watch asuka do stupid shit~

So today is the eight of december, and for most of France it doesn't mean a thing, but for lyon, where I live, it's a bit special. Like I told [livejournal.com profile] joisbishmyoga, "blahblah Virgin Mary blahblah Lyon saved from black plague blahblah candles". Or something.

So to celebrate, we put cute little candles in glasses on the windows in the evening.

If you can already guess where this is going, here's a cookie.

Asuka: BRB CANDLES YAY
Asuka: whee back
Saro Lynne: ^_^
Asuka: WITH CANDLES
Saro Lynne: Hee. XD
Saro Lynne: Yay?
Asuka: ^o^
Saro Lynne: Writing, or can I try to reply?
Asuka: no, not writing, was too busy with candles

(...)

*Asuka puts candles on the windowsill*

*Asuka ... sneakily keeps one on her desk because it's teh pretty*

(...)

*Asuka is Tempted*

Asuka: *puts bits of paper in her candle pot*
Saro : XD
Asuka: potted candle?
Asuka: whatever. neat -- it doesn't burn out
Saro : I know what you're talking about.
Asuka: i mean it blackened and everything and i thought that would be the end of it, but apparently now it's turned wet with the melted wax and it keeps burning
Asuka: *fascinated*
Saro : XD
Asuka: but i added too much paper, now the flame almost gets out of the glass
Asuka: WHOA no almost about it
Asuka: did i mention it's on my very cluttered desk, between my mouse and keyboard and my screen?
Asuka: yeah, bad idea
Saro : Sounds like.
Asuka: but um the glass is too hot to pick it up
Saro : Find something to hold it with?
Asuka: it's pretty ;_;
Asuka: oh fuck, the flame's getting bigger
Asuka: when is it gonna burn out?
Asuka: it's crackling now
Saro : O.o You must have put in too much paper.
Asuka: ;___;
Asuka: i didn't add any
Asuka: well not any more since
Asuka: it's about twice as tall as the glass now
Asuka: and more reddish
Asuka: x_x
Saro : O.o
Asuka: i'm looking for something that wouldnt burn that i can put over the glass so the candle dies from lack of air
Asuka: but.
Asuka: it needs to be metal or something, because otherwise i'll only burn it all
Saro : Yeah, that would work.
Asuka: gah

*Asuka tries to pick up the glass and put it on the windowsill, holding it with about five layers of cloth* *Asuka burns herself anyway*

Flame: yay!! *dances*

*Asuka runs around to find something metally and smother the flame*

Flame: *DIES IN LIKE NOT EVEN ONE SECOND. LAME.*

*Asuka lifts the edge of the metal thing*

Asuka: OMG SMOKE. *koffkoffkoff*

*Asuka opens the window and then runs to the kitchen to run water over poor burned fingers*

Mom: ... is something burning?

Asuka: ... um. DONTSEEWHATYOURETALKINGABOUTBYE.

So now my room is freezing cold, I can't feel my fingers anymore and my eyes itch because of the smoke.

... but damn, it was fun, in a "so fucking stupid" way. XD

LOL. silly asuka. my mom makes me put a cookie sheet underneath mine and have it in a safe place.

[identity profile] animeprincess.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
... OO SHINY! *batbatbatswatswatswatplayplayplay* =^..^= meow meow meow...

oo, speaking of, that Sasukitty chibified in the background of your last icon was super cute. he'd be cute all by himself! *nuggles him*

[identity profile] toki-usagi.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not as bad as putting candles in hollowed-out pumpkins, and then watching them burn on October 31...

[identity profile] toki-usagi.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope...inside, in a pie tin. My friends were slightly...yeah. Not all there in the head.

[identity profile] animeprincess.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
9.9 and this is STILL all better than a video i saw of some guys filling a melon with flammable liquid, lighting it, and then whacking it with a golf club.

[identity profile] sparklemagpie.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
A friend of mine DID that, only with a hollowed out pumpkin, gasoline and a baseball bat. It exploded all over him - second and third degree burns on two thirds of his body. Twenty minute drive from city limits, another twenty minutes to the hospital. Smart boy he is. Smart and horribly scared.

