guess who's on strike again. :D ahh, i like it better when they warn beforehand, so i don't even have to get out of the house to wait like an idiot.
oh, and yeah, btw i'm back from the con. HI.
Okay, so I DID have fun, because i got to see my friends *hugglesquishes
kineko,
kill_kirin,
bloodyscary,
littlegothsin,
viny_the_pooh and
jo_yumegari*. But, not as much fun as i had expected.
started out tired and with blisters on my feet from having to come back home on foot, and the weekend sure didn't help.
Friday:
-girl who sold me my train tickets fucked up, so i had tickets for the wrong day. So I had to hunt down a ticket inspector, who made me cough up 20 euros. On top of a 40 euros ticket, it did sting a bit.
-kirin was a little late -- not a lot, not even ten minutes, and i could have waited if i'd known she was going to be late no problem, but I don't know paris and i don't know how to go to the con in the maze that is the paris subway system, and she was the one who knew where the hotel was and stuff, so i kinda freaked a bit.
I don't have a cell phone. Most of the time i'm happy with it, but at the moment I wasn't.
-a half-hour lost waiting so i could change the return ticket, and then i needed to do the lost-and-pitiful-and-about-to-cry trick on the guy at the ticket booth before he consented to help me, except i didn't have to act THAT much to look like that, and i hate being all wah-please-help-me-i'm-a-poor-defenseless-girl . hatehatehate. On the up side, he didn't charge me for changing the ticket, which almost makes up for the loss of dignity.
-The hotel. Ah, the hotel. It deserves a whole rant of its own, really. But i'm going in chronological order.
kill_kirin called at five to seven pm to warn that we would be late so they wouldn't cancel our reservation. Guess who had canceled said reservation when we arrived? Took just a little wanking for them to give our room back.
Also, guess whose neighbors kept fighting and stomping off in the corridor and knocking loudly on the door in the middle of the night? I could sleep through it, but Kirin didn't. *petloves*
Saturday
-climbing back up the hill to get to the con was annoying what with the blisters and all -- but at least it was in walking distance which means no subway, yay.
-Discovered that we were sharing our booth with another fanzine because the con people had lost their reservation. they're pals, so yay sharing. Meaning that we went from four seats to two. Our fanzine had six members there plus kirin. theirs has. uh. i dunno, between four and six. Yay crowded.
-The overhead neon was dead and stayed dead all weekend, meaning NOT ENOUGH LIGHT TO DRAW. Rargh.
-There were almost no doujinshi sold, and no yaoi doujinshi in any of the series i follow. I wasn't about to buy prince of tennis doujin at 40 euros just to see a few pages of badly drawn bishies fucking.
-everything, and i mean EVERYTHING was overpriced. Especially the plushies and the badges and keychains. So I didn't buy a lot of stuff for the people i wanted to buy stuff for. T_T
-The ramen restaurant with the gang was cool, though, even though i've been craving sushi for weeks and they didn't have any. T_T
Sunday -- this one started to suck early.
-At two am someone came in our hotel room.
-At five am there was a fire alarm. A moron had forgotten his bread in the toaster.
-when we tried to come back in our bedroom, we discovered that the card didn't work anymore. Apparently we should have paid the second night in advance -- except when we asked the guy he said we could pay when we left!!!!RARGH. We had to cough up all our cash, and we had barely enough for the room.
-when we went to get more cash from our cards, mine refused to work. Meaning I had 2 euros for the rest of the con. Meaning murphy was all "HA YOU WANTED TO BUY THAT SASUKE POSTER, BITCH? WELL THINK AGAIN" at me. I was already indebted to kirin, i wasn't about to make it worse. U_U;
-Didn't have cash to buy food at noon. (on that note, I will love you forever for that food, tatia ;_; sure you don't want to marry me?)
-didn't have cash to buy Kin's birthday present either. T_T
-The afternoon was okay, but the only reason it was, was because i spent my time sitting on the floor behind the booth while Viny and Jo and the sisters worked XD, chatting up a storm with
kineko, who is like, my bestest friend EVAR, and who I miss so much. ;_; One lousy afternoon was NOT enough.
-somewhere during the day Kirin had given me her cold. Thank you, dear. It is a present I'm still holding close. (*cough* *blows nose* *coughs*) Also, I had the most niagara-like period EVER, which made sitting for long periods of time rather problematic. It was to be expected, though -- the one way to make sure i'm regular would be to have cons every month.
-I still don't know if we sold enough fanzines to get our money back. ;_; usually we always get more than we used up, but. hnn.
-couldn't say goodbye to kin properly because she was late for her train. x_x say, did you catch it anyway? ;_;
-I was so exhausted when we arrived at the train station with kirin that I was all dizzy and slow , and i think i almost fainted a few times. I've never fainted in my life; it was pretty unnerving, which made me cranky. thanks for putting up with me, kirin *cuddleloves*
-of course my seat was at, like, the other end of the friggin train -- well, no, not quite but STILL. ARGH.
-the train had air-conditioning. I have a cold. Do the math.
-arrived laaate, was exhausted, made it worse by going online to read my mail and have a little chat with my lovely
joosetta. Little. Right. Went to bed uber-late, had to get up at seven the day after. I'm so smart.
Of course, even after all that, the worst thing about the con is still that it's already finished. XD
Next time, I want to cosplay as Tsunade.

if you look back a little, you'll find bits and pieces of chapter 3 of teamwork. It's almost complete ^^
