So I got a review for the HP/naruto crack drabbles. It made me want to put up author notes soooo badly. But that would really be too bitchy, and besides it would probably make people reply to it and not the fic bit. Besides I really don't like to assume that my readers actually need that. =____=;;;

But that's what LJ is for! :D

Apparently I make my chapters "too difficult to understand". Aw. So, in an effort to be nice : Sasuke's core is funny because the giant fire-breathing bat refers to Sasuke's habit to blow fire out of his mouth and his Curse Seal shape, with the bat-hands-wings-things. They are rather ridiculous-looking. Naruto finds the reminder ironic (or he would, if he used words like "ironic", but he doesn't, so he just finds it funny as hell.) And Sakura's core has cherry-wood because her name means cherry or cherry blossom. That's also funny. The phoenix feather is there because she's a healer, but that isn't as amusing or even as obvious, just kind of vaguely almost-neat. And Naruto's got a frog nerve bit because he has a frog summon and because he jumps around alot! That's amusing too. :D :D :D

The trout has absolutely no special meaning at all. It is still hilarious, in my humble opinion.

... yeah, explaining all the jokes doesn't work so well, either.

Aw, I thought Sasuke's core was funny because one of his favorite tricks was blowing fire.. but I got the other two the way you meant them! ^_^ I think the real trouble is the quiet lurkers get it and laugh or just shrug it off, and the noisy ones leave comments because they want everyone to dumb things down rather than figure it out themselves.

Trouts don't need any special meaning to be funny. Like a bright pink shirt with the logo for the brown trout festival.

I think I got everything except possibly the phoenix feather reference, but that's just because I wasn't thinking too closely about it. :D

The feather reference is more obscure. It's not direct, it goes phoenix feather => phoenix tear => healing => sakura, which isn't that obvious a chain of thought. I just didn't know what else to put for her. ~__~;;;

Hee. It does make sense though, if you think about it.

I thought the phoenix feather part was funny because it came from the bird's crest, which I immediately interpreted as "forehead."

XD yeah, the crest thing was forehead-related, but that came after. *is magical and multilayered, like a yummy chocolate cake*

Gosh, I had no idea! You mean, Sakura's name means ''Cherry blossom'' and Sasuke shoots out fire? Oh my! Since when does Naruto summon frogs? You are so weird!

Aside from bad sarcasm ... X3 Did you know... The Akatsuki's spy chin is just like Sasuke, says the rumors ... Oh hey look THAT LOOKS LIKE SASUKE'S HAND. IT MUST BE SASUKE. :3

You didn't need to explain things. I figured out everything but the bat part, but that was only because I haven't seen past the bridge arc in the anime or read past the beginning of the chunnin exam in the manga and I'm lousy at subtexty stuff.

Loved the mermaid on Icha Icha Paridise, btw.

um. I didn't explain things because i wanted to explain things, i explained because i was being sarcastic as hell. If i'd kept going, next i would have explained why it was amusing when sakura steps on naruto's toes or sasuke uses his wand to stab him. ("see, he uses a wand, which is a magical object, in a physical way. this is unconventional and out of place, which is amusing, and he could do more damage with magic, so it looks silly. This is also amusing.")