[identity profile] sparklemagpie.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I once thought it prudent to try to run down the hall to the sink with a burnign peice of paper in my hand instead of - like - stuffing the paper in a glass where it could burn itself out. Long story short my fingers hurt and there is now a permanent burn mark on the carpet at the top of my stairs.

[identity profile] yuenoclow.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
^^;;; I once cracked on of my glass candle holders in half by putting too many lit matches in it at the same time... ;.; Twas my favorite too... *sigh* One of the *bad* things about being a pyro, ne? ^^;;;

[identity profile] nekare.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
if it's any kind of consolation, I once forgot to turn off a candle in my brother's room (we were playing 'the restaurant'. I was eight.) and my brother's blue plastic table got on fire. Long story short, the table ended up with a hole in the middle, the carpet had a big, big hole too, along with some pieces of blue plastic that had melted off.

But yeah, you're not the only one who has liked the prettiness of fire too much XD

[identity profile] nacchi-camui.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
XD ah, les accidents de bougies. (mais c koi cette tradition ._. ?)

[identity profile] typecast.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And this is why we don't play with fire. XDDDD

Two of my friends once lit a bucket of gasoline on fire, and then one of them kicked it at the other. Yeaahhh. Lots of third-degree burns were involved. Boys do such stupid things...

Yes, we have a bad habit of killing the messengers... >.>

^^ We might not kill you! You are still useful to the fandom... >.>

We might have to wipe your brain, or chain you down and torture you just a little though. The fangirls wouldn't want to lose their rabid image.

We'd only torture you in a good way. Really.

>.> She loves us enough not to care. You never know, she might be entertained. <.< Or not.

[identity profile] questofdreams.livejournal.com 2005-12-08 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
well, that was phenominally stupid. XD. Glad you're safe though! My sis threw water on a grease fire once. That idiot. Fire department showed up and everything. hahaha. I'm laughing b/c it didn't spread. yeah. I'm not THAT sadistic. =P

[identity profile] go-hifreann-lea.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
@__@ Having some kid throw a cigarette into a large bush and almost burn our apartment building down was enough fire for me...

...

Okay, maybe not. Fire is pretty!

[identity profile] malika.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
XDD candles = dangerouss. there's a Hindu holiday, Diwali, that is basically "festival of lights" aka candles but we're supertech now and use Christmas lights... XDD;;

*dies laughing* Way to go XD!!!

When I was in grade six (I guess I was about 12), my friends and I were being bad children in the basement of my one friend's condominium, and if it wasn't for this glass of water that we thought to keep handy, the other friend (who was a complete idiot) would have burned the place down. Oh, nostalgia. *sniff*

[identity profile] belladonnablack.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I had a candle on my windowsill. I don't remember what I did next but a huge flame went up and my blinds caught on fire. I've now had a huge black scorch mark on my blinds for about a year now and my family still hasn't noticed it.

It is kinda sad that I could have burned down the house and no one would have noticed.......

[identity profile] complexphoenix.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
I like fire. Fire is nice. I am totally a pyro :)

[identity profile] ktoth04.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
but its funny pain! Though something we've all done at one point or another... I've learned that
me+candles==baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad;

maybe u wont do it again? learning from mistakes and all that jazz?

[identity profile] ryouseiteki.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I was at my aunts the other day for her 50th birthday party and one of my cousins went into the bathroom where the HUGEST CANDLE THAT EVER WAS lives, poked a gazillion holes into the wax, and threw the tissue box into it. Xx;
Kid is so stupid.

I once lit an entire wad of paper towels on fire over the sink and watched it burn for about an hour before I put it out and sprayed that smelly bathroom shit all over the place to keep it from smelling of smoke. ...it kinda-sorta left a little smoldering mark though so I got in trouble anyway. :P

I also like to light about 20 incense at once. And not blow them out right away... Oooh, flame-ey. *g*

Hope my post amuses... ._.;

[identity profile] ryouseiteki.livejournal.com 2005-12-09 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Erm, did I mention there where STLL TISSUES in that box? ...Yeah. @_x;

And the fire made a mark, not the smelly stuff. Though that would have been amusing.

The incense also annoys my parents to no end. and sometimes I get ash in the carpet. ._.;; It's the cat's fault I swear! She knocks it off the wardrobe... =_=;
