a keyboard that works!

ALL forms of Naruto that you write are awesome.

However I have very especially awesome love for your Cybersukeverse Naruto becuase he is so so so NEAT! With the ears, and the smartassery, and the making Sasuke deliciously uncomfortable, and the descriptions that make me want to pounce him and have my way with him! *_* (gibbers into a corner)

This AU intruigues the living hell out of me, I love! I hope you're inspired to write a whole bunch more soon! <3

I love love the interaction between Naruto and Sasuke, the details and the way things just work in this.

*grins* My minds running 100 miles an hour on theories on why naruto might be in hiding.

If your having a lot of trouble with the keyboard, I can't help but think this way would be even slower and more troublesome, but it's an alternative... Under accessories, and system tools, there should be an option called character map, you can use that as an alternative to the keyboard if necessary. (One of the old computer's at my house keyboard died at one point, so the family just stole mine. =O )

bah, the keyboard is slowing me down, but i think the character map would be worse. keyboard still somewhat works, it's just annoying because i can't really FEEL when the key worked and when it didn't, i have to look at the screen to check. also, the shift key isn't at the same spot and argh! but i'm getting used to it. u.u
